Thank you guys for all the help! Both the email IDs^^ do wonders! Send an email at around 6.30 Friday, got calls from both Bajaj and KTM within 15 minutes. My Saturday wake call was from KTM Marathahalli SVC informing me that the replacement part has arrived, please come and fix.

Went there and SA said we got the part today and started the blame game. He said, "I read your complaint, you have mentioned only about SVC not them. When we place orders they don't bother but when a customer raise complaint they will do it overnight". I simply said, I only deal with you, you are the person in charge so my complaint was on you.

Since this was a complaint and he was on trouble, the work carried out was no better. I wish not to go to this SVC again, even for the regular service. Please suggest me a best SVC in bangalore guys.

Hi All, Have been following this thread for months and very mich determined to get a RC200 by Jan. But as the day nears lots of inputs from my friends and family is causing me to have second thoughts..

Please clear some of my doubts:
1.How does RC fair when it comes to city commuting. By this I mean heavy traffics like that of Chennai and Banglore.
2.My office is about 15kms from my home. The route includes freeway and city traffic. Will a monthly budget of 3k be enough when it comes to fuel cost. Including weekend rides.
3.The next big worry is the maintenance amd service quality and cost. I could see that most of the KTM SVC are not equpped with skilled labour to handle RC and also am seeing that the quality of parts made or not top notch (i know few may disagree 2L being a premium segment with likes of Benelli and Kawasaki flyin around. I know but IT IS in my POV). Will I regret choosing RC for this?
4.None of my friends own a KTM (I know thats sad) so not able to come to a decision.
      5.My options at present are

      1.RS200(Crappy Bajaj)
      2.Honda CBR250 ABS(Kindof looks outdate IMO)
3.R15(Outdated and nowhere near RC but only sporty bike thatbI can consider in my budget)

      And ofcourse baby RC

Would really be thankfull for your suggestions and guidence

I'm not sure, but heavy traffic, it will take a toll on you due to it's aggressive stance, but I manage well in Hyderabad traffic by starting a bit earlier than the peak our & reach my destination.
2.My office is about 15kms from my home. The route includes freeway and city traffic. Will a monthly budget of 3k be enough when it comes to fuel cost. Including weekend rides.
my office is about 20 kms and only city riding.. took time to get used to the stance.. but now I'm comfortable.. let's put a math up, 15kms = 30 kms per day = 1 liter approx per day. assuming you work monday to friday, that's 5 liters a week & 20 liters a month.. 20*70 = 1400.. not bad.. and weekend rides, depends on your distance & fuel consumption.. don't keep any budget for them.. this is not a tourer.. I did 800 kms nonstop this sunday & I'm still recovering..
3.The next big worry is the maintenance amd service quality and cost. parts are cheap.. quality is ok.. but you got bajaj everywhere.. and if you maintain the bike well, it'll be just fine.. you don't have to worry much.. the bike is not made for abuse (no bike is but some are tougher and RC is certainly not)
4.None of my friends own a KTM (I know thats sad) so not able to come to a decision.
Why sad? be happy to be the first one in the group to own a KTM!!!
        5.My options at present are

        1.RS200(Crappy Bajaj)
but good for city & Tracks, maybe touring due to less aggressive stance.
        2.Honda CBR250 ABS(Kindof looks outdate IMO)
        good for touring
3.R15(Outdated and nowhere near RC but only sporty bike thatbI can consider in my budget)
good for city & touring & tracks
        And ofcourse baby RC
she'll just be a girlfriend & not a wife.. short distances - great.. tracks - nothing to beat.. touring - upto 200-300 kms you can manage as your body would have adjusted.. heavy traffic - nope.. you will end up tiring yourself to the core..
Would really be thankfull for your suggestions and guidence
        You're welcome

1.I have a daily commute of almost 40-60kms to and from some through heavy traffic and some through highways, and there is never a day i get tired of riding it. That said, the position is pretty uncomfortable and will take time getting used to but once you do get used to it, riding it will be walk in the park.
          2. My rc gives an efficiency of 33kmpl in the mixed cycle with me revving it hard most of the time so according to my calculations it will be in your budget of 3k to do monthly commute.
          3. You have to get the SVC guys to work for you, sit on their head everytime you have a problem and keep bugging them until it is solved. Indore has probably the worst svc but i still manage to get him to work for me whenever a problem arises.
          4. If you find rc a bit too much than you can go for rs200 as it is definitely a really good bike and breaks away from the stereotypes of crappy bajaj. Cbr250 is just plain outdated and should be chosen only if you plan to tour a lot. R15 is slow.
Also I've even toured on my rc200 a lot and it is a good tourer too if you have the bones to do it.
I had the same questions you had when i thought of buying the rc200 but there is never a moment I've regretted owning it. NEVER.

Was a bit busy with office works for a couple of days now, thanks to the christmas season and the rush to get the works done before the season closedown. The stress and tension was too much that i finally decided i needed to let off the steam a little, and go off grid. Coincidentally a couple of friends were coming to some resort located somewhere deep amidst the tea estates and reserve forest of munnar, kerala. So i called them up and said that i would be coming over to meet them and that set the weekend plan.

