It took 20 days to get the bike but even after changing all the shims and polishing the head still i hear the sound ( its like some iron part is sniping inside the engine ) the sound will only start once the engine is warmed up. I will attach an video link can only help me out.

As per the service center its an issue with timing chain but the bike has clocked only 14000 km. Any help would be grateful.**

Definitely the chain tension-er and/or the timing chain slider. The spring on the tension-er is most probably gone and on it's last leg. Don't rev it too hard or quickly, if that spring snaps, you will lose the whole head, valve train and the pistons due to timing cam shaft skipping a tooth or two..
Get those replaced ASAP. It's not very expensive but time consuming replacement.
Also when getting the kit replaces, check the elongation on the timing chains. Workshop engineers can do that against manual specs.

    Keep us posted friend.

This is the main reason why I gave the bike to the service center and changed all the parts which was recommended by the service center but I don't see a change even after changing the parts and as u mentioned the sound comes up once the engine is warned up. Service center is guessing that this part might have gone wrong so let's change it they can't narrow down the issue.
I'd strongly recommend you to re-inspect the replaced timing chain tensioner, even if it's a new part. With Benelli you never know what can go wrong, even with a new spare. Secondly, the timing chain yes, replace them. If you still have sound, then we can pretty much 100% say that they've used the wrong sized shims.

      Do keep your observations posted.

      Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Benelli doesn't have any parts as stock so I have asked my friend to bring the timing chain from Phillipines will get it in a weeks time and I changed the shims and the new chain tensioner last Saturday. All the shims were send from benelli hyderabad hub. Its very irritating while riding the bike coz this sounds pops more like and riding a dry clutch bike. There is no good garage in Chennai were I can check this that's another problem wish I was in bangalore. Thank you for the suggestion bro.

Anybody tried any mods on the accelerator, maybe got any springs with low tension.
I am really tired of the hard accelerator.

Hi brothers.I'm thinking of buying a new 600i in India. I'm also considering ninja 650. Which one is low on maintenance and if possible can anybody list out the pros and cons of both bikes?

Long term reliability, resale value are abysmal when it comes to Benelli. Though, they offer good VFM in the short-run, long way down the road the cost of upkeep is on par with bigger bikes, with knock on the wood reliability. Kawasaki is definitely expensive when it comes to serving cost, but you get a better package, with respect to ownership and excellent reliability and peace of mind. It's not to say that Benelli should be striked off the list, each to his own, and finances play a big role.

But, the price difference isn't that great when it comes to the 650 and 600i. In my personal opinion, I'd gravitate and towards Kawasaki.

                  Good luck.

                  Cheers!

Thanks for replying brother. I agree with your point of view. One more thing I'd like to ask; how does 2 cylinders and 4 cylinders differ in practicality? Is it only the sound or will I get something more if I plan to use the bike on almost a daily basis?

                          Wow.
                          This thread is dead.

Anyone done a stunt bike conversion to their 600? Whats the rear sprocket that one needs to run to have wheelies on demand.
Stunters who stunt on 636s usually go for 60 tooth.
