Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
There is no change in wiring connection . Led bulb consist of driver to drive these powerful leds. While pressing pass lamp and low beam is on, both filaments (low/high) light up simultaneously. If you do the same in led bulb , driver cuts the low beam and switches to high beam till you press the pass switch. The moment pass light switch is released high beam will be off and low beam will be on. On the costlier led bulb like luxeon MZ chips one can make both low and high beam will light up.Originally posted by Santhu Shyam View PostSo how is the setup will be? In low beam the left side light will get lit up, and when the high beam is turned on, both the sides will get lit up, right? Is this the same scenario in these LED installation?
Sorry, am noob in this section!

Hello bhpians, mine completed 16k kms but chain rubs with rubber placed on upper side of swing arm. Chain slack seems normal though. Any suggestions? Also checked a friend of mine who owns 2014 model v2 and found his stock chain is 'DID' make. Whereas 2015 R15S has Rolon. Dont know why. Eventhough I used to clean and lube regularly, I am not satisfied with stock chain sprocket.

Can you make a small video of your headlamp working with the LED, plus the pass switch, hi/low working so that folks who have these doubts can get idea on what they're looking after.Originally posted by vijaycool View PostThere is no change in wiring connection . The girl said, 'NO!'

Hey Guys!
After long deliberation I have decided to go with the R15S. Could you please tell me as to what should I look for while purchasing this bike. I am not asking about the PDI checks. Its something that you as a R15 owner and buyer have identified that is speccific to this bike. Thanks in advance!!

Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
Can you compare R15 and cbr250's maintaining and regular service cost...?? I want to know whether the maintenance cost of cbr250 is double of R15's or it is like 20-25% more only.Originally posted by nagoo View Poststop following those youtube channels , check official specs of R15S , its the same engine , only tuning is slightly improved and new ECU map.
On me getting R15s , well needed 2nd bike for local commute and wife not comfortable on GT , so has to get S model , no other bike comes close with reliability/tech/style to R15. V1 has to sell after owning it for 7 years and 80k kms on odo

Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
With the current scenario, if you are owning an ABS equipped CBR, then yes, the servicing regime is comparatively costlier than R15. Honda's part prices are ridiculously priced, and especially CBR's parts are always sold at a premium. R15's part don't cost a bomb per se, but compared to the other 150's it has the costliest parts, both mechanically and aesthetically.Originally posted by Naveen1985 View PostCan you compare R15 and cbr250's maintaining and regular service cost...?? One is a capable tourer and sports motorcycle, one is an aggressive corner carver, if you drop, remember boy, both are expensive. Which side of the coin are you on, you decide.

Afaik, the r15 has a 4 month service interval, while the CBR has 6 months. So you can save on engine oil costs if you buy the Honda.Originally posted by Naveen1985 View PostCan you compare R15 and cbr250's maintaining and regular service cost...?? The chain and sprocket set of the r15 costs ~₹300 more than the CBR 250.
Stuff like fuel filter would cost more, as Honda has it imported from Thailand.Last edited by leech; 12-17-2016, 10:55 AM.

No. The R15 has 70 days service interval which is too short! [emoji53]Originally posted by leech View PostAfaik, the r15 has a 4 month service interval, while the CBR has 6 months. So you can save on engine oil costs if you buy the Honda.

This is the problem of the internet : can't rely on one source. Thanks for the correction.Originally posted by Santhu Shyam View PostNo. The R15 has 70 days service interval which is too short! [emoji53]
Naveen1985, go for the CBR 250 eyes closed then. Because on the point of maintenance, Honda scores. 70 day service interval is a joke for a bike as well engineered as the r15. I had the same decision to make 4 years ago, and I'm glad I chose the Honda. A couple of CBR owners have stretched the service interval of their bikes to 8000 kms once or twice on long tours, and their bikes still perform well at 1,00,000 kms.Last edited by leech; 12-17-2016, 06:45 PM.

100% agree on this one sir. its even worse when you use expensive fully synth. engine oil, and the auth. service centers drain it out at just 3K kms, saying that its written in the service book and you'll void the warranty if the oil is not replaced. A reliable Jap bike should have wider service intervals.Originally posted by leech View PostThis is the problem of the internet : can't rely on one source. Thanks for the correction.
