Thanks for this. I was so sure it was in my head that the V2 was more comfortable. I test rode it after I did the r15s. So I guessed it was because I was already used to the forward lean that I felt more comfortable the second time. It was only my second time on a bike that had so much lean after all(I TR'd the Daytona 675R last year). I will go take a second TR of the R15 V 2.0. All said and done - I might be joining you R15s owners before Diwali..
No it doesn't. I have owned it for around 6 months, not even once I've scrapped my lower half of the bike on speedbreakers. Lot of it depends on how you ride as well. I always take it easy on speedbreakers and potholesOriginally posted by ponbaarathi View PostI am new to fairing bikes. Planning to buy r15s as my next bike. No brother, I am riding R15 V2 for last 2 years and never scraped my bike in 18 thousand kms till date.
Ride carefully when you see a hump and you will be fine.I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Its a saddle bag, it does not scarpe or touch exhaust, its made for duke but fits for R15s. Also there is a magnatic tank bag. Saddle bag cost - 2800 , tank bag 3000. From NH4 motorheads. They sell from their websites too. I got from their warehouse in bangalore. Decently priced with good quality.Originally posted by supratik View PostHi

Hello,
I am kind of facing this issue ... The first two gears feels sluggish... and some times I hear some noise like a vibration ( Imagine the sound if you are on the wrong gear minus the jerking ) ... Gear 3 and above us very good and smooth. bike is just 80 kms on odo. Any inputs ?

You could be upshifting too early. First few hundred kms mean you should be gentle on the throttle but dont 'lug' the engine either. Things will get better after the 1st serviceOriginally posted by srivaatsav View PostHello,

Seems like you are either running bad fuel or low quality one. Use some FI additive with it. Also bike has done JUST 80 KMS. Give it some time to gel , it will go away on its own. If there was a problem it would have been in all gears or completely alien .

Are you referring to the knocking sound by the engine, well the engine is new give it some time to run in and check after 1st service it will be smooth as butter on hot plateNo replacement for an engine Displacement

I too had slightly rough noise and vibey on high speed which is not the nature of this engine. Added liberal dose of Adon fuel additive (2 ml/lit) . After 20 odd kms engine is back with smoothness I was missing. No more hesitation post 80kmph. I came to know that new vehicles with O2 sensor comes with 6 hole injector (i believe). The holes are tiny so possibility of dirt accumulation is high. I am planning to add fuel filter in the injector line. But it shouldnot drop the pressure much.

Forgot to add another point. I have been noticing slight issue that brake oil is leaking mildly from rear brake bleeding nut. After few usages rear disc is rubbing against the disc. After opening the nut there are loads of air trapped in the fluid. Due to the compressible air trapped inside once the brake has been applied, the rubber seal didnt retract the pad causing the disc to heat and consuming the pads. After bleeding the rear brake is behaving perfectly.Last edited by vijaycool; 06-05-2016, 01:11 PM.

re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hey folks,
New member here. Already posted a thread here saying Hi with a little background and how I ended up buying an R15S -
Intro, little rant and bike search
Now, after doing a lot of hopping I bought an R15S which I found pretty swell for myself because-
- First, it's Yamaha. I'm shamelessly a Yamaha fan boy, not a good thing but I can't help it.
- Second, the single seat, thanks heaven my girlfriend can sit on it without holding for her dear life.
- Third, it matched most of my prerequisites of the new bike except ABS.
However, however, as I mentioned in the end of my first post there, I made a boo boo when I fell in love with the Cyber Green/Black R15S the day I visited there and I booked it without even a test ride; I'm going to explain it here. But first a poorly taken shot of the bike which I nicknamed "Dodo v2.0" as a successor to my FZ-16 "Dodo" -
Its been around 20 days and some 400 KMs in the odo. Now there are a few things I have in my mind, some initial impressions, a little rant and request for a few suggestions. Here they are -
> Now, why do I think I made a little boo-boo because the low end grunt is disappointing. I should've remembered that because I read a lot about it. I recently got a position of technical consultant in my company which in turn means that I no longer am entitled to the company cab and will have to travel on my own. To and for from my current location, its 30 KMs. Each way 15 KMs. Though, the low end is not dead for sure, it feels like just as same as my long gone FZ-16, or am I expecting too much from a finely tuned 150 cc?
>There are some vibrations, mostly at 2.5K-4K RPM range. I continuously hear Khrrr Khrrr noises from the front part in that range and a sound of something lightweight getting dragged all the times. It overall sounds like a P220 or for that matter any Pulsar, if you catch my drift.
I contacted the SVC mechanic and he had the same boiler plate response that its common with fairing bikes. No shit Sherlock!!!
I tightened some loose screws which I could using the screw driver available in the tool kit but a little annoying sound is still there.
> The low end torque is meh! In Pune stop and start traffic I keep wanting more but I once I hit somewhere after 6K RPM, by golly out of nowhere comes a sudden push from under my sweet little bottom and the bike turns into a bad *****. While this is a run in period and I'm keeping it under 5K RPM most of the times, I give her regular doses of higher RPM bursts. I don't want to pamper it too much, it spoils the character of the bike in long run.
> The seating position is new for me, I've never ridden a racing style bike before. My back, neck and wrists ached for first week but now I think my body has accepted it's ill-written fate by my own hands and this seating has become natural for me, nothing hurts much now.
I have read a lot about people who have done really really long tours on their R15s, so I think I'm in for a good ride. Plus I stand freakishly tall at 5 feet 5 inches, this bike seems to be built for guys like me. (Don't make short jokes, it puts me into murder rage. Also I might be joking here)
> The heat dissipation is good in traffic when its hot. I found the radiator fan hitting quite often the week I got the bike, it was 42 degrees in Pune then. The heat out-take doesn't burn your legs like in Duke 200, but you can feel it.
> The low beam of 35W is nonsense. And not because of the lamp itself but due to the reflector design. Can't help it. The high beam I have is on a little low so that it doesn't blind the incoming travelers. I think I'll need some suggestions on best quality and brightest 12v/35w bulbs which I can fit in here.
> I sorely miss the ABS. Front disk is very very good, read disk is pretty good but I managed to lock it twice on gravel, albeit on low speeds. I may have to adjust my braking style with this new bike, any suggestions would be really really appreciated.
I will keep posting my impressions or call for suggestions here. If any existing R15S owner(s) has anything for me which they think will be useful for me, please feel free to reply or tag me.
You guys are a good bunch of riders, xbhp.
Thanks.

You and me are from same category, i sold my Fz16 got R15s, so the torque of the FZ is missing here, Riding in bangalore traffic was really pain at starting 2000km, now I have done 10000, I have adjusted my riding style and breaking, so no compalaint of torque now, did had some sound buzzing from front fairing but my service guy fixed it , it was coming from visor. I did many long trips and its really a fabulous machine on highways. I have adjusted the screw and focused the light properly, highbeam is excellent now, low beam is some what ok for me.Originally posted by PrinceCruise View PostHey folks,
