I am not sure about bulb light output. The best led chip is luxeon MZ, ZES from philips. Then you have osram, cree etc. Leds dont generate infrared waves so the reflector will not be hot.
Coming to visor vibes its better to diy. Plastic part which is behind bubble causes vibes. Dismantle it and use old tubes material as washer. Problem solved

Thanks for reply Vijay. But no blinks in error code. Only continuous glow for few seconds while riding accompanied by power drop from engine.

Not sure about wavelengths, but LED headlight bulbs' electronics generate a lot of heat.. some even have a heat-sink and(or) a fan at the back. So yeh heat is present maybe not at the reflector as such. And some reflector's + led combo might not always work well in giving optimum output.
These phillips led's cost a bomb (i was told close to 10k).
Some other alternatives are, chinese stuff from aliexpress or something from cyclops (Cyclops Adventure Sports - Lighting Your Way)
Give the aliexpress stuff a try.. some of them are good and worth the money you pay (buy from a reputed seller & with good reviews)

Melting of reflector is due to infrared emitted by the halogen. Led dont generate infrared. As the current pass through led diode heat will be generated. This has to be brought under control else chip will fail. This is the reason leds has copper belts or fan to cool the chip. Philips are costly because its that good. Look for cree xhp-50 chip bulb if you want absolute light power

That's why I'm interested in these 2 products as it will fit my budget. But concerned about burning of the reflectors remain as it will void the warranty and I will not have any option to replace it other than to buy a new one.




Are you sure? Cause I have seen all with the local LEDs, three side light (diode), burnt the reflector vertically, starting from the light to the top, due to heat, not uniformly. I know Philips are good but the price is out of my reach.

heat is heat, it could damage the reflector.
It is a risk nevertheless. But you could get a lower wattage LED and maybe that won't damage the reflector. Hopefully the ones with the fan's are better. And if you are planning to get one with a fan, make sure it would fit in the headlight assembly area.
Remember whatever generic led's you get in the market here are all mostly from china.. so aliexpress should be fine and you have more choice.

Dont go for these cheap one sided led bulbs these are absolute garbage.
Better spend some more money and get some quality bulbs.

When the engine is running we wont get the error code. When you see the light continuously on just switch off the engine with kill switch soon the error code sequence appears.

Great review. Its been 7 months with my R15S and I have almost exact same impression, glad to see that the R15S owners have similar and consistent experience with this bike, says a lot about the quality of the product.

I'm about to do a short term review(7 months) in some time and I can see a lot of points will be redundant to yours.

Please provide your reviews. I could miss some points. Tankfull after tanfull with regular highway and city driving its giving me 53+ . Now a days i am not riding slow. My pulsar used to give me 33 kmpl if i ride at 100. Its not only about mileage, its about quality and consistancy where sadly other companies are not upto the mark including Honda. R15s was not even in radar, i went straight to honda showroom to book unicorn 160..somehow ita not appealing then went to rtr 180 matt blue and it miggt take few months. Just for the sake of it went to yamaha showroom and happy with r15s .. Got booked and happy ever since. Glad I made a right choice at the right moment. My wish R3 shoukd also come in similar flavour R3S

Here is my take on ownership experience so far.
I call it YONKO (japanese word for Emperor). Its been almost a year and completed around close to 19000 km. This bike has seen it all from ghats such as Malshej, Kasara, Lavasa to waterlogging city during monsoon (if you live in Mumbai, then you know what I mean) to off roading. Yet not even for once it has given up on me. That makes me so happy and gives me the kind of confidence that I believe I can take it to moon and back (obviously not) 😂
Here are the list of pros and cons that I have come across:

Pros:
1) Looks: I believe the black and green color looks the best in my personal opinion. Look quotient goes even higher when you have gears on you. Check attached images to feast your eyes.

2) Reliability: Haven't faced any niggles with the bike. Did my servicing on time and hence the bike has not troubled me at all. Engine is smooth.

3) Brakes: They are awesome. Good bite and stopping power.

4) Tyres: Can I just say the front Zapper tyre is purely awesome. You take it on tarmac and it just grips and grips. Never for once it faltered.
The rear Revz is good too on tarmac but not so good on concrete roads. They will skid and make your heart skip a beat (atleast mine did). Light offroading can be done with it. I managed to do 50 km of off roading and came up with 4 punctures in it. Planning to change it soon.
Tyres have always maintained balance even during panick breaking and that for MRF is super awesome. It makes me stick to stock tyre for replacement again.

5) Gearbox : Super smooth.

6) Handling: Its a devil at handling. Will do what you want it to do without any hiccup. For fast turn ins, you would need to counter steer a bit more than usual otherwise its great.

7) Chassis: Capable chassis. Great amount of feedback especially during cornering.

8) Mileage: Getting about 43-44 kmpl for mixed riding condition. Full tank serves me for a week unless I decide to hit highway.

Cons:
1) Suspension: Hard suspension is good for cornering but not so good for city as you know how are roads are. Its a tad bit hard as it all the bumps on the road can be felt.

2) Seat: In my opinion, seat is only good for 200 km after which my butt started aching. Hence, had to purchase an aftermarket seat (Ride on air). Pillion seat is even harder than rider seat.

3) Weight: At 139 kgs it is good but on highway you need bit more as continuous cross wind do end up pushing your bike a little. This is based on my personal opinion.

4) Clutch:
Good for open highways but not so good in city traffic especially the stop go traffic. Will leave you in pain for sure. A lighter clutch would be preferable.

5) Riding position: Its aggressive but after a period of time you will get used to it. People planning on touring on this will feel shoulder pain and wrist pain due to inappropriate bar end weights. Also, you will be irritated by the number of times your crotch will hit the tank during breaking due to slanting seat.

6) Service Center:
This is my evident where I service my bike may not hold true for you. I've noticed that they do not take care of bike during servicing. They will move the bike anyhow they like. Have damaged my mirror, scraped my grab rails. I get very scared to leave my bike for servicing. Have complaint to Yamaha about this and they have given me the same answer both times : We will look into it and will make sure it is not repeated again.

7) Headlights: Good only in dark situation. For city riding, better upgrade to LEDs or projector as they are almost non existent.

Upgrades that I did:
1) Installed Bolt charger as I usually tour and it is very much necessary

2) Installed a switch for turning on both blinkers together so that it can work as hazard lights. Mighty useful during heavy rains and early morning rides.

3) Seat: Opted for Ride on Air seat for long distance riding. Was confused between gel seat and this. Went with Ride on air as gel seat gets hardened when exposed to sun light for long period and most of the time its difficult to find shade. Keep in mind, addition of aftermarket seat will increase seat height and can make for uncomfortable seating position. Try it before you buy it.

4) Blind spot mirror: Not really an upgrade but an important tool to keep an eye on squids who cut you off.

Need to upgrade lights. Have zero amount of confidence on cheap chinese stuff. Any suggestion is welcome.
