Thanks Guys!! I already had an accident with the tyres so went ahead and got them changed. I went with Apollo Alpha 130/70 for the rear and 90/90 Apollo for the front. I've been riding for a couple of days and I must say that the control over my bike is amazing. Yesterday itself I rode for 99.3 kms in the city but i was minimally tired. Riding has become comfortable too!!

Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
Guys, my R15S front brake pads are due for a replacement. Can you suggest any performance brake pads or do you suggest P220's braided hose with R15 new brake pads? I need a little more stopping power in the front as I use only front most of the times.
Cheers.

Why not. Steel braided lines do help with improved feedback and being front dependent helps provide even a bit more bite and feedback. If you can spend a little more, then buy HEL steel braided line (front) for R15v2 from helperformance.com. With shipping, it will cost 39.15 pounds (3400/- approx) and take some 10days to deliver to India.Originally posted by emkayindia View PostGuys, my R15S front brake pads are due for a replacement. Install it, bleed it with STP DOT4 Brake fluid & the brakes will be sharp with stock pads.
P.S. The lines doesn't come with fixing clamps, so you need a jugaad to fix it with cable ties & rubber hose cutout to protect from rubbing.Regards

Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
I need 3 parts for my R15S that no YAMAHA care has been able to solve . Somehow these were dropped during the service and Tyre change process at the service station. Now experiencing so bad noise from rear wheel due to these 3 things and YAMAHA is not taking accountability for their mistakes. '
1. Brake Pad covers ( 2 Numbers).
2. The small bracket that holds the caliper(Rear) .
Attached image for reference.
Can someone help me in getting these 3 parts.

Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
The brake pad backing plate that you've circled, won't be available separately, you will only have to purchase a new brake pad. Why would someone sell a metal plate without the brake pad material! The plate and the brake pad material are fused together, so if you feel squeaking or pad wear, change the brake pads as a set. Secondly, the small bracket will come as a complete set with the rear caliper, and if it's the caliper slider pins, it's not sold as a separate part, as far as I can remember.Originally posted by sunnylovesalman View PostI need 3 parts for my R15S that no YAMAHA care has been able to solve . Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
I checked with YAMAHA and the brake pads dont have pad covers (Official and Unofficial) and secondly the entire caliper set doesnt have the holding bracket as a part also checked with YAMAHA official. Hence this thread post if someone has the knowledge to help me or arrange them for me. '

I'd suggest you post a picture of it from your actual bike, circled in red and in clear. Then we'll see, if that part will be available individually or not.Originally posted by sunnylovesalman View PostI checked with YAMAHA and the brake pads dont have pad covers (Official and Unofficial) and secondly the entire caliper set doesnt have the holding bracket as a part also checked with YAMAHA official. I though you were referring to the Screech Plate, I just noticed the image you'd shared.
That's the spring plate, you can get it as part of the Major Overhaul Kit provided Yamaha provides the same, it used to be available as such with Major Caliper Overhaul Kits available at Bajaj Spares.Last edited by ashwinprakas; 09-03-2019, 10:48 PM.Motorcycling Experience:

Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
I am referring to this Brake pad Cover . That comes with YAMAHA R15. This is not available with new brake pads. And if somehow this is misplaced then the amount of sound the bike makes from rear caliper is just sure to blow away minds. Its so irritating and loud of a metal on metal sound.

My first guess was right then.Originally posted by sunnylovesalman View PostI am referring to this Brake pad Cover . That comes with YAMAHA R15. This is not available with new brake pads. The part shown in the picture is the screech plate, its only purpose is to screech when the pad reaches its service limit, other than that it serves no purpose.
I'd suggest you look elsewhere.
I'd faced a similar issue with sourcing the Screech plate for my ZMA, as the part was not available at the ASC and it wasn't even marked with a part number in the parts catalog. Though my motorcycle ran just fine without it as I monitor brake pad wear by keeping an eye on the brake fluid level.Last edited by ashwinprakas; 09-03-2019, 11:52 PM.Motorcycling Experience:

Re: Yamaha YZF- R15 S Owners Reviews and Experiences
I think you're referring to the metal plate that is on the back of the brake pad, an add-on cover to the rear brake pads? If that's lost then you're a goner, it won't be available. You have to look at another R15 V2.0's used rear brake pad, and take the cover from it. That cover won't be available as a separate accessory. They come as stock on the factory brake pads, and they also are present in replacement Yamaha brake pads. Surprisingly my R15S' pads don't have such additional plate.Originally posted by sunnylovesalman View PostI am referring to this Brake pad Cover . That comes with YAMAHA R15. My R15S' stock, caliper came with Nissin pads both front and rear and without these plates from the factory, and since I replaced them recently and bled the brakes, the pad was pretty much simple without these add on plates. From what I reckon, these plates help prevent corrosion of the brake pad backing plate and helps prevent brake pad grabbing.
I haven't found any problem whatsoever, squeals, squeaks, nada. Sharp as ever. Cost cutting by Yamaha, I reckon it can be. But, now I am thinking to get these too. Thank you for bringing this up. I did confuse myself with the pad springs, which is the exact reason why I asked you for a picture of the same.
Good luck.
Hope it helps!
Cheers!

I wud post a pic today. But thats a part of the 3 things missing. The small bracket hokding the caliper is also vital as i have done 3 jugaad to completely close the noise but its temporary.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostI think you're referring to the metal plate that is on the back of the brake pad, an add-on cover to the rear brake pads? I have cut a iron sheet and fit with fevikwik as a bracket to the caliper holder. Then i have cut the same lid plate as brake pad cover and attached them to the brake pad with fevikwik.now fit the brake pads.the brake pads are close to new and doesnt need replacement.its just that the screetch plates and the holding bracket was the culprit.
There is 0 sound from the rear brake now and my bike holds the brake at a speed of 90+ speed with honey smoothness.
PS: if you own a r15s and ever try for a tyre change be very careful u dont drop these 3 things by the mechanic.you wud get noise upto a level of 70 db from rear wheel anf with these ur bike wud run like honey.
Shall post a pic as soon as i open my garage today.
