My extra 2 cents after the initial Exp :-
    • Projectors are good, but not brilliant. I feel my previous Pulsar with 55W Osram had better focus and throw.
    • As already said, wiring in the bikini-fairing are a complete mess! The bike doesn't even turn lock to lock without hitting something! Fix for this?
    • Console, a little gimmicky with the Blue back-lights, sadly. White was a much classier accent.
    • Indicators...weird as hell! So unlike anything I've ever used!
    • Brakes are good, thought little on the spongy side....
    • SUV like Turning radius spells terror when parking in tight spaces!

All in all, satisfied with my purchase! Sure love the attention it gets and the questions I get to answer!
    > Projectors, need to find if there is a focus adjuster like the ones on the P220. The beam on my bike is spread out too much, that has thinned the intensity.
    > Fix for the mess inside the fairing is to tape all the exposed wires and bind them together with tape or that plastic fastener thingy. Need to make sure there is minimum contact.
    > Yup the blue back-lights are cheesy! and I hate the indicator switch. Infact I have started using hand signals more than the Indicators.
    > Brakes are good, trust me That Spongy is good spongy unlike the sharp 220. I have felt the brakes were even better than the ones on my CBR

peace of mind wins...will go over to the SC to get the oil changed.
I heard uphill rides also load the engine well and are beneficial for the run-in process? Myth or Fact?

Also, haven't heard/felt the Radiator fan switching on even once! How do I check whether its working properly or not?
Uphill rides will put stress on the engine, according to engine experts exposing the engine to varying loads and stress in a controlled way is good for it. I did ride it up to Yelagiri after first service for the same reason. I would say, after 500 odd kms you can start introducing it to such conditions. But I am just speculating, I am not an expert on this.

Radiator fan isnt all that loud and shuts off quite fast, but keep a watch on it. Stop and go city traffic should get the fan working in under 15 mins.

Bhaiya gear nahi lagega and bhaiya brake ka efficiency ghat jayega.
Buddy, how about fabricating new ones ? I know a person who can help. He is currently working on manufacturing rearsets, frame sliders and other parts for the CBR. In that case, instead of fidgeting with the mounting points we can play with the lever design itself.

There is no way of setting the focus sadly. You can set where the light fall on the ground though.

Fabricating new lever is a good idea, I would like my brake lever to be in decent position instead of being too high(stock) or too low(current)

        Hello all,

My red AS200 bought on June 7th has done ~870 KM. Most of that in hills.
I kept RPM under 3.5k for the first day (50km) but it was proving to be too difficult. I was having to change gears every few second due to the small rev range and short gearing, compounded because im in hills.
So after that till 500km kept it between 2.5k and 4k. Got the first service done at 502km. Engine Oil and filter was replaced along with tightening of all screws in the fairing and lubrication of chain. Bill was Rs 614/- (oil - 480 + oil filter - 74 + chain servicing - 60). After 500km have started to take the bike to 4.5k rpm.

The road leading to my place is bad.. well lets say about 300mtr is non existant road, full of sand and gravel with steep gradient. I used to park on the ground. After about 12-15 days of ownership there was a storm in the night and i woke up to see that the bike had fallen on its left. I had my heart in my mouth while going to pick it up. The clutch lever was broken. Everything else was fine. The leg guard looks very small but i guess it did its job of protecting the fairing and all, along with the clutch lever. I guess the ground being wet mud also helped here. Took it to service centre. They had a 200NS clutch lever which fit the bike. It took quite a bit of effort and lots of things had to be opened to replace it. It was made by 'MINDA'. I was charged Rs 140/-.

The noise and harshness was crazy in the beginning. I was afraid that i may not be able to tolerate it for long.
Now, i feel the harshness has decreased a lot. The engine feels less gruff... thankfully. I hope it gets smoother with some more km.
However the situation with noise is strange. Sometimes it feels like the noise has also reduced a lot and sometimes the noise feels as much if not more than the first day. Any pointers on this?

Also i started facing an issue around 700km with the front tyre (or suspension) making some noise. when i move the bike slowly, it makes a slight noise repeating like there is something touching at a certain point on the wheel. I took it to service centre, they said its nothing but some dirt particles stuck between the brake pad and disc and it will go away by itself. Since the noise was very low i didnt think too much about it.

But today the noise has increased. it is now quite audible and causes irritation. It happens when im moving slowly with engine on or off. It doesnt matter if im in gear or neutral or clutch, the sound is there. its there while moving front or back, but i 'feel' its more when im moving to the front. When i apply the front brake slightly, the noise goes away. The rear brake has no effect on the noise. What could this be?

Thanks so much, i feel the low beam is too short. Will look to get this done at next service.

