Ajay Vishwanath , shit happens bro.the ASS guys are very lousy.fault is Bajaj.
The most terrible SVC I ever saw is Bajaj.(not the KTM).
Bro any plans of coming to Bangalore.I know couple of SVC guys.they are real good and they are very knowledgeous. They find and fix the issue with no questions asked.I cam patch you up with them.and those 2 guys knows in and out about the ktms so it wouldn't be a problem to fix.I once told him that can this issue be fixed and the reply o got from them was "There is nothing that can't be fixed in Duke/RC" that's the best answer you can get from SVC guy and he actually meant it.
Amy probability you can visit Bangalore .then we can show it to him and he will definitely fix any issue you have in the bike

Please complaint to ktm and describe each event to them. You have paid 2L not to waste time at SVC, this was the only reason i sold my duke 390 but in my case SVC mechanics were good but every now and then new issue used to come up and i was frustrated to visit SVC regularly.

Hey Xplod5666, I'm from Bangalore can you patch me with these folks dude? I had my fair share of issues with Marathahalli SVC, a couple of pages before you could see my sad stories.

Ajay, I'm very sorry to hear about your story. We got to do something, online petition? I'm ready to be a part of any actions you take against SVCs, not just Bajaj or KTM.

- First svc done at KTM Banjara Hills (heard they are good and blah blah)
- Time for Second Service, took 1 WEEK prior appointment and on the exact day, they gave a lame excuse "the mechanic is on leave coz he went to a marriage. The other mechanic is very busy and loaded with bikes". then why the hell don't you have a third mechanic or increase the capacity!?!??!? don't you know how many bikes you are getting daily and how many you are able to service and how many stations you need???? or are you blind/deaf/dumb and senseless!?!??! and finally he replied to me on my face "we will NOT service your bike sir".
- went to Begumpet, they did it for me.. lazy folks, won't start until it's 11-12 in the day!!!! and finish the job lousy and half in "hurried" fashion to cover bikes quickly!!!
- new showroom opened at A S Rao Nagar, one of the experienced mechanic at Begumpet is posted over there. Hence, they told me to go there AFTER like 11 AM and I was wasting my time for 2 hours standing in the line to get my bike serviced..
- third service, it went well..
- 4th service, he screwed up with the screws on the fairing and the bolts came off
- Shocks are not as good as they used to be.. hence went to another new showroom that recently opened, KTM Kompally.. they said that the shocks need to be replaced under warranty and took all details and stuff.. they seemed genuine.. and told me to call back after 1 week.. and when I called back, *POOF* new staff and they have NO IDEA about what's going on.. left that place hopeless... the old staff changed my fork oil, surprisingly the oil they charged me was lower than the quantity from the book.. that I realized AFTER I came home.. and now the shocks are rock hard and move only on high impact and would simply transfer the regular shocks on to me..
- the Begumpet & the A S Rao Nagar KTM are same dealer from who I purchased, started following up for 3 weeks and this dude says, "since you got your bike serviced from the other guy last, go to him and he will find a "fix" for you" and I was like "wtf??!" "hey, I went there coz you told me to!!" "yes anna, but I can't do anything coz he did it" *POOF* washed his hands off of the matter, after I lost my cool, I told him that I've been following up for 3 bloody weeks and why the hell is he making me suffer for two bloody bolts!!! and then magically the bolts appear with a price tag of 40 bucks... had to pay for them.. or my bike just won't shut the hell up!!!

I've had my share of bad experience at the service center..

my observations:

- Nobody wants to service the bikes
- they just don't want customers coming in
- they only want to have fun and simply sit
- and they complain to me that they are getting paid low wages (5K to 6K) per month and ask me "how can you expect quality??"

well, if you do your job properly, you will get more $$$, you get paid just the way you work.. fair enough.. but who is the end sufferer?? ME!!!! NOT BAJAJ/KTM!!! They made their sales and washed off their hands..

at the time of buying, the attitude of the manager, awesome.. he said "don't waste time in checking the bike for 1.5 hours" well, my bike, my wish, I check her for as long as I want and I didn't pay you 2 lakhs for nothing!!!

somehow, they still manage to make the sales with the most pathetic after sales support...

upon inquiry, this is a problem with ALL brands, Honda was way worse, he simply said, "sir your bike is too old, change it, fixing it won't do, stop wasting your time and my time", well, there's a reason why I pay you for your "service" you n00b!!! feel like burning their building down and smile as they cry that their investment is hurt... now that might just give me some satisfaction...

