I was a silent member but now proud owner of R15 S. Purchased a Track white last month and have crossed 1500 KMs already. I am 39 yrs old and was initially looking at the R3, but at last minute settled for R15. I do not regret my decision now and happy with R15s.

I share the same pros and Cons as you all mentioned already.

However, i took a 500 km journey after the first service last weekend, i had a problem with my bike
after 200kms into th eride, i started pushing the bike above 5k RPM, i hit 7K rpm once with 98km/h. After this, the bike started hit rpm limiter and wasn't able to reach 7k rpm after that
the needle got stuck in 6800 rpm some times and 6500 rpms too. I went to yercaud and since uphill and downhill was no probs, coming back, myself and my co rider put ome thoughts onto what was wrong. Luckily, we were reminded of the RTO paper copy that we placed underneath the seat. we thought why not take it out, since there was a airhole beneath it. VOILA !!!, the vehicle was into its own, ie.., free revving till 7500 hitting 110 with ease on return journey.

So please be aware do not keep paper docs in the compartment underneath the seats.

The journey was perfect - learnt the bike's characteristics with caution while going uphill and slowly build confidence while coming downhill. I was able to lean, take more speed while taking U bends, it was hoot to drive.

Relished the drive, after a long time.

Well Congrats on your purchase. However, I tend to disagree because I keep my papers along with a piece of cloth to clean the bike at the same place and have clocked around 125 kmph on it. Maybe your bike was new that is why you had trouble in revving it up.

Hello,

I'll second vinay21987 here. I keep the papers in a zip lock wrap with even a small piece of cloth in that compartment and I still haven't faced any such issue what you mentioned. I have taken my bike to 7.5K - 9.5K RPM and 137 KMPH a few times just to test the character of the bike(on highway) without any probs.

In fact I think that box is there for the same purpose of keeping the papers or first aid box, not for air flow. I opened the seat and checked thoroughly , I didn't notice a way to make out its actually an air passage. What happened in your case, I'm not sure.

Regards.

Yes. I think i might be wrong in my conception. I complained of this rpm limiting issue to the service guy, and he at once rejected the papers playing spoilsport. He wanted to have the vehicle left in for service so that RPM data can be analysed. So please ignore my previous cause for problem. Should be something else. Right now i am happy with the way the vehicle goes. will have to get it checked in the second service.

Yes,the indicators are visible in the daytime. But I personally like tinting it better than this net thing. Isn't tinting better?

Hi guys,
I own an R15 S which is 5 months old and has done 3.2k on the odo, got the second service done at 2.4k. After the second service the mileage has dropped considerably(<40), before the service I used to get >45 easily and my driving style has been the same, my average speed is around 60 and I don't rip it a lot. I have seen ppl talking about the CO setting, can someone here throw some light on that? What is that setting actually and can we check it ourselves or should the SVC guys do it?

Thanks

It happened to my bike also. Yamaha service guys are very happy to screw our perfectly running bike. I was getting excess of 52 kmpl and after 2nd service I could barely able to reach 43 kmpl. After complaining to them, I could able to get 48kmpl. Just tell them mileage is very low after 2nd service, but I would advice you to just atleast 600-800 kms to know how much mileage you are getting in mixed conditions

Thanks Vijay,

I have checked the mileage from F to F by filling the tank to almost full. I give my bike for service at Bangalore Wheels,Rajajinagar and I feel their service is not up to the mark. Can you suggest some good service center in Bangalore?

Thanks

Your body will get adjusted to the riding position during running period itself. Dont worry. Depends on your fitness levels also. In my case it took more then a year.

Yesterday thought of cleaning air filter as service centre guys never do that . It seems pretty clean for 10K run R15S and can run for another 10k kms. Blowed air in the opposite direction and good to go. The other side of the filter has Rat guard fitted .. Thumbs up for yamaha.

Hello all,
I bought my bike one week back and from the time of delivery the radiator fan keeps on running. Like if I take out even for 2kms it starts running and I never did above 5k rpm also. I experienced it while riding through the rain in highway also. I have done around 640kms

Engine heats up during run in and thats normal. Let the body and the bike run in. If there is a overheat warning then only its a worry i think.
