@Aurobindo : How did you manage to get such a long test ride!? Was this a showroom bike or some customer's?
        Hi Auro,
You need to bargain a little bit with the show room guys and truly show your seriousness about buying the bike in this category. Once they realize you are serious, they will give you a long test ride.

DSK Benelli 600i is a pretty good bike. I really like it - the only reason I didn't buy it was because it is not yet having ABS (government has announced compulsory ABS for everything above 125cc starting from 2018 - but I didn't have any more capacity to wait!)

At least in Pune even the DSK Benelli service should be fairly good. DSK as a group has good standing in Maharashtra overall (e.g. DSK Toyota and also their real estate biz)

Only slight negative is that service is every 4000 km as per the engineer who showed me the bike.

I studied DSK Benelli 600i, Honda CBR650F, Triumph ST 675 and Kawasaki Z800. Other than Kawasaki, all are ready to give you long test ride. Triumph in fact goes out of the way to accommodate you. They are the most confident of the lot that despite high price their product is likely to impress you more than competition.

I finally selected Triumph ST but I will not claim it is a very logical decision.

If you can live with the fact that you will ride an awesome motorcycle with amazing power and speed but without the help of ABS - and you are a really mature rider, then surely go for it if not already done .

Have ridden till 150 kph on NH-8 after that had to slow down due to traffic but in fourth gear it got till 140 kph it's seriously fast once you twist the throttle. After that is too serious cause there is no ABS

Gents, I have been noticing too much concern about lack of ABS in our bikes.
Please do not worry too much about ABS all the time. Remember not all the bikes have been coming with standard ABS since ever. And if you really understand the actual use of it, a lot of times, not having ABS saves you from major troubles. So do not put a lot of attention towards ABS. The bike has serious stopping power already. Just need to learn the techniques of proper braking. ABS keeps you from actually testing the real braking power of the machine.
Having ABS is not a guarantee that nothing will ever go wrong. Infact in a lot of situations ABS actually makes it worse. Having a little track experience as well as many close escapes while tours, I have learnt a lot and I still constantly practice braking till date. ABS does one job and that is prevents the wheels from locking, which mostly happens while panic braking. But due to the same, the bike actually takes longer than usual to stop, which in a lot of situations takes life.
I am not against ABS at all, I am just trying to put some light on the fact that we should really avoid putting too much attention on lack of ABS in our bikes as it results in a constant fear and negativity in mind while riding. Rather focus on careful braking along with engine braking and relaxed riding. Practice the braking a lot and overcome the survival reactions also knows as SR (ref - twist of the wrist - vol2 by Keith Code)
ABS is there to help you in few situations only, apart from that its the learning of proper braking that will actually save you from almost all the troubles.
Just wanted to share the thoughts, no offense to anyone in anyway. I hope everyone takes this in constructive manner.
            Cheers !!

I second this opinion.. there have been many instances wheel locking under emergency braking at moderate speeds have helped shedding speed much better compared to abs.. its only when you are in a turn when sudden breaking causes locking leads to loss of traction and the slide ensues.. i dont think abs should be counted as a deal breaker.. its good to have it but its absence shouldnt put you off buying a bike..

well, you've struck the wrong strings ..hehehe
I can write atleast 3-4 pages of forum and it still would be less to define the epic shittiness of the delhi dealership.
About the parts and spare costs, I wouldnt say its sky high, but a little above average and its pretty obvious for a premium superbike. A service costs around 5k including labor. You can save some on the parts if you play smart by importing from aliexpress as most of the stuff can be easily found on it, that too original quality. The most expensive part so far are the tyres. costing 27500 for rear and 23000 for front.
Now about the dealership. ahemm..its dealershit actually.
it is the worst I have ever heard or seen in life. apparently the sales team is no less that a bunch of liers who will say or commit almost anything or everything to just get their way with you. We still havent got our bikes registered even till now. The dealershit doesnt even have a proper bike washing facility. everytime you give them your bike, they will return with few or many big scratches all over you tank and other body part. You always have to double check for every single part that has been opened for any purpose and if its properly fitted back or not. You'll be amazed to see what important parts they can leave unscrewed. They claim to have all parts available but if ever you fall in need of any particular part, they will not have that particular part in stock and you have to wait for not sure how long. The mechanics are to be honest fine guys, its may be just that they are also less experienced or they dont have all the info about parts availability. These are few major points thay I can state so far. So basically the dealershit is determined to do every best effort to turn your experience into a horrible nightmare.
But on the contrary, the bike covers up for all the shortcoming of the dealership. as soon as you are in the saddle, you just forget everything. I love the bike, and I just wish they open another dealership in Delhi soon so that we have another option.

Maaaan.. if i have learned anything its that mechanics and dealerships are so so important.. my 7 year old r15 flies along just because of the awesome mechanic that i have here although the dealerships license was cancelled he is the only person i have ever allowed to service my bike.. the new service centre guys are plain idiots and couldnt even fix the rear brake pads without taking the whole rear tire out.. i plan on geting a 600cc be it the benelli or the kawa sometime in the next 6 months but the dealerships gonna matter.. costs i can live with but if they dont respect my bike i dont need them.. a scratch? No sir.. i would probably burn down their centre in the middle of the night if i got one gifted by them.. i am paying a premium and i feel i should get the services too.. yammy i can service myself at home and even if something goes hopelessly wrong my trusted mechanic takes it from my home and deals with problems and returns it back.. i dunno if that kinda service would be provided by benelli in case something goes wrong.. my place is almost 200km from the nearest showroom and transporting the bike there in emergencies would be a pain in the ass.. i feel that the dealers in south are much more professional.. mind i say they care about their customers and their rides.. north.. all they care about is how much money they can milk before leaving you frustrated and alone.. lets hope theres another dealership in NCR soon.. hopefully more professional..
