re: Benelli TNT 600i - Owners' Reviews & Experiences
So you too would be against taking it in regular commute to the office in a normal traffic?..I own a CBR 250R and sometimes I feel a bit the heat from the fairing during B2B traffic, but not uncomfortable, in that way, will this 600 be something to the point of uncomfortable to ride on?Originally posted by Deathwing View Post

re: Benelli TNT 600i - Owners' Reviews & Experiences
Brother I too own a CBR, and I have ridden 17000km most of it in the city and traffic , there is heat over a long period but not too much that it would fry ur leg like the KTM,390s, I found it very manageable, now coming to the 600 obviously I won't advice anyone to take this bike in bumper to bumper traffic in long durations, if its traffic which is not for too long I guess its manageable, maybe I'm wrong but honestly the 600 is better suited for those Sunday or morning or late night ridesOriginally posted by kanth View PostSo you too would be against taking it in regular commute to the office in a normal traffic?..I own a CBR 250R and sometimes I feel a bit the heat from the fairing during B2B traffic, but not uncomfortable, in that way, will this 600 be something to the point of uncomfortable to ride on?

Almost the moment you have ridden it for about 5 minutes in the city (from cold start) the fan kicks in and It hardly ever stops - as experienced in Bangalore.
Having said that, as soon as you get on to highways, it's all cool n silent (except for the exhaust, of course!)[emoji16]

Tour - Yes very much, I hardly use my vehicles to commute. Well, I mean, I hardly commute. However, haven't really toured on it, yet. Do a few hundred kms almost every weekend, though. Did about 175km this morning, as well.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostColour looks sexy as hell! Do let us all know about the ownership experience, also do u plan to on tour on her
?
Here's my opinion/experience after riding it it for about 2,500kms and 2.5 months of ownership:
Seating position - Coming from a R15, I'm finding the seating position to be a bit too upright (read - uncomfortable). I've loved to tour on R15. Contrary to the general opinion/perception, I find clip ons and the slightly sporty position helpful during long rides - it feels more natural to me, even did Ladakh on R15 and never found the seating to be an issue, but, it could be that I'm just used to it!
Pillion - While touring, don't think you can carry a pillion as the rear seat gets hot when you've ridden it for considerable amount of time. Not burning hot, but, you can surely feel it under your bum. (I don't have an IXIL, yet).
Saddle bags - Haven't given it a try, yet. Have to check that.
Windblast - I find it manageable; anyway, I cruise at about 120-130ish which isn't much of a bother with the stock visor/screen.
FE/tank- Find the tank capacity to be just adequate - nothing great to talk about here. Getting between 20-22 kmpl depending on the riding style for the day/traffic faced. As I've mentioned earlier, I hardly commute in the city, but, even during the weekend rides, you do exit, pass n re-enter city.
Ownership experience - have faced a few minor niggles but the SVC has been attentive and have mostly helped resolved issues. Have a speedometer replacement pending for some time now; spoke to their HO folks as well, looks like they haven't received the parts, yet. Having said that, I don't really have any complaints, yet, cuz the issues have been minor and nothing that raises eyebrows on the quality part.Last edited by kunnu@cbz; 01-21-2016, 02:12 PM.

I too come from a long era of R15, on it till now and like you and very few people, there is no back or seating problems.. but i guess 600i has better seats comparatively for longer rides. I have done 750km long rides a couple of times on it and seating was comfortable for me...
Its a great machine and a love it more than and more with each ride. but certain issues keeps me from enjoying it so much.
Couple of probs were hard throttle cable, fuel leakage below tank, sudden switch off of engine, front brake lever play.. all of the probs were rectified by svc guys except for the lever play which keeps on coming for whatever they do
.
normal cruising is around 120-140 in long highways and its okay to keep it at that at steady pace and a touch of 200 once here and hen, that's when the bike brings us to heaven
Currently done 7.2k and 3.5 months old.. still a long way to go.. and still now i too have not got the ixil.. i really love to change it.. but can anyone with ixil share their long ride experience.. i am only afraid of its effect of engine for long rides and sound effect on ears for a long time (that part i dont care much , who doesn't love the sweet loud note of iline4
)

