Thanx. I remember having a discussion on this forum about air filters and I guess the lifetime was mentioned as 7500 kms. And I have already done 13000 kms but no one at the ASC ever told me about it during the services

It was a classic case of starter relay going bust! Get it replaced. Just replacing the fuse alone 'may' not work. It costs ~180 rupees.
Get yourself a MINDA make starter relay and put it in yourself. Toolkit provided with the bike is enough to do the job.

Bought my Karizma ZMR (Blazing Red) last saturday. Everything was fine for 2 days, except for some sound from the fairing and the silencer. Today morning i rode for about 26 kms, stopped at a signal, turned the ignition off. Thats it.

When i turned the ignition on, no display, no self start, no horn nothing. Tried manually starting, but the bike refused to start. I was left stranded in the middle of the road for about 2.5 hrs when the service centre guys finally showed up (after calling them continuously). At first, they checked the fuse beneath the seat. They said it was ok. Next, the tried checking the fuse near the battery and voila, one of the fuse was blown. [The funny part is that they dont even know how to remove the cover - they where studying on my ZMR].

Next, they said they want to make sure the wirings are ok and that they wanted to find out what caused a blown fuse. While driving to the service centre, the display, horn, lights etc all went dead - thankfully i dint turn the ignition off.

Upon reaching the SVC they checked the fuse, but it was ok. They where unable to find any problem with the fuse or wiring. Then they put back the fuse and then it was all back to normal. Everything was working perfectly. They dont know what caused the fuse to blow, the first time and the second time - what was wrong.

I havent gone past 60kmph mark, no sudden throttling, havent washed my ZMR, it wasnt even near any water source.

What is the problem - i dont know - now its working fine. Please tell me what caused the fuse problem???

Today, i will be going to the showroom in person to the showroom to check out the ZMR. If the front looks decent enough and handling, comfort are good (while doing test drive), i will be booking the same. Will post my decision here and i will definitely be needing your support in future as well. Thank you guys.

The 3rd point can be sorted out by adding a rubber washer made out of tire tube yourself.. this helps reduce the rattling sounds from fairing..

the 4th point might be because the bike doesn't have a kick start.. On The Other Hand, most of the bikes these days don't come with kick start anyways.. Many people here like @Divya Sharan still use stock battery on their ZMR and never faced an issue.. correct me if I am wrong..

to tell you the truth, the ZMR is a wonderful piece of machinery with a fair enough Fuel Economy on the highways.. but the new bikes have had some issues and Looks like Hero is looking to rectifying these niggles.. and after noticing the drop in sales, they are looking to redesign the Karizma twins.. expect the new Karizma twins to sport projector

Can be handled. But yes, it irritates initially and once brake pads bed in properly, the sound vanishes. Happens with 99% of bikes with rear discs.

    2. Vibrations at low RPM

That is how the motor is. It has a slight buzz <3k RPM and then >7k RPM. The issue seems magnified later due to loose/broken panels/bad sprockets etc.

    3. Bolts and screws not fit properly leading to noise from the fairing

A faired bike is NEVER vibe free. But ZMRs vibes can be reduced by using rubber tube washers.

    4. Starting trouble due to battery.

The battery doesn't just die out. It gives you at least a week of warning signs. You won't be stranded ALL OF A SUDDEN.

OE battery yes. Stock, no! I replaced mine at ~46k km on the ODO. The second one is doing its duty for almost 30k km now.

My budget is like 1-1.2L INR. I feel that time to get a new bike is at hand - i have been riding a Hunk for the past 5 years. Its a great bike but occasional long distance traveling is very very bad and my back start to hurt after a 20-25kms and i often myself finding for a better riding position.
My first choice was Pulsar 200NS and it costs like 1.11L INR at my place (well within budget). But, my parents don't agree to me as Bajaj don't have resale value and i was forced to hunt for an alternative.
Cosmetics of the bike don't really matter if it has a good riding capabilities, decent power and mileage. Please do suggest on the same.

While at it, please do fill on the issues of ZMR as well - i read a lot of complaints regarding :
    1. screeching noise from rear disc breaks

    2. Vibrations at low RPM

    3. Bolts and screws not fit properly leading to noise from the fairing

    4. Starting trouble due to battery.

Please do shed some light on the same guys. Thanks you

Thank you abhi7013 for replying. I dont really have a liking for karizma, its just that after reading a lot of reviews, i was interested in Pulsar NS200, but my parents dont have a liking towards Bajaj - mostly because of its lack of resale value. So, i was forced to look for an alternative. I found CBR 150R and Karizma ZMR to be good, but CBR costs an extra 30K over ZMR. Now am confused and need your help.
