              Hi Rahul,

How've you been? Can you confirm which lube are you using? Also are you sure that there is rust coming off and not just general grime?

              Regards,
              Kunal

If you're chain is getting rusted, use kerosene to wash the chain with a tooth brush and make sure you clean the chain thoroughly first. Then, wipe the chain dry and make sure you use gear oil and make sure it's lubed well. The reason it's getting rusted is due to the water quality and the roads that it is running on. The key is to make sure the existing rust is cleaned off well, and the chain lubed well. Too little lube will cause rusting given the right circumstances.

                Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Guys, while commuting to office last friday, suddenly motorcycle came to halt like someone hit the kill switch. Upon checking, fuse was blown. Yesterday I have swapped the new fuse and have not faced any issue. Today again at middle of highway, I was stranded with a blown fuse. It was a scary experience as my mobile ran out of juice and I had to push my dead motorcycle for 10km with all the riding Gears on. I'm not good at electrical things, can you guys help me get to the root of the problem so that fuse would not blow again. Please assist me.

Have you installed any additional electrical components, like aux lights or additional horns? Possibly it's shorting somewhere that's the reason it's repeatedly blowing off.

                      Cheers!

No I have not installed any after market components. I don't know which electrical component to check. Is anyone in the forum faced this repeated fuse blown? Please assist me.

Haven't blown of fuse on mine yet, it's run close to 20k + kms. A blown fuse can be due to water ingress and cause shorting of wires or wires that are grounding to the body which can cause a fuse to blow. The reason the fuse is blowing is due to excess current draw due to shorting or a failed or failing component. Are your headlights always on? Start off by inspecting your battery, make sure the terminals aren't touching with anything metallic. Secondly, a faulty bulb or a failing bulb in anything, be it indicators or headlights or faulty oxidized holders too can cause a fuse to blow up repeatedly. Check your indicators, lights everything and observe if the fuse it blowing up. With the bike engine running, turn your handlebars left and right and see if the bike stalls, keep your observations posted.

                          Cheers!

                            Happens.

Use a test lamp and do a shakedown of the harness and attached electrical's.

The thing about electrical issues are that the chances of them being identical are slim on well built motorcycles, so I believe you'd have better luck diagnosing the issue on your own.

You gotta understand, he clearly mentioned he's not very good when it comes to checking electrical things out. Well, let's make it easy for him to at least start off with basics. Hopefully that is, since all this shakedown, and intermediate stuff would definitely freeze him up.

                              Cheers!

If a person has the presence of mind to use Google and be a member of xBhp, then all that is required is for us to give them a lead and for them to do their own research.
