Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
Hi All,
I am owner of Bajaj Discover 150S blue color since Nov 2014. It has clocked 5000 km till now. This is my first bike.
I had almost gone for Honda bike, had given booking amount too and then changed my mind to Bajaj discover 150S.
Its pretty good bike for city / highway in Bengaluru. It has given me average of 53-60 km till now consistently.
After my last service and oil change after 4500 km the mileage has come down to 51-53 kmpl.
Overall I am pleased with this bike and hope it will continue to make me happy!! :-)
I have few questions, hope any of you can help me out..
1) Can we change the wind shield for this bike so that it can cover speedo meter and have little space for small cloth used for bike cleaning.!!
2) Changing engine oil to Motul ? will it help in mileage?
3) Filling nitrogen gas in tubeless tyres? Will it help in maintaining bike tyres?
Thanks to all who had posted in this thread.. I have not read all posts yet but will do so.
Thanks again to all,
thp2015

Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
1) I don't know if any other model's windshield matches Discover 150S or not but one thing is sure that 150f's windshield cannot fit in 150s because 150f's windshield is less wider.
2) Changing engine to Motul would be a good choice though it doesn't help in mileage. I am myself using Motul 3100 on my 150s right now.

Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
Yes after 5000+ km mileage is really getting low..i m having same discover 150s blue i have crossed 9400km and i m having mileage of 52 as i commute 15km in city and 35 highway daily.
It is really very low as i am expected from DISCOVER series bike because it is nearly same as in any 150 cc bikes. On my 3rd service at 10000km i will sure going to ask this at service center

Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
Does anybody having back pain after riding this bike?
I started having back pain after a week of riding. Bike is one month old.
If I stop using this bike for couple of days, back pain reduces gradually. My height is 5.6
I am riding bike for many years, this is the first time I have back pain after this bike.
Anyone faced such pain and solved it ?
Appreciate your reply.

I am using for more than 6 months.. no back pain due to riding however if I drive in heavy traffic in Bengaluru for 20-30 km then i do have shoulder pain mostly on left shoulder.Originally posted by blogya View PostDoes anybody having back pain after riding this bike?

Are you maintaining the air pressure in tyres correctly?
I suggest you go to service center and discuss your issue they can tune the suspension to your need. I also feel that mono suspension on this bike is not very good.
only hope is we have good roads!! that will not happen soon either..!!

Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
Thanks for your reply. Good to see the support from owners. It was due to tyre pressure, 35 was the pressure at back. After start keeping to what mentioned in manual, now i am relieved from back pain. In the efforts to rectify it, i added additional additional cusion to the seat. I should have read the manual. It is mentioned 32 to with pillan and 28 without pillan in manual.Originally posted by thp2015 View PostI am using for more than 6 months.. no back pain due to riding however if I drive in heavy traffic in Bengaluru for 20-30 km then i do have shoulder pain mostly on left shoulder.

Now dont feel the hard hit at back at bumpy roads. Feel soft.
I went 200km round trip in this bike with few breaks after first service, did not feel pain in hands or back.Last edited by blogya; 07-26-2015, 02:49 PM.

When i was holding my lunch bag at left handlebar, i had pain in my left palm after riding for a while. I stopped holding the bag at left handle bar. It gave me some disturbance to reaching cletch.
Do you hold anything in left side of handlebar?

I am holding laptop bag on my both shoulder but not on only left hand alone.Originally posted by blogya View PostWhen i was holding my lunch bag at left handlebar, i had pain in my left palm after riding for a while. Such shoulder pain only happens in heavy traffic of Bengaluru.. If I drive on highway like NICE road then no such pain in shoulder.
I think it may be due to more usage of clutch in traffic..Bajaj bikes dont have right angle of handle bar..!! OR may be due to my height and bike handle bar are not perfect.. I am 5 ft 5 inch tall..

Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
Hi Everybody,
I just joined this site today only as I am really convinced about the real reviews here.I am planning to buy discover 150f in 1 or 2 days.I have read all 22 pages on this thread and got to know various experiences with phoenix.Though found most of them positive with one or two exceptions.
I need bike only for city riding in ncr traffic. So with the features, looks, power, mileage and cost,I found this bike is the best combination among hero, bajaj, honda in my opinion for city riding with approx 125-150 cc segment. As per I read, this is what you guys found :-
Throttle good for 0-60 kmph after that a bit slow for 60-90.
Vibes starts at 70.
Mileage around 50-55 in city.
Half fairing shakes a bit after say 8000 kms.
Mono-suspension is average.Engine oil needs to be changed from bajaj to any other say motul.
I had unicorn previously where honda had quicker services than bajaj's km duration. So is it possible to have quick services free or paid at bajaj svc with your choice rather than the mentioned ones.??
Is there any chance of engine getting choked or producing intolerable vibes after say 5 years or 50000 kms as I have heard bajaj bikes are not that durable??
Any other observation needs to be kept in mind while buying the bike??
And thanks for the thread I feel i know my bike much before buying it.

Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
RamboG: Discover series are fun inside city but will not be that fun on highways. My bike gives 45-50 inside city & 53+ on highway when you ride under 80kmph. I too have faring vibes but it is not been resolved by bajaj service guys. Get it done from outside. Covered 12.6k as of now. After 4th service, have to change engine oil to motul 5100 20w50 semi synthetic.
Btw you had a unicorn in past, why are you coming back to 150cc segment again?Failure should never go to heart & success should never go to head, both makes a person to fall in life-Winston Churchill

What happened to your unicorn?
I received comments from my friends as I should have bought unicorn, saying it has resale value and riding comfort.
I never ride unicorn, no idea about difference.
Hope you could distinguish discover 150f and unicorn.
This bike seat is length, if you are married, having kids and all, this bike is very comfortable to dump your family. No squeezing, Everybody can sit relaxed. Long seat. Surplus torque. But poor mono suspension. I will never buy mono suspension bikes henceforth.
Anybody here, adjusted suspension?
It will not disappoint you on highways, but this is not made for Highway cruising. Shaky against cross wind.
As far as city, it is a good bike, no way inferior to other 150cc bikes.
While, overtaking, zip zag turning remember it's length.
Engine performs better when completing 2000km.
I clocked 1800km so far, mine is two months old bike.Last edited by blogya; 09-12-2015, 11:51 PM.