The plan was to meet them , have an hour or two of fun with them and then move in the direction of chinnar wildlife sanctuary (the plan got spoiled when somehow the rear tyre lost all its air in it, leading me to panic that its a puncture or a bent alloy for worse)

instead i chose to stay for the night , where we went for a small night safari to see wild elephants coming out of the jungle to have a drink from a small river that was passing through nearby.

and coming to how the flat tyre scene was solved; thankfully my friends who had come in a car had a portable tyre inflator in the boot, which we used to refill the tyre in a couple of minutes.

and then started back the return trip to home via another route keeping fingers crossed that the tyre doesn't go flat again, but just to be safe my friends decided that they would follow me all the way to kochi to make sure i reach home safely, which happened to be a detour of almost 150 odd kms to their hometown.

Funny thing is that when i reached home i checked for any kind of punctures or leaks of any kind, but didn't find any.

            P.S.

got the raccoon a small goodie unfortunately happened to fit it right in time for the rains and thunderstorms to hit my town :/

              hey abhi,
I got my machine just one month back...even i had to undergo the same dilema in all the points of yours...

              1. I drive in Bangalore, the traffic is much similar to that of chennai or even worse...yes i agree its painfull (especially your palms, back and shoulders) but you ll get used to it and also it depends from person to person...i didnt feel much of pain in my back and shoulders, but palms yes it pains..but now its comparabbly much lesser than the initail days.
              2. I drive 30kms from home to office(so 60kms in total)...and yes it ll fit your budget very well...i drive almost in all kinds of road (highways, ordinary street and worst condition with a lot of pathholes) during my commute to office...the rc as you know doesnt like bad roads but its manageable..
3.Quality is Ok...but service you should make them do it well for the love of the bike...so its on you ...as said by Ishaan sit on their head...
4.You will Be proud of owning The RC...coz its got a styling of no other bike in this segment .. (simply GETHU!!)
              5. Even i had the same options in my mind during my purchase....
CBR250 was my first option among all....yes it has an ABS and better ergonomics...for me price was a major factor....and as you stated heavily outdated...so later decided even if i had that much money i would rather go for the RC390..(ended up with RC200...though)..
R15 less power...it looses with the RC on looks
RS200 is actually good bike comparable to the others since you get an ABS and a 200cc engine at very economic prize..but personally i dont like the fairing and the style...the RC is a sports machine...you take a corner(though i am not a pro in cornering just a newbie) you end up with a big smile on your face..thats the impact it gives..

Go for test drives on all the bikes...comfort depends from person to person...so its not that the RC will be painfull for everyone...
              All teh best ..

              Cheers
The closer you are to death, the more alive you feel. -RUSH

                  Guys,

I am pissed of to the core with KTM Marathahalli, Bangalore SVC. After getting my bike from the SVC which was given to replace the broken reservoir tank and adjust the chain.

Few observations in these three days after getting the bike:
High vibrations on the gear lever and rear brake lever. Please try this on yours and let me know, while bike is idling in neutral, just press/lift the gear lever gently till it stops (don't engage any gear, "gently"). I feel grinding vibration, like a mild earthing shock. This happens only when the bike is idling (rolling or stand still) in neutral or when clutch engaged on a gear and let the bike to roll freely. When the gear is engaged and riding I feel excess vibration on rear brake pedal.

Petrol stolen. I was able smell Petrol near the cap area when I took delivery, but ignored it. Just after 150 KMs after my last full tank, today hit the reserve, which I have never experienced in this one year.

Chain is still loose after their claimed adjustment.

Radiator fan sound is different. Just let the bike to idle, once the fan starts, turn on the headlight in high beam. You could hear the load distribution and the fan sound will be bit different. This is the sound I am now hearing even when the headlight is not switched on.

Coolant level is just above the low level marking on the reservoir tank.

Please give me your inputs on what to do or am I overreacting after the recent incident with Customer Care and SVC.

That's a terrible service centre to give your bike.I used to go there when I had pulsar 180 as they also service Bajaj bikes.their service is next to pathetic and also the way they handle the bike brings tears to the eyes

Thanks for all your response guys really appreciate it. Your response had made me decide to GO with my "DARKANGEL" RC200 .

I visited a showroom of a Dealer near me to ask regarding Loan details when I noticed a RC came in for service. I was soeaking with the owner and he was saying that the ride is awesome amd its been 5months since he started riding it. I could see the precious black colour faded in many areas like near the foot rest, the ankle guard i think (xcuse me : not sure of the term [emoji14]) it was faded and luking all ugly in silverish coat.

Is it normal? Will my DARKANGEL lose its ALL BLACK eventually which is the one of the awesome feature she's got?

Please console me if thats gonna be the way its gonna turn out cause thers no looking back from now.

ID:	1925262 are you talking about this? This is called heel plates and as you can clearly see the colour on it is not worn out. Also to assure ylu, i've had my bike for 8 months and have covered 13k kms on it. Also no other places are fading.

Yes, the paint just goes away over time and you can see the aluminium. This happens only on that particular piece because of the stones and other hard materials stuck in your shoes that scratch it out. It's not something you should be concerned about. You can spray paint it yourself or just get that replaced. I think it costs around 500-1000.

I've had my RC390 for just over 10 months and mine has lost quite a lot of paint on the right side but it isn't really visible unless observed closely.

thanks for the response thought I was goin crazy fr a min there [emoji14] So just to clarify does the black fade away in due course or it only gets chipped away when exposed to scratches caused by stones and grainy sand? if so i will be careful on roads and check nd clean my shoes soles every now nd then..
