re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
I've done around 2100 kms and most of them have been city riding with a mileage of 48 kmpl. Max I touched was 105 kmph on an empty stretch of road but before bike could give in, I gave up and started riding sanely. Zero issues found yet.Originally posted by vijaycool View Post

Hi Naveen, thanks for the vote bro.
Hi vjxm, thanks for that info on the FI system. Will look into it further.
Hi DJ,
Thank you so much for taking out your time and sharing the experience!! Means a lot bro [emoji4] And I'm glad you understood my query here... After reading your post, my head seems a lot more clear now! And it is now completely rinsed of the fancy RS for sure. Hehe. Thanks again.
Hi again Supratik,
I'm young, at 25, I've got a sound hands-on experience with the supersports owned by my friends/colleagues. Also, by the grace of God...I've got a responsible head on my shoulders too. Yes this is gonna be my first ever bike. And as you know...every kid is like really excited for the "first ever " stuff...and I too fall under same category! Anyways... After listening to you and the other brothers here, my mind is now cleared off the fancy stuff and is now more determined over a good bike overall. And Yamaha fits the bill hands down. And most importantly...My mind now matches the same beats as my heart and that's: YZF R15!!
Also thanks for pointing out at the riding gears and helmet. I liked the SOL. Will surely look into that once I book my bike. Thanks a lot for sharing your experience and thoughts. Much appreciated. [emoji4]

OK, so much discussion is going on that I couldn't control myself.Originally posted by SultanUM View PostHi all Yammie R15 owners!
I need some feedback from you all.
This bike which comes around 1.4L marker does provide the best engine, clutch and gearbox. Which makes me love the bike.
BUT!
It's lacks most of the latest and happening features such as Projector headlamps, LED lights on indicators/tail/parking, has an outdated speedo, has some low quality finish (especially those rubber stuff around front and that weird gap between tank and fairing)....All of which upsets me so much because I never expected this from yamaha!
NOW...
I love the bike. But because of above mentioned missing/faulty stuff...I don't feel like investing so much money on it.
I test rode and it definitely felt more punchy than the v2 itself. I went to showroom TWICE to make the purchase...But everytime I just dropped the idea and returned back. Something seems to hold me back. Like there is some sort of dissatisfaction.
Can the owners respond with their satisfaction ratios for the amount of money that they have spent on this beast?
Regards,
Sultan
[MENTION=82496]SultanUM[/MENTION], I somewhat agree with you that it misses some of the latest eye candy technologies or looks. For me it's that the headlight on low beam is pretty weak, and, the tail section should have been refined for a more futuristic look.
Apart from these, it's a different beast for 150cc segment. After 4.5-5K RPM, it's incredible. Handling is superb and after sometime adjusting yourself with the bike you will feel that it's not you but that the motorcycle itself is holding you up while riding. For a 17BHP bike, mileage is good too, that is also if you don't rev hard and properly shift gear at different speeds. Maintenance cost is low too.

As far as speedo is concerned, I like more and more needles than any thing else. Digital speedos are not much reliable as compared to analouge speedos. I like moving needles than thise plain numeric digits. Bajaj started this trend in India at a time when even sbks and many other higher capacity bikes were coming with analouge instrument clusters. All in all digital speedo us just a gimmic nothing else.sigpic

Hello Sultan,
Yes, it lacks few features(tail lamp & rubber material) which yamaha could have done better.
But the name itself says everything
and these things doesn't matter much I feel.
In my case, this was my dream bike
when it got released in 2008 I used to see this bike everywhere and wanted to get this one (but couldn't as I had just joined ma degree).
But before I could get this, it was stopped and V2 was released (didnt like at all bcs of pillon)
I was craving for the V1 and many times thot of buying second hand as well.
As they say, dreams sometimes come true, saw R15s getting released.
Honestly speaking, except colour selection I didnt check anything about the bike.
I just got my dream bike which I was waiting since 2008
and I am loving every bit of it.
And what can I say, everything is superb and awesome, the engine, performance, mileage, sound, the attention we get ;-) on road.
JUST FOLLOW YOUR HEART
you will be happy and satisfied
All the Best
see you as R15 biker

Hey vinay... Thought processing is the major hurdle when buying this one bro! Because if we were to go just by our heart...undoubtedly the smallest YZF-R available in our country resides in many young hearts such as my own [emoji4]Originally posted by vinay21987 View PostEven I went through this thought process many times. Patience did yield good results after all [emoji3]

This is reason why I mentioned you to go with your heart.Originally posted by SultanUM View PostHey vinay... Thought processing is the major hurdle when buying this one bro! re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
I am noticing for the past 100kms engine refinement continue to improve. Till 1900kms on the odo the engine is vibey , hesitation to accelerate until considerable throttle input is given, feels like another splendor . All of sudden there is marked improvement in smoothness. With the same throttle input bike is doing 1000-1500 rpm more which results in crisp acceleration. Oil has been changed at 1000 Km on the odo and currently standing 2020 kms. I drove today between 6-7k rpm and I have noticed radiator fan is running. It denotes engine is still breaking in and the mileage continue to improve.
