I read in Duke 200 thread just a couple of days before. He has changed the stock filters to K&N stock replacement filter. I think there should not be much difference in location of air filter between Duke and RC.

Search online for K&N authorized dealers near you and check with SVC whether they will help you with the mod. Get the filter from the dealer and give it SVC for a replacement.

from what I know, K&N filters have bigger holes than the stock air filter, hence more air in the engine. and more air = more dust inside (faster engine wear & oil wear, reduced mileage is also what I've heard), but more pick up (but no difference is what people say) & the different (better?) exhaust note.. Honorable mention - warranty voiding..

Just thinking of doing some 'real' mods on the bike.

The air filter cannot be accessed unless you remove the tank cover.

Btw I've had 2 services on my bike and it has run around 9000kms and the air filter wasnt changed in any of the services. Should that be a concern?

I believe it is scheduled for 10000kms without cleaning.it can take that much load.one of my friend had it and service won't clean it until asked but they charge some 300 bucks for it.however its not necessary till 10000kms.correct me If I am wrong though

I dont think they would have cleaned it. I dont think they did anything other than changing the oil!

Yes they will not clean it until asked.I think the manual says 10000kms.could you check once .if it says to clean get hold of the service xentre for cleaning of it.

Service centers are practically lazy.. not exactly lazy, there might be couple of theories..

                      1) if the vehicle gets spoilt soon, more business for them
                      2) the folks who get trained, won't train the others properly so that they know everything and others should always come to them
                      3) the folks who get trained decide what needs to be trained to the others..

ideally, it's all written in the service schedule what to do and what not to do.. just make sure you check them all off.. and you should be done and good..

Not at all.you have every right to complain.and service will actually take you seriously if you complain to them.
You should definitely write a mail .and trust me next day you will get a call and you will be treated like a VIP. Because they know if again they mess and you complain they are pretty much history.
So make sure you complain and write a good logical mail.

the air filter i think is supposed to be changed at every service. the spark plug is optional.

I'll+1 that.. Didn't change it and only blow cleaned it last service and I'm not happy..

Point to remember. Always change the air filter, oil filter and fuel filter every service.. Spark plug every alternative..

Hey guys...I was just wondering whether angel lights could be installed on KTM rc 200... Should the entire projector bulbs be replaced? Or only the rings could be added to the existing bulbs? Also, Can I change my head light bulbs to LED's? Will this affect my bike's battery? Any suggestion is appreciated thank you!!!