        EDIT:
Heard a lot of bad reviews about the eurogrip tyres and changing tyres onmy car made a big difference. So changed my tyres on second day to
        Front - MRF Zapper- FY 110/70 R17
        Rear - MRF Revz-S 130/70 R17

The front FY 110/70 R17 was quoted Rs 2150, rear Revz-s 130/70 R17 was quoted Rs 2700.Dealer was giving Rs 2500 for the ~100km run eurogrips. so Rs 2300.Finally negotiated to RS 2000 including exchange since the Revz-s was 47/14 and FY was 02/15 made.

              2. Upto 1st Service (750kms) / 1000kms - keep the engine under 5.5K RPM
              3. 1000 - 2000 kms - 5.5K rpm to 6.5K RPM Tops. Occasionally revving upto 8~9K RPM (not holding that more than few seconds)
              4. Instead of looking at the speed, keep an eye on the RPM.
              5. First 500-750 kms keep it running in the city or narrow state highways. 4 Lane highway/express way trips will not give you the oppertunity to traverse through the gears.
              6. Keep shifting the gears up and down, use engine braking.
              7. Get rid of the Bajaj oil once you are at 2K odd kms. Switch to Shell or Motul mineral oil.
              8. Post 5K kms switch over to Semi- Synth Oil.

But whatever you do, you will still have a doubt lurking in your mind if you are doing it right. Ignore that thought

As long as you are not doing something crazy like revving the engine to redline all the time, there isnt much harm you can do to it.
Well, I rode below 3k for 1st 200 km, 4.5k for next 500 km, and went upto 6k rpm till the bike completed 900 km. The bike has completed 1000 km now and I have pushed it till 7k rpm. I do not find it vibrating like some people have mentioned.

Oil change will be done during 1st service (500-750km). At auto service, they changed the oil to Motul 7100 full synthetic oil.

Today, was cleaning the bike. The indicators felt were fragile. I was scared where I'll end up breaking it. Weird.
Yes, its a head turner for sure. But, I have not seen many AS 200s on road yet. In fact, I have seen just one other till now. But, I have seen quite a few RS 200s on road.

I have seen the fan come on when I get stuck in traffic ONLY.

Really? i was thinking i paid a couple hundred more than i should have.
I actually wanted the Zapper-S for rear but it was not available at most places. The price of the Revz-s was Rs 2700 at each of the 4-5 shops that i visited. MRF seems to be aggressively pushing the Revz range. The front in that size various Zapper models was also around 2200.
But i had read on this forum to expect ~Rs 3000/- buyback for brand new stock tyres. Felt i couldve found a better deal but it was very hot that day and nobody seemed to be interested in buying back the stock tyres. This shop was accepting exchange so just said once and he accepted.
Actually after seeing the manufacturing date and not getting the Zapper-S and FY2, i was thinking of leaving that shop but due to being tired and hot just accepted the offer.

Hi Probal. Most of the AS200s are pretty young now, with not much mileage on them.
So a long term review would not be available at the moment.

As far as issues are concerned, not any major issues or deal breakers exist at the moment for the bike. Small niggles do exist, but hey, no motorcycle is perfect!
Rest assured, the AS200 is pretty much the most VFM model available in the market right now.

Also, 3 yrs of on-going development and improvements for the 200NS has also culminated into the AS.
So (hopefully) it will prove to a worthy purchase for you!

Hey Guys...3 day old AS200 owner here!
Loving it till now....clocked around 80kms...... Does anyone know where I can get some open roads in or around Hyderabad?

Running in the bike as suggested here. Haven't crossed 5k rpm. Constantly shifting gears, and pulling through the rev range. Using ample engine-braking to slow down.

But I have a concern. The vibrations and harshness seemed so subdued in the initial kms. Bike felt smooth and creamy, with a mild buzzing in the right footpeg.
Unfortunately, the harshness and vibrations have increased exponentially as the kms pile up. Specially the right footpeg is buzzing like crazy all through the rev range!
has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions/solutions?

P.S: This is more prominent in b2b traffic

                              Hi Guys,

A quick update from my end. Completed the 2k km mark last weekend. In terms of performance, no issues so far. Vibes have pretty much smoothened out. No niggles have cropped up yet (touchwood). I did have a puncture in the rear tire, but that's not something you can fault on the bike. It's either because of the road conditions (which were bad after the constant rains a few weeks ago), or because I drove rashly (guilty, sometimes).

Overall a good experience; I'm happy to have chosen this bike.

I also achieved a personal milestone this weekend (which ties up with hitting the 2k km mark). I went for my first "long" ride to Lonavala this Sunday and it was awesome. It was a solo trip, and an impromptu one at that. I also realize that for a lot of the Mumbaikars and Navi Mumbaikars here, going to Lonavala may be small potatoes. Still, for me it was kind of a big deal and I'd like to go for more rides soon.
