Completed 1000 kms & first service
.Initial report for Phoenix aka Discover 150-F
Design:
The quarter fairing in discover series look unique. The side panels merge with the tank & some what look like P-220 from side angle. The D 150-F comes with analog-partly digital console which has speedometer in analog & odometer, trip meter & clock in digital readout. The tail light is a LED unit which comes in F variant only.
Engine & it's performance:
The bike comes with 144.8cc with 14.5 ps@ 8500 rpm & 12.75 nm @ 6500 rpm. This one is also four-valve like other discovers which helps the engine to breath easily. As far i have ridden up-to 60 kmph, there are some noticeable vibes. Gear box is 5-speed which is all up pattern. The 1st & 2nd are close ratio to which you can take it to 25 kmph. After that it's pickup is superb which is good for city ride.
Handling & Brakeing:
The bike comes with regular front telescopic suspension & rear mono shock with gas canister which helps the handling better in & around corner. While travelling with pillion, the rear suspension is bit stiff than going solo. A good support from front 80/100-17 & rear 100/90-17 mrf tubeless tires in handling department. The front brake is larger petal disc of 240mm. Front brake is spongy till now.
Initial impression:
This is my second bike after D135-v1. This is way good than my old discover in terms of performance, handling & looks. Only thing is the tachometer is missing in D150-F. Bajaj should have given the analog speedometer to tachometer & a small digital speedometer inside the digi-readout.
