I call it YONKO (japanese word for Emperor). Its been almost a year and completed around close to 19000 km. This bike has seen it all from ghats such as Malshej, Kasara, Lavasa to waterlogging city during monsoon (if you live in Mumbai, then you know what I mean) to off roading. Yet not even for once it has given up on me. That makes me so happy and gives me the kind of confidence that I believe I can take it to moon and back (obviously not)

Absolutely fantastic review and pictures! I'm amazed to see how the R15S owners have similar(mostly good) experience with this bike.

I'm kind of stuck in work but once I'm free I'm going to hit this thread with my own review as well. Cheers.

    Regards.

Hi, That is not a cover. It is an extra switch that I fixed on my bike. Its purpose is to make both indicators blink together like a hazard light. Useful in heavy rains and early morning rides.

Hello all, need suggestions for change of engine oil for my R15. I m using the stock oil which they use everywhere. Thinking of shifting to motul.

            Thanks in advance

Before doing, check about warranty getting void.

That is a normal rain cover for the switch gears. You should be able to find it at any local mechanic.

I heard that Motul 300V and the Yamalube (which we use for our R15's) are pretty same and just the packaging is different!
But still not sure about this! Please confirm it with the seniors! 🙂

Can anyone confirm if the ViaTerra Rapide can be latched on to the R15S. I asked around but nobody gave me a definite answer. Please help.

                          Hi,
I've been following this thread actively for a while now. Posting for the first time on XBHP!

I bought my R15S (Spark Green) about 3 months ago. Will be posting a review soon (Need to take some good photos)

It has been great following the interactions here, helped me gain a lot of useful knowledge!

The R15S has been terrific ride for me so far! No significant issues faced (Done 3500 Kms)

However since the past couple of weeks I am getting tappet sound from the engine, can any other owners confirm if they are facing this ?

Also since my bike is fairly new, would you recommend I should get the Tappet clearance adjusted at 3500 Kms ?

I have been following the service schedule and have done chain lubing/adjustment every 500 Kms.

Also I get some vibrations near the windshield above 5000 RPM, Any suggestions to get rid of it ?

                          Thanks!

Same here but mine at 4K RPM, did some padding myself but it did came back again. The thing is, I cannot locate it as it's happening while ridding only!

Yes, That's exactly what I have observed. The vibrations occur only when the bike is moving. I took it to the SVC and they put some sponge paddings behind the windshield. But that didn't help with reducing the vibes.

I tightened the surrounding Allen key bolts on the fairing, which didn't work either. So I suppose it's a minor niggle that we have to live with for now. Will be taking the fairing off and re-fit it with rubber spacers when I have a day off from office.

In other updates, Yesterday while I was changing the stock pilot lamps to 1watt LED units, I was stupid enough to do it while the power was on. So a short caused the Main fuse to blow and the bike went dead.

Luckily Yamaha includes a spare fuse under the seat for a mishap like this, so I called up the SVC mechanic and he gave me instructions over the phone on how to change the fuse. And voila the bike was up and running again in a matter of minutes. Although it gave me a minor heart attack, This incident taught me to never mess with the electricals while the power is on

BTW the Main fuse (20Amp Yellow Color) is located under the Red Cable harness plug that clips on right next to the battery (be gentle when disconnecting it or you risk damaging the connector). And the spare fuse is kept in a rubber tab right below the red cable connector.

Went and got a couple of spare fuses today from the SVC, they didn't charge me anything for it.

                              Cheers!

I forgot this as a con as I fixed long time before. I will post the pic what I have done to solve the issue.
