Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
I've heard that higher octane fuels prevent detonation, carbon deposists and ckeep the engine clean. I've filled in 1.48L of 93 octane petrol right now. Let's see if there's any change in the performance or so.
Also, Mileage I've tested is 58 and reserve was still not activated. So I guess it would go upto 62-65.

Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
I guess 93 octane is the best fuel we can have for motorcycles above 125cc. Our combustion chamber compression ratio is quite high. And I got 93 Octane in Delhi.
P.S: Super bikes doesn't use 93 octane these days. They even go more than 100 octane number fuel.Last edited by San Jay Vig; 12-06-2014, 12:50 AM.

Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
Guys, these bikes are normal commuters. The bikes which have Fuel-Injection might need 97 octane petrol. So it's your wish to put either 91 or 97 octane. The best way to calculate mileage is tank full to tank full.Failure should never go to heart & success should never go to head, both makes a person to fall in life-Winston Churchill

Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
Before some time I m complaining about poor milege of my discover 150S now I know what happened
It is not reduction in mileage but it's reduction of fuel in fuel tank..ya..I m using shell super from I bought this bike..but after see everyone using normal petrol so I also think to use normal petrol..and I change petrol pump from shell to IOC and I feel up 150 rs petrol and my mileage goes down to 54 (from 58) then I fill 1L petrol and mileage is 51..
So I think something going wrong and last week I go back to shell and fill up 1L and I got mileage of 60..
So i m not telling quality difference but IOC is cheat with fuel QUANTITY. .
I also read in xbhp about how petrol pump holders cheat us and also there is a video on whatsapp and youtube..so I know that is the reason its not my bikes mileage its quantity of fuel reduced.Last edited by rajdip.rd; 12-06-2014, 12:27 PM.

Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
Now I decided to fill only shell super..Originally posted by Anuj_Gupta View PostIoc is the biggest fraudster in oil market.
I would choose to go 10 kms more to fill petrol rather than using ioc.