re: Benelli TNT 600i - Owners' Reviews & Experiences
Agree the cables and levers are hard, but, over time, I guess, I got used to it. Also, mine is Limited edition so got adjustable levers as stock, which, does help for sure!
Fuel leakage - after a refill or otherwise? Filling it to the brim does cause overflow, so I try to keep it just a little less than that.
Never faced stalled engine, yet.
Am yet to start long tours on this - might begin with a Goa ride, hopefully soon. 😍

For clutch lever play giving repeated issues try the following-Originally posted by sherahrk View PostHi,

1. Replace with Adjustable lever's
2. Replace with steel braid lines (costs 2.2k-3.5k)... the free play will keep deteriorating over time due to wire shrinkage...
3. If none of this solves then check then check the clutch plate allignment...
IXIL Exhaust is just a quick swap slip-on can not gonna affect your engine. If you are getting it suggest you also get a heat shield made by a local guy...

re: Benelli TNT 600i - Owners' Reviews & Experiences
I do use the 600 for my daily office commute, but the time I commute to office and back home, there is moderate to less traffic. I travel round-about 25kms everyday, I have once driven in stop-go traffic and I did feel the heat while standing in traffic, but it dissipates immediately as the bike picks up speed and the radiator fan does it job very well.Originally posted by kanth View PostI asked Vikas Rachamalla about the same regarding daily usability in the city and how he would find this bike for daily commute, and his answer was a NO if my daily commute was involving heavy traffic, but he was feeling positive regarding taking on long rides. Obviously, daily commutes always comprise of at least moderate to heavy if not completely heavy traffic, so guys a question for you all who own this bike and have been using it for daily commute, do you find it very hard to ride, especially when it comes to heat dissipation.
After having the bike for just over 6 months and 2.5k kms of ownership, I ride it everyday with a wide grin under the visor.R15S - Current

I have a friend who uses a 600i as a daily commuter in Pune in all sorts of traffic. 8 months, he has clocked 10k kms and he says apart from the heat (during near choked up traffic) he didn't have any issues with the bike. Regular Chain Lube, Service and anticipating the traffic patern helps him a lot to manage the 200 kg bike!Originally posted by TheArcher84 View PostI do use the 600 for my daily office commute, but the time I commute to office and back home, there is moderate to less traffic. On the other hand a 600GT (Same engine) is NOT.. i repeat with caps.. NOT a daily commuter bike. 253 kgs dry weight + rider + Fuel and oil weight takes it beyond 300 kgs and the bike is top heavy.1999-2001 HH Street ES (SOLD)

I honestly found the the styling of the 600gt very repulsive, never really liked it, 600i Is something I'm drawn to as a upgrade my CBR 250, if benelli get abs and sort out that tank cap problem , this bikes would be a real seller.Originally posted by sourabh2910 View PostI have a friend who uses a 600i as a daily commuter in Pune in all sorts of traffic. 8 months, he has clocked 10k kms and he says apart from the heat (during near choked up traffic) he didn't have any issues with the bike. Tank cap - don't think there's a problem with it. Assuming you're taking about the overflow in case of a overfill, it's a mechanism which lets the extra fuel drain out through a pipe. It doesn't spill over the tank.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostI honestly found the the styling of the 600gt very repulsive, never really liked it, 600i Is something I'm drawn to as a upgrade my CBR 250, if benelli get abs and sort out that tank cap problem , this bikes would be a real seller.

What tank-cap problem you are talking about, I haven't noticed/faced any such thing with mine. Are you talking about the tank over-flow issue ?Originally posted by Deathwing View Postsort out that tank cap problem .R15S - Current
