Its not an issue, it comes with practice. I hope you are wearing proper shoes while riding.

The front brake is supposed to be stronger and more aggressive than rear brakes. It provides 70% of the braking power.

Just to be recapping the posts I went through (again), the initial RPM to look out for is 5k upto 500 km and 7k upto 1000 km, right?

The R15 has silky gearshifts, its a joy to use and hence am surprised you are not able to find neutral. Why would would you go 3-2-N? When you slow down you should go all the way down to 1st and then just a light tap up on the lever and voila! you have neutral. While slowing down in traffic go all the way down to 1st, come to a stop and then tap up to N, it would become 2nd nature with practice.

Refer to your manual for the running in, use it as a guide and rev cleanly through the gears. Simple rule of thumb is to take it easy while running it in.

Thanks RoyalIndian and supratik, valuable advice.

I guess I am a little conservative ; I haven't been able to get over 4k rpm much. Plus the city traffic in Thane doesn't allow much freedom.

Which coolant does yamaha use from factory?. Coolant was below low mark right from the factory and I have noticed from the day I bought. Though the coolant level hasnt dropped below that mark, I thought I will top up the later stage. So I bought Yamalube coolant under license from Motul. When i checked the coolant from the reservoir cap the color was bluish green. But the counter purchased coolant is Fluorescent green. I was worried with the mix up of non compatible coolant. Hence used 100 ml of deionized distil water to the tank.

Factory Filled coolant

Here is an picture for a better understanding. What can be done now?

These scratches are not from inside.

properly wash the headlamp glass with shampoo and water.
>then apply toothpaste on the glass and rub for sometime with your fingers or a piece of cloth
>wash thoroughly
> apply a wax polish like wax pol or any other
> polish it with a cloth
> Your issue would be reduced to a great extent.\

Hope that helps

After 1st service there still some vibrations After 6k rpm in any gear, some coming from Visor and other don't know from where.
asked SVC , they said , leave the bike for 2 days and will fix the issue , and even the mechanic said he has to adjust Tappet. So i silently come back with bike. no way i let them to touch the tappets

Try using a rubbing compound, should get rid of the scratch on the fibre part if it's not too deep, as far as the headlight is concerned I don't think you have an option

Is the sound coming from left or the right side? In my case it was from the left side and I was also thinking that it may be the visor. After careful inspection I found out that it was actually the clutch free play adjuster which was loose, the vibration sound went away after tightening it.

My bike is ready for second service now, Could someone pls tell me what all things needs to be checked and done in the 2nd service ?

In the 1st service, they just changed the oil filter and engine oil and chain lubrication and tightening of the screws.

Thanks in advance
Amit

Yamaha doesn't give bike for test ride in Bangalore? I visited Orion Motors Koramangala twice. Once they said the bikers are gone for some event and another time thought they had the bike they refused to give. Yesterday visited Orion Motors Belandur, when i asked for test ride of r15s or r15v2 they said they don't have any test ride bike and Yamaha it self doesn't provide test bikes it seems. I really wanted to test ride this bike.

Hi guys,

Got the first service done near 30 day period. Only 380+ km on the odometer.

Before service, I am of the opinion that the gear shifts are very smooth.

Haven't ridden much to comment about after service.

Anyway, first service costed 951 (Yamaha lube 550, oil filter 201, chain lube 150, consumables 50). Nothing out of the ordinary.

I must admit, limiting to 5k rpm is quite a task!

Cheers,

Nandan

The sound is coming from visor, i am too having , (left corner of visor attachment) just hold visor and rev the engine you can feel the vibes going off. Regarding ttappet go for the adjustment, its not that dangerous you think , i did it at my 2nd service. Its ok. If you dont do, you may lose the top end power.
