Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
The right way is to lube the chain (with ignition OFF) by rotating the wheel with one hand and spraying with another. Give the whole chain a good shot and let the bike settle for 4-5 hours before moving out.Originally posted by srikanth kvnap View Post

Thanx a lot boss, good to know new things always. Will try for sure.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostWhy running without the tire hugger? Debris is thrown up right against the rear panels. And if you're one among the adventurous lot then its just a matter of time until you'll be replacing the panels.
And regarding oil splashing use the right kind of oil, I shift between SAE90 and SAE120 gear oil based on where I'm lubing from(Have a bottle of 90 and 120 in KL and KA respectively) I let the rear wheel run in 1st gear and and lube from the outer top portion as its the safest and after a couple of minutes stop the motor and let it stay like that over night, the next day morning everything's fine and settled. Give it a shot.
P.S not intending to criticize your method or anything. Just want to inform you that there is a more cost and time effective alternative.

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Chain lube? Why do people invest so much on the stupid chain, save up for a new chain instead which comes up at 1.1k. The impact of chain life is negligible comparing the time and money spent.Originally posted by srikanth kvnap View PostOk. Let me start with something.
For almost an year U tried motul chain lube spray and I was pretty happy with it.
And then recently I HAD to try tribocor and it was pathetic. It splashes all across the rear, wheels etc. And after a day or two, it gets too sticky and makes the chain rigid. Motul is back in my bag.

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
changing the handle bar in new ZMR is bit difficult, because the distance between rider and handle bar is more and to compensate this the new handle bar has been angled towards the rider. if u use old zmr handle bar which is comparatively straight , the distance increases further and you have to lean more.Originally posted by sri3d View Posthi i own zmr 2014 model some how iam not happy with the posture and handle bars initally it is good but on traffic my palms paining alot so is there a way to raise handle bars a bit or else can old karizma handle suits new zmr pls sugest thanq

In Bold as usual.Originally posted by Greymatter View PostHi, I am posting this on behalf of my friend who took delivery of his ZMR last month :-
1. Is it harmful to fill in slightly thicker oil then recommended in the front forks to make it stiffer?
No issues AFAIK, someone did mention going for Motul and it being stiffer than expected.
2. Can he start using Valvoline Champ 4T 20W40 Semi Synth oil from 1K onwards?
Yeah why not, if you feel like it why not change to it ASAP. The stock oil used to be decent, but I'm not sure how it performs as I heard its not made by Savita anymore.
3. During 1st servicing, the mech told him that one needs to pour 1.2 lt oil after complete dismantle or else 0.9 so will there be any problem if my friend fill 1 lt oil?
Check the manual, the ZMA's have 0.9L refill on oil change, but since the ZMR's have an oil cooler it might be different, plus last time Manesh changed his oil I remember him getting two bottles of Gulf Pride 4T Plus 20W40. Aneesh did the change.
