That's saddening if they discontinue CBR250ROriginally posted by Kartik Shetty View PostR15s is not for touring. It can do 120 but it will be stressful & tiring. Cbr250 may get discontinued in the coming months... Think twice purchase once.

Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
Bike has completed 980 kms on the ODO. Completed my first service today, awesome job done by the guys at Bikerz Yamaha, Alandur, Chennai. Service costed me 870 INR with the taxes and consumables. Planning to take it for a long ride (round about 200kms) and try to go past 85kmph and maintain there and check it highway stability.
The bike is returning me a good 41-42 kmpl inside city, Will definitely take breaks for every 50 kms (at least 10 mins).

If you want to do 110-120 all day and if you are into touring , CBR 250 is your best bet. Dont worry about the bike being discontinued, the ASC will still continue to provide spares. One thing, it will take time for the spares to reach as it is put on order against demand since takers for CBR is going less day by day.Originally posted by chidafn View PostThank you sir
I know about the engine capacity of CBR and R15s.
I just want to know whether yammie can do 110-120 whole day?.
On some posts here, I read that cost of maintenance in yammie is more than cbr250.
Thing is, if yammie can do 110-120 while day it can do things which I need and I may end of saving 70k. Else, Honda is final.
R15 is happy inside city and you can take it to highways, but the aggressive seating will take toll on your body as you ride continuously for hours. The bike will cruise easily at 90-100 kmph. Anything more, you will stress the engine and it is not good.R15S - Current
Honda Dio - Current
TNT 600i - Sold
Classic 500 - Sold
Pulsar 220 dtsi - Sold
Yamaha YBX125 - Sold

Indeed it's high. At the max it should be in and around 0.25 to 1.25 max for four stroked engines, if my memory serves me correct. Either the machine calibration was out of sync or there was some error in the calculation. 3.24 I am surprised.Originally posted by Rajarshi Mandal View PostHave you guys did recent Pollution test? I have done it and it seems to be pretty high at 3.24 CO. What are you guys getting?

The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

B7ACKTHORN I don't know why I'm not able to quote. And thanks for the reply, my bike's servicing is nearing soon, I should tell them to fix it. Last time also the CO was above 3.5, I told the SVC guys to fix it, but it seems that it's still very high. My 10 years old pulsar used to stay around 1.5.

Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi. Just a quick question. I ride my bike at a speed of 40 to 50 kmpl at most. This is one of the bikes that I have kept in my checklist. My question is, can I ride this at such speeds as my current bike. Will it hamper the bike in any way? Also, I plan to use the bikes in the city only.
Owners, could you shed some lights on this. Your answer could tilt me towards this bike big time!!!

Guys,
i had bought an R15s couple f months back. I had posted couple of posts on my occasional trips and i was very happy with its performance. you can see my bike's pictures in pg:37.
Last week, i was passing by KTM Showroom and saw the new ninja nd booked and got the delivery this friday.
I am placing up my R15s for sale. I abosultely love both the bikes but cant afford to have both. It has covered 2850 kms and is due for second service. 'PY' registration. If anybody is interested PM me.

Is there any mobile mounts for R15S(clip-on) handle bar?
Searched the web and the only option is RAM mount which i way too expensive.
Anyone did any mods in your R15S, like headlights, stickers, air filter change etc ? Please share if any.
Thank you.

Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
Yes it is can do low speed in city. Haven't faced any issue with that. During rainy season, I have not gone upwards of 60 kmph on wet roads. So it should be all ok. The question is how long can you resist the temptation of riding it at higher speed as it gathers speed in no time.Originally posted by vivekshrma View PostHi. Just a quick question. What was the on road price of ninja and is it the anniversary edition. In my opinion, Ideally you should have waited as all bikes would be getting ABS soon. The bike with such power definitely needs ABSOriginally posted by vmarutha View PostGuys,

As far as I've searched, there is no clip on mount for mobile phone. All mobile mount have spherical shape. You have limited space to mount mobile holder on R15 due to clip ons. Would recommend RAM mount if you are ok with. In my case, I use tank bag as they have transparent cover to help me navigate. As far as mod is concerned, I've just added a hazard light switch on my R15 nxt to front brake fluid. Very useful for early morning ride and during heavy rains. Next up will be installing a Bolt charger.Originally posted by Sundeep Sunil View PostIs there any mobile mounts for R15S(clip-on) handle bar?

Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
Honda has no current plans to replace the CBR250 in India, as mentioned by HMSI every damn time someone asks them.Originally posted by chidafn View PostThat's saddening if they discontinue CBR250R
If your touring speed is around 110, then r15 can do that. No need for CBR. But your back might suffer on the r15.
Consider the CBR 250 std model too. 30k cheaper.
Whatever mileage gains you may make on the r15 against the CBR would probably be wiped out by the Yamaha's short service intervals.
And yes, parts can be ordered from Honda.
