As far as tank grips goes, you have different type of grip materials available. For example tech specs are a soft rubber compound type which won't scratch or eat into the fabric of the jeans/formal pants, but those are expensive as well. Cheaper options are the protruding type grips which can cause friction / wear on your jeans.
There used to be a product called stomp grips, can't find it being used anywhere now a days..but if you can get those might be the best fit.

I have rode my bike 3 times so far, all in heavy Bengaluru city traffic.
Per the console, my average mileage is 14kmpl, make what you will of it!!
One thing that broke my heart, even though I made sure my belt isnt exposed, my jackets fabric caused a lot of scratches on the petrol pump area!
Finally got a tank pad, should I also get Tank Grips? Does it scratch/affect your formal pants?

I use to own a black R3 so speaking from experience.
So basically if you have access to a proper closed parking space and ability to wash the bike regularly go for black, if not go for the blue , it's easier to maintain.

I am confused with color to book. Can owners shed some light on matte black color queries.
1. Are red decals removable?
2. Since i have never owned any matte black bike/car until now how do we maintain this color. Are there different polish and wax for matte paint? How dust repellent is this color?

22 days after delivery, I finally took my bike out of my garage to my office's garage.
The vibes felt way lesser, weird for a bike that was just started 3 times and never hit the pavement!
Man, the bike is a hoot, the way it whines around 6k rpm is heart warming.
An R15 v3 guy was revving along me (inviting to race?) and all I could think was "You ride an R15 v3, I drive an R3, we ain't the same bro"
jokes aside, what was very apparent being next to this guy was how comfortable the ergonomics are! no issues on the back or stress on the hands.Leave a comment:

Just as a thumb rule always remember not to hold the bike in same revs/speed for longer period of times and make sure you cycle through the revs every now and then in a not so aggressive manner which makes sure all the parts bed-in to the right tolerances.
So focus on enjoying the ride and you'll be all right.

A good running-in comprises of riding the bike on all gears at all rpms at permissible limits with small breaks at every 45mins or 60-70kma of continuous riding. It involves continuous riding modulating the accelerator low and high on each gear.Originally posted by AbhiTK View Post

Yes 7k max rpm until first 1000kms is advised by the manufacturer but a good running-in continues upto 3000-5000kms
After first 1000kms you can continue 7k rpm limit until 1600kms and then until 3000kms try to hold max till 8.5k rpm.
Change oil and filter at 1000kms or you can do it oil change only before that and then an oil and filter change at 1600kms and then again an oil change at 3000kms.
I know this practice does effect your service interval, but a good running-in doesn't just completes at the corner of first 1000kms only.Leave a comment:
