When did you get the motorcycle ?

    For Yamaha motorcycles:
Position of the code for YEAR of manufacture in the chassis number
    10th digit from the left

Position of the code for MONTH of manufacture in the chassis number
    9th digit from the left
    Check attached

The letter 'K' somewhere in the middle denotes the year of manufacture. Here K = 2019.

    Mine is 'J' = 2018.

I don't think VIN shows month of manufacture. Only year of manufacture.

    ME = India

    Cheers!

HI, By any chance did you order grab rails for your bike. If so do post photos of the install. Thanks.

Just curiosity, can we install grab rails for pillion (some kind of jugaad), or do we get custom grab rails on any site ? If so do post info please.
    Committed was 15 days(which is Feb 23)

Grab rails; you can order from Aliexpress(try to search for R25/R3). Installation and experience has been shared earlier in this thread by owners. May also check this:

Please see my earlier video of unboxing of the grab bars for the pillion rider. It is very easy to install in Yamaha YZF R3 2018 model. It looks like stock f...

Even i had to give the nod to go ahead with booking for black in Delhi.

Go for the Motofusion one for radiator guard.
Good one, simple and breathable design and easy to fit.

Tank grip will require extra adhesive and if later PPF removed, tank grips will not be reusable if adhesive was too sticky.
Thanks!. For now I ordered one from Bandidos(which ultimately is from Aliexpress). Looks decent. Still waiting to take delivery of the bike.

If they keep delaying the delivery and the last date for registering BS4 vehicles are up then you will be stuck with a bike you cannot register or your booking amount getting lost.
Make sure you hold your showroom accountable for the status of the bike and keep calling them daily if you have to. If still no update is showing up shoot a mail to Yamaha India with full details of the booking amount demanded by the showroom guys and that they claim it is non refundable and not delivering the bike in the promised time.

Can somebody please advise/share link for radiator grill. I plan have it installed from dealer on delivery date. So far found one on Bandidos Pitstop. Has anybody used their rill?
Also if i get the tank ppf wrapped do tank grips stick to it?

The wait is insane for R3 sometimes going upto 2 months.

Which color did you get ? If you got the blue, you are lucky.

This is one awesome jugaad. Is it possible to modify this to include grab rails ? How effective is this for the saddle bags ?

During the two weeks, i didn't have to follow up with him. May be , I was lucky enough to end up with a good dealer and he probably had a great contact with Yamaha to prioritize.
I have read about the 1L booking on this forum earlier too. maybe some dealers are taking that amount, not sure if its official.

I guess dealers in bigger cities have more influence and contacts, at my place (Vadodara gujarat), there are hardly any R3's seen, maybe only about 6-8 till date.

Regarding color, it was otherwise because i was told 20-25 days waiting period for black as sourcing blue is faster that black. Initially i asked for Black since all my previous ones were black. Since matte finish is difficult to maintain, I changed to blue.

Could be that, some showrooms are playing the safe game to avoid taking orders/delaying orders because it is just about a month before BS6 deadline and don't want to have bike unsold in case the buyer cancels . Again this is just a wild guess .
