I am sure on the cold the rpm is certainly higher. Within 2 minutes rpm drops and comes to the steady state around 1400 rpm. The inputs will be taken from the coolant temperature sensor to speed up coolant temperature. Once the temperature stabilizes rpm adjusts to the preset temperature. I feel this is absolute necessity for forged pistons as the cylinder wall to piston clearance is higher.

I have read the manual which says let the bike cool for 5-10 mins after 1 hr of riding. Did you follow this advice in your long distance trip?
Hi vinay, could you pls let us know the reasons you chose R15s over Cbr250r? Also, is it comfortable for taller guys as you had an apprehension about comfort on R15s?

I don't have one but I think one reason is budget, weight(rare though ) and another would be fuel efficiency .its just my guess

Hello, brother, i too felt the same. It is nothing but the Petrol inside the tanks, which makes u feel to and fro. As it also adds to the weight, and you feel it sometimes only when ur tank is above half full. Dont worry you'll soon get used to it

Hi, I always had soft corner for R15 from early days. Plus my dad was against 250cc. He thought 250 cc was too much power and hence has was ok with 150 cc. Riding position on R15 does take time to get used to. At first I used to have shoulder pain buy now its not there. Seats are hard on R15s. Ok to be used for city commutes bit not for long distance touring. You would definitely need something better. Anyon above 5'10 will find it bit difficult to adjust on the bike. It may become too small for them. As one of the mod gave me a good adivce ''Follow what your heart wants''. My heart screamed for R15, for me R15 is ❤

Got the 2nd service done at the 3006 km mark and the 52nd day mark from the date of purchase. Opted for mineral oil (20W40) and the bill came to Rs 740 including consumables.

Learnt while paying the bill that the oil filter wasn't replaced and insisted they replace it. Was told that the existing filter would last till the next service but went by the manual's instruction of changing the filter at every service.

The bottom end seems considerably better.

ok guys now i am also officially joined your tribe,
got delivery of R15S white/blue today evening.

well its my 2nd R15 , there is long story how i again purchased R15. read below if have time else skip to last para

i got my R15 in 2008 first batch and i was one of the 20 owners who got bike on first day during the launch event, i can't forget that day as yamaha took all of us who booked bike to 5star hotel for lunch and presentation on bike held there , later they took us to a shopping mall and launched the bike there and handing over the keys to owners in that function. since then my actual bike trips started with R15, i kept R15 for 6 long years and completed around 68,000 km on it before selling it. and reliability is unmatched , took it to kanyakumari and kashmir , from Leh to pangong it held very well.

i upgraded from R15 to Hyosung GT250R and had lot of fun with it , sold it after 2 years and riding some 22,000 km on it, as i found some component reliability issues. later took one used CBR250R but had bad timing with it and pathetic support from Honda SVC forced me to sell it [used it for 1 year and 7,000km]. at this time i had left with no bikes, and was using cousins Ninja250R for 6 months before he sold it.

now i left with few choices , had thought of going for R3 , but backed away due to financial commitments [year back got married and purchased some property] , but still wanted to get R3, now if i go for R3 then i can't take that bike to everywhere as ppl will tamper with it whenever i park it in un-safe location and can't use it for daily commute. well can't buy 2 bikes at a time also . so wife suggested to get new R15S as both my previous bikes don't allow pillion comfort.

so i got R15S as my daily commute bike, and will get big bike in 2 years when i feel i can go for it. so R15s now is substitute for spare bike [like activa] , i should have got Fasino but wife don't like to ride scooters and i promised her to get a small car :P

Now the Difference b/w V1 and V2s --> R15S V2 has good low end and mid power + big horn + very smooth gear and accerlation , but the riding position is lil more sporty than V1, and both pillion and rider seat height is almost same as V2 split seats version , its just single in V2S.