Hey sorry to hear man!! i know the feeling how you must be feeling, but if you happen to come to Thane (KTM service guy Rajesh) he is the best and can get your bike serviced.. You can also call me Suraj 9689773554 that's my number, before coming just message me.

Thanks man... yes, if I swing by, I'll certainly pay you a visit.. but I doubt these guys can resolve anything with the bike without inspecting it.. yes, anything can be fixed if the mechanic is knowledgeable..

yeah, I'll do that.. then the problem with these guys is that they might stop accepting my bike completely for the complaint if I put it on...

bro, there's nothing wrong with the bike, just the attitude and the ideology of these svc guys.. I wish that can be fixed...

I don't think they would do that after you have made a complaint to Bajaj/KTM. There are quite a few people here who got what they deserved (which is good service) by complaining directly to the manufacturer. To be fair though, the people at Bajaj/KTM can only lay down guideline and perform occasional checks at the SVC. They wouldn't know anything to be amiss unless we the customers point it out. Try that out, if it sorts out your issue, you'll be able to enjoy the bike again! Just saying, I know you are probably drained of your patience.
Must ride on!

Take it to a svc and tell him the issue, its a oil related thing i guess. (i may be wrong) .

Clean chain, and when was the last oil change done , if its more than 2500kms, Do it.
Check chain slack and make sure its within company specs.

The best thing that you can do is , fire an email to KTM and post in on their FB page, you will get a call, reply and main within 24 hours. especially posting on their FB page will get you a better response, (at-least for me worked twice ) , arguing with the SVC guys is total waste of time.

7 months back ,I had a problem with my bike regarding bike not starting during a Saturday night while i was outside, called up their official number for orange assist and got a reply saying we cant do anything until Monday. Luckily i had got the bike fixed by a local mechanic, but the problem occurred again the next day, so i blasted them on their Facebook page and sent a mail. The next day i got a call and they asked me to take the bike to the nearest service center, and my bike was thoroughly checked and fixed, without me paying a single penny, since then i haven't faced much issues other than loose side stand ,low battery

Last service/oil change done exactly 2000 km ago, Chain cleaned and lubed 400 km ago, will check for slack and take it to svc this weekend. BTW is it necessary to change the oil ~2.5k km? The manual mentions 7.5k which i think is ridiculous but i always thought it was optimal changing it around 5k km.

I think you are using FS oil hence the long oil change intervals.
I forgot to mention about clutch freeplay. How much is clutch free play ?
It should be 1-2cm at lever
No play = burnt clutch
Too much = notchy gears / clutch grabbing

Clutch play is around a centimeter as far as i remember, will check again, manual says 3-5mm though. What's FS oil? Mine has motul 7100 20w50 as per the previous service invoice

FS= Full synthetic.
Let clutch be as it is for now. Just clean chain and check again. Also for some reason, if i warm up bike for 2-3 mins in morning gears are smooth for entire day otherwise they are notchy . I have no explanation for this , just an observation.

Will post an update once i do it. I usually warm up the bike until 3 or 4 bars appear on the gauge (2-4 minutes depending on the time of the day) that is if i'm not in a hurry.

Hi guys , I want to know how much fuel is left when I hit reserve .someone did mention it's 2.5 litres but I sincerely doubt.it's because since the last 295 kms I pretty much ripped it(inna gradual manner)where i have been shifting at 8-9k rpm.engine i feel has opened up.Also was riding in 110 kmph for quiet sometime but it was 295 kms when it showed reserve in the odo.i don't think this bike gives such Fe ,specially the way i rode it!
