Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
Yamalube is no longer manufactured by Motul. It is now manufactured by Tide Water Oil company. The engine oil that comes for the R15, costs around Rs 450 and is even used for the R3, and it is now fully synthetic. The Motul made Yamalube was a semi-synthetic oil which used to cost more.Originally posted by Ankey View Postyes brother, it is motul oil only, the only difference is the Yamalube packaging, no other difference.Google it and you will find it.
In fact Yamalube is specifically manufactured for Yamaha, so it is tailor made to suit Yamaha bikes. Still people may use other oils, because they may feel it is better or makes bike smoother or any other reason. As long as the grade of the engine oil is same as recommended by Yamaha (given in user manual), there won't be any warranty issues.
yes user manual should have been provided along with the bike. If not provided keep pestering the dealer till you get it.

With the FI tool CO settings can be adjusted easily. I dont drive very fast or raise the throttle unnecessarily and hard braking so i get these mileage pretty consistently. Last highway trip I got around 59kmpl . I was driving less than 70kmph. Between 85-95 kmph one can expect 52-54 kmpl. I clean the airfilter every 3000km and maintain air pressure 30psi in front and 35 at rear.Originally posted by Saif Karbelkar View PostI didn't know if it was even possible to mess with the CO setting on a fuel injected bike. Is there a screw similar to a carb ? Where to locate it?

For guys who want to fiddle with the CO setting and want to have a diagnostic tool. It is available outside for 5500 bucks(2 years back) when i was running K&N . I got it in nov 2013. Will share details soon. It was by some guy in karol bagh forgot his name n credentials. Will sort through older mails to find out his email ID. Its a genuine piece and has the manual for operation. The screw that someone here mentioned here is for idling, it wont affect the fuelling.

Tide water oil company is the makers of Veedol engine oil and they are the OE suppliers of Honda and Hero. They make superior oils as per my experience. Probably the new yamalube may be a rebranded Veedol super swiftOriginally posted by anishbora View PostYamalube is no longer manufactured by Motul. It is now manufactured by Tide Water Oil company. Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
During the second service seems like service center fiddled with the settings. After that mileage dropped like 44kmpl as I was getting 54 inside city. I complained on the third service and seems like they adjusted again. I am still not happy with the settings because during cold start i noticed water droplets from the exhaust but after the second service i cant see that anymore. I also add 1 ml/liter 2T oil once in 3k kms for 500kms . This is to lube the fuel pump and injectorOriginally posted by vjxm View PostDid u adjust the CO settings with FI tool.

Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
Guys, just got back home after my PDI, the bike sounds amazing!!
Noticed one thing - There is no light switch anymore. Checked 2 other R15S at the dealer. None of them have it. The dealer says all new models are coming without light switch. The lights stay always on ( I think there was a recent mandate by the authorities that required all two wheelers to have always on lights? Like the RC 390?)
Personally I think I like it. Will have to deal with the helpful types on the road though who always remind you that your lights are on

Here in Kolkata, only one SVC had it, others denied of any existence.Originally posted by Saif Karbelkar View PostIs this available directly from the svc?
So do you feel any lack of performance? And how would I approach the SVC guys so that they check my CO setting? And what CO settings do you have?Originally posted by vijaycool View PostDuring the second service seems like service center fiddled with the settings. Do the lights turn on as soon as you turn the switch on or after starting the bike?Originally posted by Saif Karbelkar View PostNoticed one thing - There is no light switch anymore. Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
I complained during the service they fixed it. Not happy with the setting as i am not getting water droplets as byproduct which inwas getting earlier. Another reason for the mileage may be i didnt push my bike hard for the first 7k kms, infact i did runin less than 75kmph for first 2500 km and less than 100 till 7k kms. Some people commented its unnecessary but in the long run it helps. Replaced with motul 7100 10w40 today with engine flush with a different procedure. There will be lots of difference of opinion so i am not going to tell what i did. After the flush and new fs oil its just so smooth like feather. Crispy throttle response.Originally posted by vjxm View PostDid u adjust the CO settings with FI tool.

Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
The headlight on the new lot of the R15 models switch on as soon as u turn the key on, unlike on the R3, where it lights up only after cranking the engine (activated by the ECU). Not a good idea IMHO, as the battery remains unchanged. We have too many stop lights in the city. Also, the ECU self check is not as fast as that on the CBR150R.
