  • Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF : Ownership thread

yesterday i faced an issue while starting my bike, it didn't run after several times of pressing ignition and also by kick start.
then after the choke was opened , the bike started. and again it stalls. when choke is closed.
what is this issue related with? air filter cleaning? or petrol tank ?

Got only 1 option here - carburetted, no ABS, both disc brakes. Checked at the dealer and they said, it is the 2018 model. What difference can be noted in the 2018 model compared to the earlier ones ?
Someone in this country posted the following pics in facebook, he bought one from a dealer, came home and found the welding to be crap. He returned it. Does all the bikes have the same quality ?
Its a cheap bike for the mass market, so thats how its made. Theres no difference between the 2018 and previous models. All of them are built the same. I have covered two major problems with the bike on my YTC regarding Misalignments and Oil Leak. Besides these 2 there are several other problems as well.

I would recommend you look into the GSX250R (assuming you are from NZ) instead.

I thought so too. But the bite is not that much. The weight distribution is front biased and hence the rear skids easily even under mild braking. It rarely skids when you have a pillion (never skidded with a pillion, for me).
On a side note, the front tyre is way too good! It never skids even under hard braking (on tarmac).

40 plus on riding between 60-80.
35 when I go throttle heavy.

Done 41000 km in 2.5 years.

If you find your brake levers grabby, it's time to check your master cylinder piston. Faulty master cylinder pistons would mean, grabbing brake lever. This can also be caused if your fluid level is low. Secondly, ABS when detects a wheel lock, pulses the brake lever which is perfectly normal.

The user in no way has to bring a brake lever back to its position after usage of the brake. Get it checked, if you're under warranty opt for a replacement or overhaul of the master cylinder.

I have the same variant and this problem is there with my motorcycle ad well. But I've noticed that it only happens below 20 kmph.

              Hello everyone!
Has anyone here tried removing the lower fairing of the bike?
If yes, then can you share some pictures as I'm thinking of doing it so that I could fit a crash guard.

I want to add extra foam/cushion to my seat. Can anyone suggest a good shop in Chennai?

You can remove the lower fairings but it slightly more difficult and ruins the look of the bike. I don't have pics currently but had uploaded it once in this forum.
