Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
Hello friends..
1.My discovers mileage reduces constantly..before 1 month I measured it 58...then last week I measured 56 and yesterday it is 51 all this is mileage on highway.
I ride it normally at 60kmph..sometime for overtaking 70kmph..always maintain tyre pressure.
2.yesterday when I clock 80kmph some embarrassing noise of vibration from the front end and dashboard I heard..
Don't know whats going wrong with my bike..

But it is very bad sound like I have to stop the throttle at 75-80kmph speed..i think I should go to service centre and check for any fitting is loose or not..Originally posted by deep007 View PostDon't worry it is just plastic vibration

Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
Congrats! Welcome to the club. It's very common in all discovers for the gear shift. Don't worry.Originally posted by rajdip.rd View PostHello friends I am Rajdip new here.I have 2.5 month old discover 150s blue colour. I almost clock 3000km..because my daily commute is about 45 km..
I am feeling that shift gear from 1st to neutral and 1st to 2nd is somewhat clunky..
and before sometime my gear paddle is comes outside when I m riding..then I go to sservice station and tightened the bolt of gear paddle..
Congrats! Welcome to the club. This bike does not have a tachometer so it's difficult for first time user to judge the rpm. Do keep it under 60.Originally posted by San Jay Vig View PostSir I got my new discover 150s and on the first day the engine emitted fumes and tends to turn off after a 25km constant run. Though it was the delivery man's fault that he didn't took out the first aid kit from below the airflow pipe under the seat. I am worried whether it had any impact on the engine or not, though the bike is running fine and I've made 1000+ kms already.
One more thing is that my bike isn't delivering the common mileage of 50+. It never rose above 37. Please help me guys.
I use a D-150 F but i don't get that kinda sound.Originally posted by San Jay Vig View PostI got it checked and they said fumes were due to unused fuel in the engine and carburator. Everything is fine.
Can anyone tell me why the engine sound becomes more screechy and different after riding for 5-10kms at 60-70 km/h?
Shell petrol is good. Do fill with regular petrol coz this bike does not need 97 octane petrol. My D-150 F gives 55 inside city.Originally posted by rajdip.rd View PostIs use of shell POWER petrol is good or it gives any advantage IN MILEAGE or engine or normal petrol is enough?

Does 93 octane petrol available? AFAIK 91 & 97 octane petrol available in country. If available do correct me.Originally posted by San Jay Vig View PostDoes using 93 octane petrol affect the performance or mileage in any way?
The vibes are common for a new bike. The 4 valve discover units are not much refined units.Originally posted by rajdip.rd View PostHello friends..

For the vibes, Get to svc & tightened all the screws & try to put double tape to reduce vibes.Originally posted by rajdip.rd View PostThanks Mr.ACE

Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
I have gone to svc but response is not so good from mechanics they say its okay no problem its happened carelessly..but at other garage I ask and that person say that if the sound is from dashboard from speedometer then its harmfull..today also checked when I am riding to clg..almost 5 to 6 km I ride it at 70-80kmph..nd that sound again come..and when I hold dashboard it reduced..when I told that about reduce voice when holding then svc boy says then put cleaning clothe there
..
Is it solution..what eligible mechanics appointed by Bajaj..

Re: Bajaj Discover 150S & 150F
I suspect that this noise is new and wasn't present earlier. If that is the case, it happens when the screws tightening the windshield to the fairing get slightly loose. Get them tightened and the noise will go away.Originally posted by rajdip.rd View PostI have gone to svc but response is not so good from mechanics they say its okay no problem its happened carelessly..but at other garage I ask and that person say that if the sound is from dashboard from speedometer then its harmfull..today also checked when I am riding to clg..almost 5 to 6 km I ride it at 70-80kmph..nd that sound again come..and when I hold dashboard it reduced..when I told that about reduce voice when holding then svc boy says then put cleaning clothe there
