Yes, I got information from a dealership on Feb 2019 itself. The production of S is stopped since ABS is mandated and Yamaha had no idea of launching S version with ABS.

Now, the remaining stocks are getting sold at the dealerships.

True. The production of the R15s has been stopped by the factory is the same thing that's echoed on almost every showroom. It can be a temporarily factor, as they might be updated for an ABS setup, for which the production might be halted and re-produced. We'll have to wait and see. But, for now, I can confirm the showroom folks aren't entertaining any R15s booking.

          Hi guys,

Can some member from Delhi suggest a good mechanic who can perform the fork alignment menthod in this video:-

(the method which involves loosening of the front assembly and then pressing the front end a dozen times to straighten everything)

I think my forks are not parallel to each other and need to try this method but don't have the tools.

But I doubt about relaunching with ABS.

Because, Yamaha launched S version as some customers requested for the same because of V2 seat height.

At that time, very few bikes had seat height like V2 and so they brought S version.

But today, 8/10 bikes are with more or less such seat heights and so Yamaha might won’t bring it back with ABS now.

Who knows, they might do it. We have to wait and watch.

Connectors to the clutch switch, beside clutch lever might be loose. Check and properly connect the wires if loose.

There is something called clutch switch beneath your left clutch lever. If you peep in you will see a switch and a connector with a bunch of wires going in. Check if this connector is loose or undone. If everything's connected fine and you still have issue starting, replace the switch, the switch might be faulty. But before that, check the connector if it's properly inserted and not loose.

I have attached a pic herewith. Circled in thick red named switch.

Guys, I need an advice. I have completed over 21,300 kms on my bike. Of late my bike has been skidding a lot. The front tire tread of the bike has become thin. The rear tire has the tread. But the same cannot be said for the front tire. I have attached the pictures of my tires.

Do I need to change the tires? If yes, Do I need to change both or just the front tire will do.

Also, which tire brands are good. I usually ride 40-50kms daily on an average in the city and occasionally on highways. I urgently need a solution guys. Please help!!!

Going by the pictures, the tyres still have some life left as i can see the treads well.

But if you are feeling uncomfortable, do get the tyres changed.

It is better to change both tyres at once. Keeps the bike's balance and behavior intact.

As far as the tyre concerns, stick to stock tyres/stock size. They're better on the R15.

The tire is worn, and you can see the wear indicator marks almost visible. Your tire will feel twitchy and feel like skidding off over mild gravel and wet, replace the front tire. The rear can be extended another 2 to 3k easily considering it's not punctured patched more than one to two times. Stick with the stock MRF 90/80 Zapper FYI for the front tire, it's the best tire that the R15 can get. You go a size high and the handling gets crappy for sure. The rear you can use any other brand, but I'd still prefer the Revs S, as it is much more confidence inspiring. Always replace tire as a set for better handling characteristics.

                              Cheers!

Tyre life is almost over mate and that's why it is skidding.
Even I had to replace the Front tyre early, at around 24986km (to be precise) and I opted for PIRELLI ANGEL CITY 90/90 R17 as it is S-rated tyre, than stock N or P-rated tyre. The stock size is 90/80-R17, but I experimented with 90/90-R17. And the results are:
Better Grip in both dry & wet conditions than stock tyre for sure. Cornering gives more confident. Braking distance reduced than earlier due to very good road grip.Try the tyre, you will never regret.

Even I was thinking exactly like you but after using pirelli I never recommend MRF stock tyres to anyone. Actually 90/90 17 handles very little heavy (say 2-3%) but inspires confidence in braking, cornering speed & wet grip by quite a margin.Click image for larger version
