  • Got a new discover 150f ....

    Hey People !
I am pretty new to biking and i got my discover 150f delivered a couple of days ago.
On the first day , the bike's engine got very hot after riding only for 15-20 mins . I could feel the heat on my legs like heat waves.
i went to the dealer the next day and he said it's normal for a new bike and asked me to remove all the plastic coverings. Did this happen to you guys as well ?

When i start the bike with autostart, it automatically dies immediatley unless i rev a bit, is this normal ?

Can you guys please suggest me things to be careful about in the first 500 km or so ?
like the max and min speed at which it should be driven on each gear ...etc
    Thank You

After second service, the smoothness and power of engine lost, grinding sound from gear box or bottom of the engine is appearing now, gear shifting is not smooth, harshness is felt, no idea what went wrong. Before the 2nd service, bike was running smooth, good pick up, powerful and torque, and settled at 60km/hr just like that, Reaching 60km/hr was piece of cake. Gear shifting was smooth, no harshness or grinding sound beneath engine or gear box. But, after 2nd service, from day 1 after 2nd service, the bikes performance deteriorated suddenly. Even reaching 50km/hr is difficult now, that too with vibration, mileage is reduced. There is a knocking sound arising from engine or gear box, engine is hard now. I have noticed now that Oil leakage from above exhaust connection where bore/top of the engine is connected.

I liked the engine power, smoothness, mileage, torque of this bike. Now, the features, I liked are disappeared suddenly. No idea what went wrong. Is it the nature of Discover 150F Engine quality or something messed up in the 2nd service by Service centre or is it expected behaviour of this bike? There was no sign of any engine problem before 2nd service. I am approaching Service Center few times already, they are yet to attend my bike.

Have anybody faced such problem and solved it? Please share.

i took my bike to service center to see this issue ..,they tightened some scew for air intake but it hasnt helped me yet

my query is .. is it common in all bajaj bikes or its just in my case..

can this be fixed at all ?

Have you tried starting without the choke?

It appears that the carburetor is not tuned properly. Take it to another mechanic(a reputed one) and tell him of the issue.

            Hello all..

My dad is looking for a 150cc bike. He is interested in pulsar 150. I am urging him to get the Discover 150S instead. The dealer told us that the Discover 150S is no longer in production. I just wanted to know if its still in production. And can you guys explain why the Discover 150S is a safer bet than the Pulsar 150?

            Thanks

The thing is, my dad likes bajaj cause they are cheaper to maintain on the long run. Honda spares are kind of an issue. They are costly and quite hard to get. He is also not bothered about the resale values. Just like his previous bike, he is intending to use it to the max. Its either the Discover 150S or the Pulsar 150. I'm not so interested in the latter, though...

dude, but there are innumerable Discovers in market to get spares. even Pulsar 150 or Uni 150 spares should not be a problem.

                    Hi Friends,

Here is my long term report for Bajaj Disco 150S.. I will complete 2 yrs with this bike next month.
I have roughly spent around 5k on servicing till now (about 4-5 services) and no major issues, except I had replaced the handlebar as it was causing shoulder pain, costed 270 Rs.
It has cloaked abt 13500 km till now and running fine.. Approx avg I got was around 50-55 kmpl in city conditions.

It is pretty good commuter bike from Bajaj.. I am happy to own this bike as my first one and was amazed with Bajaj brand..
Those looking to save money and get good bike should go for this bike. though new bikes from Bajaj - Avenger 150 and V15 are now more popular than this Disco 150S.

I m Aditya, from Pune. I have a Discover 150 F bike. Its a very awesome bike. She is 3 years old and odo clicked 35200 kms. I love touring a lot. She gives a mileage of 55kmpl on cruising@70kmph. She can easily cruise@70kmph but when I take her @80kmph i feel like she is not comfortable in cruising @80kmph. I m thinking of overgearing. Which sprocket should i put in rear and front. She is having 43T rear and I think 14T front. Her top speed is only 110kmph😂. I want to increase her top speed. Please help me dear frnds.

Please stick to the latter. Discover does not have that punch or capacity. Actually Bajaj spares are less but they are not durable. Even TVS spares are good and durable.
