Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
Do read the manual and you will get knowledge about the bike. Get all the tools and try to DIY.. - Since the bike is ridden in choke , I guess the spark plug may have fouled - open and see it, replace if necessary. Also I suggest checking the engine oil level in the dipstick, if oil is low it will kill the engine. Thirdly check the Fuel filter in the petcock, it may have clogged leading to the sluggishness in acceleration. Finally you can check the air filter ( I dont think it will be dirty at 3000kms)Originally posted by santhoshdas View Post--------------------------------------------------------------

Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
Thank you very much @dude_Creative
i will do all that you have suggested..... one more thing about the manual/service book.
i have got DISCOVER 150S manual with the bike, the previous owner said that is what he got with the bike it seems.....
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
@rajdip.rd bro i spoke to Bajaj Service Center,Peenya-Bangalore they said there will be some problem in air intake so they have asked me to leave the bike..
i am giving bike for service on SUNDAY.
i asked the service guy "why the engine over heats very quickly ?" he said all the new models in bajaj will heat quickly...
is it true.....??

Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
After crossing 8,500 kms the faring is giving some buzzing sound. This occurs on speed of 50-60 kmph. Does any one experience it in F & S variant?

Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
I don't know why this bike is so underrated. In my opinion, it is a better performer than Yamaha FZ and Fazer (All Versions). It is better than any Pulsar 150 Model below 2013.
In terms of Mileage, this bike delivers a true 50+ KMPL at default tuning (Neither Rich nor Lean mixture) no matter how rash you drive.
Bajaj Discover 150S Performance
----------------
Bike Used: Bajaj Discover 150S (After 1st Service)
Conditions under which these are tested = 24 Front Tyre Pressure, 30 Rear Tyre Pressure (Solo). A little Lean Carburetor Tuning
0-60 KM/H - 5 Seconds
0-80 KH/H - 9 Seconds (+4 Seconds from 60 km/h)
0-90 KM/H - 14 Seconds(+5 Seconds from 80 km/h)(+9 Seconds from 60 km/h)
0-100 KM/H - 17 Seconds (+3 Seconds from 90 km/h)(+8 Seconds from 80 Km/h)(+12 Seconds from 60 Km/h)
-------------------
Top Speed is around 125 km/h and not 110 km/h!
Tested and Proved on Discover 150F
Yamaha FZ 16 and V2.0 Performance
-------------------
0-60 Km/h - 5.5 Seconds
0-100 Km/h - 18.6 Seconds
Top Speed is around 120 Km/h
-------------------
Bajaj Discover 150F/S Common Problems & Their Solutions
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Mileage Problem - Ask the Service Center Mechanic to tune carburetor for Mileage. (Please keep in mind that Total Reserve is 3.5L out of which 2L is unusable. So total usable fuel is only 8L)
2. Vibrations - Completely Change your engine oil to 15W50 or 20W50 Max grade semi-synthetic engine oil. I recommend Motul 5100 15W500 (Cost is around Rs. 550).
- Change Oil Filter.
- Tight all nut bolts. Lubricate Chain with Chain Spray. Completely release clutch after changing gear (2nd Onwards) and then throttle the bike according to your need.
3. Idle RPM - Adjust the Carburetor Spring-Like screw to Clockwise. It is located above right side of the engine where Kick Start is located.Last edited by San Jay Vig; 05-29-2015, 07:53 PM.

Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
True. But I don't know how they're going to detect which Engine Oil you've used because every engine oil becomes dark brown and it is impossible to distinguish by just looking at it.Originally posted by rajdip.rd View PostGreat info..i have 2 problem with my discover 150S mileage and vibration

Bajaj Engine Oils are pure bullshit. They generate many problems and are quickly drained.Last edited by San Jay Vig; 05-29-2015, 10:18 PM.

Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
Hi, Discover 150F/S owners,
I am riding discover 100. I am planning to upgrade to 150cc / higher cc bike.
Few questions about this discover 150F/S, your answer will be helpful to decide whether to buy it or not.
Assume that I maintain wheel air pressure as prescribed and use normal engine oil recommended by Bajaj.
1) What is it's cruising speed with pillion (without any vibration or stress to engine - sweet spot of engine)?
2) Upto what speed, it has crisp throttle response?
3) At what km/hr this bike starts to vibrate, stress to engine starts?
4) Do you notice a difference in mileage when riding with pillion and without pillion at same speed - say 60km/hr? ( I do not ask about your average mileage )
5) At light throttling or just opening of throttle, my current bike slowly pick up the speed and settles at 40 km/hr in 4th gear with ease- no high revving. At what speed 150F/S settle for light throttling in 5th gear? let it pick up the speed slowly.
I have no complaints with my current bike as long as I travel with 40 - 55 km/hr. Beyond, that it vibrates a lot, and it take its own time to claim up.
It gives different mileage without pillion and with pillion. No idea, whether it is behaviour of bajaj discover bikes or applicable to all 100 CC bike. In the last 5 years I did not ride any other bikes apart from Bajaj stock. Past CT100, now discover 100.
As far as commuting to office, it is very good. As far as maintenance, this is 8th wonder bike, trully no maintenance apart from servicing at regular intervals. But weekend outing and highway riding, it lacks. Sometimes, I notice that splendour and passions bikes travel at above 60+ on highway where my discover 100 struggles to go beyond 60km/hr.
I have shortlisted GS150R, Unicorn, and Bullet.
I test ride 150S. But not able understand anything since my test ride was over before reaching 3rd gear. Few things I noticed is, its saddle height is little bit reduced, and reaching the handle bar - distance to rider and handle bar - is reduced when compare to discover 100.
So, your answers from your first hand experience ( no assumption or guessing ), will help me to decide whether to continue with bajaj or switch to other company.
Thanks

above 80 km/hOriginally posted by blogya View Post3) At what km/hr this bike starts to vibrate, stress to engine starts?
Reduced by nearly 1-2 KM/L.Originally posted by blogya View Post4) Do you notice a difference in mileage when riding with pillion and without pillion at same speed - say 60km/hr? ( I do not ask about your average mileage )
Believe it or not. You will reach 0-60 nearly as a R15
You go as low as 35 Km/H at 5th Gear smoothly.
Is this your third free service? They're going to charge you around 2K this time.Originally posted by rajdip.rd View PostBut now i have done 8100km and at 10000km i have to change oil as per bajaj service.. So should i change entire oil for next 1900 km??
Also, I recommend changing Bajaj oil as soon as possible but if you're going to get your bike serviced after next 1900 KM, why don't you give Motul a try right now?
