It means r15s is a cross between r15v2 and r15v1. Right...??

Yes I think so. Its a compact bike , ticking all necessary boxes. Superb mileage, high speed capability, benchmark build quality. I got used to the stance and i am loving every bit of it (except traffic driving).[emoji4]

The kind of attention this bike gives you on road is second to none. I recently had an encounter with a Ninja 300 (surely mu next bike) owner at a traffic signal and he was quite interested in checking it out. All you have to do is act cool 😉😂

Hello Guys,

Got spark green colour bike a month back ..Its just superb and I can say its catching the eyes of everyone thanks to anunay for helping me in choosing the colour.

I already completed 1050kms and got my first service done as well and engine is very smooth.

I am loving every bit of it and getting excellent mileage of 48km.

But, I am not able to get the Tank Pad for the bike in showroom.

Could anyone suggest can I get the tank pad online ? if any ?

Thanks

HI guys,

Noobie biker here. I am hoping to book this bike next week.

Used to ride K-Bajaj 4S in college ages ago. Now riding an Aviator. Was hoping to get a revised Gixxer SF, but looks like they don't want to commit on when it might be available. And I have waited for a while.

My question is: Do you get/need seat covers for this bike easily? We do have some nasty characters that can rip a bike seat for sadistic satisfaction. My Aviator knows only too well.

Its very easy to find a seat cover now a days. Infact you can get custom made seat covers also.

Thanks Naveen1985. I am told that the bike would be available in 10-15 days after booking.

Another question:

The FZ-S (or R15 v2, for that matter) seems to have a nice rear-tyre hugger, presumably keeping down water splash, but the R15S doesn't. I am guessing this bike has not seen a proper monsoon, but guys in south India do get rains even in December. Anyone notice the need for temporary shields (cardboard/plastic) on sides of rear tyre?

Thanks again.

I don't think r15s needs a hugger for monsoons because it comes with a long and practical rear fender.

Hi,
I am really got confused between r15s and rs200..
I like Rs200 because easy to ride,ABS,200cc,features and VFM and R15s due to sheer quality and reliability and very much concerned about riding posture, may cause back pain due to heavy Bangalore traffic,no abs and 150cc so please help me in deciding.
Bike will be 98% city ride.
Thanks in advance.

I was going through same confusion while buying my R15. RS 200 is a good bike but it was struck of my list for four reason:
1) Have heard from couple of friends who own RS 200 that rear break is very sensitive and tends to lock up easily (Peronal opinion of my friends though, others may not have faced same issue) .
2) High compression ratio which means bike will heat up fast (correct me if I am wrong)
3) Its coming from Bajaj so quality and reliability was always an issue.
4) Weight of the bike. Always had a fear of not being capable enough to handle the weight while riding through stop go traffic.

Hence stuck to R15 as its always fun and gives you lot less headache 😂

Best way to determine would be to test ride both bikes and the make your final decision. Good luck 👍

peace of mind vs more bang for your buck
simple...

On a serious note power will not be a problem with any of the bikes as one is lighter with lesser power and other one comes with more power but with less agile frame and more weight. Both R15 and RS200 are peaky in nature. Main difference between both these machines is riding posture. So just test ride both of them and decide...

Hi all Yammie R15 owners!

I need some feedback from you all.

This bike which comes around 1.4L marker does provide the best engine, clutch and gearbox. Which makes me love the bike.

BUT!

It's lacks most of the latest and happening features such as Projector headlamps, LED lights on indicators/tail/parking, has an outdated speedo, has some low quality finish (especially those rubber stuff around front and that weird gap between tank and fairing)....All of which upsets me so much because I never expected this from yamaha!

NOW...

I love the bike. But because of above mentioned missing/faulty stuff...I don't feel like investing so much money on it.

I test rode and it definitely felt more punchy than the v2 itself. I went to showroom TWICE to make the purchase...But everytime I just dropped the idea and returned back. Something seems to hold me back. Like there is some sort of dissatisfaction.

Can the owners respond with their satisfaction ratios for the amount of money that they have spent on this beast?

Regards,
Sultan

After a long and acrimonious day at the office, your post has at least tickled the funnybones If you rate the engine, clutch and gearbox as the best in class, considering that these are the bits which is the heart and soul of a machine and also contributes most to the cost of production, rather than the other cosmetic bits, what more do you expect for less than 1.4l?!

Originally posted by SultanUM View Post

If projector headlamps and LED on the tail matters more, one is better off buying the Pulsar AS200. You get more power too. What you miss out on is the build quality and perhaps reliability, not to mention the fuel injection, if it matters to you. I feel you are confusing your priorities here and cosmetic bits seem to be more important. What you term as an outdated speedo is actually a feature many (and also I) love about the bike. Not sure what you mean about the gap between tank and fairing, at any rate, the fairing does not rattle unlike many other makes.

Wonder how the said ratio in the last line is calculated You seem to be yearning for some bling and oomph...why not consider the RS200? The unique (?!) tail is sure to fire your imagination and the extra firepower will also send your money to satisfaction ratio skyrocketing!

While you haven't mentioned your biking experience, if you are a newbie, I will recommend that you pick up either the S or the V2 eyes closed, perhaps the best bike out there which allows you to expand your skills safely, its forgiving nature keeping you on the saddle when a more temperamental machine may send you tumbling.

Ultimately, go with what tugs at your heartstrings, no point in plotting imaginary ratios when it comes to motorcycling
