You are correct. That was one of the reason's why I waited for purchasing a sportsbike, benelli 300, Ninja 300 or the R3. But when i saw the ninja in person with the WSBK livery, all those thoughts were put aside, and all teh demons let loose. all this happened within 3-4 days. Imaging, hwo restless would i have been.

Has anyone installed centre stand on their R15s, I know it is a silly question. If so, I want to see how the bike looks on a centre stand, I am thinking of getting it installed. Finding it difficult to clean the chain eveytime.

I want to know the same thing for Ninja.. Unfortunately, the only solution is Paddock stand.. If you come across any other solution, please do let me know..

To be quite honest, have seen it on one old R15 and it looked horrible. Doesn't go with the sports bike at all. Better off using paddock stand. Center stand serves the purpose but looks ugly.

Yes i do have a center stand with mounting rod. costed me around 350 Rupees. But is used only when i clean and lube the chain and sprockets. Yo can detach the mounting rod once lubing is complete. Yamaha RX 150's stand perfectly suits R15. Do not have it permanently fixed in the vehicle, otherwise the underbody will scrape easily.

That should be fine. We can detach the stand once the job is completed.

I was also looking for a center stand, temporary one though. so after finding for some time, I bought the center stand which is used by the service center guys when the service the bikes from my service center itself. The new one costed me total of 720 Rs. (650 Rs. of the new stand for r15 + 70 Rs. for the new mounting rod).
Fits perfectly and once the cleaning is done, just remove.

I searched for RX's center stand but wasn't able to find one, would've costed me half of the bucks I spent on center stand of R15.

                Regards.

Can be done. Using the RX 100 main stand with the pin in all should cost no more than 200 rupees. These aren't a permanent "in the bike stand" though it can be done, it might impede the bike's ability to corner. You can keep it as a temporary lube/clean solution and uninstall it after the procedure.

@rreneav1987 Unfortunately the Ninja doesn't have the eye/mount point to install the stand or the shaft pin. The R15 somehow has this mount provision, so it's an easy jugaad fix. If you an own a Ninja a paddock shouldn't be that much of a pinch to your pocket

                  Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                  The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                  THE END

                    Hi guys,

I just happened to give my New R15s for first service. The ODO was 344 Kms, metal parts can be seen in the oil filter. Got Yamalube Fully synthetic. The engine is a little bit smooth, Glad i got that break-in metal residue out of the engine. I was told that the Center stand that they were using was of TVS Jive, they used gear oil for chain lubrication.

My only thing is when the radiator fan kicks it stays ON for 5-7 mins, the coolant is full. I am assuming that this is normal for an engine that is just breaking in.

I do own a Ninja 250R.. I had to save for close to 5 years for it

Unfortunately, I am from a middle class family and I don't have much to save for myself to get a Paddock stand..

What is that 'Quick Service'. I never had such things in my billing. Did you ask them ??

'Quick Service' is offered by certain service center's, they charge you Rs150 for it, and they service your bike instantly in front of you in about 45 minutes. By the time i had reached the service center there were 15 bikes before me, so I opted for 'Quick Service' and they serviced my bike in 45 mins in front of me and gave it to me.

Thats encouraging. I never heard of such services here in Chennai, at least at the center where I give. I will inquire with them about this. Thanks for the clarification.

Update on the headlight bulb of my R15S :-

I didn't really get a lot of time recently however today I went ahead to the main city area(Nana Peth) to look for some replacements of possibly all the bulbs.

Replaced the parking lights with 2 normal white wedge LEDs, the illumination is good and it can be seen from a good distance. So these are the DRL for me.

Couldn't find any LED tail lamp alternative for the kind of buld type R15S has, but I found a same filament type bulb of 12v 10/5W so I installed it. The OEM one is of 12v 21/10W, so I think I'm saving some 10/5 watts there(STOP/NORMAL).

Also got 4 LED parking indicators, replaced all 4 turn indicators with those LEDs myself.

Now, I got one 12v 60/55W OSRAM BILUX H4 type bulb(P43t, 64193). The OEM ones are same OSRAM BILUX HS1 12V but 35/35W, thus I thought of keeping the same manufacturer and H4 is a direct fit to HS1. Costed me 100 bucks only.

I replaced it myself, didn't go out today as I type so can't really tell the difference as of now. However my query is(pardon me if this has been asked before) -

                              - Am I saving enough amount of power with the parking/turn LEDs and smaller tail lamp I just replaced with that I can use that for 55w?

                              - I'll be using that new 55w bulb in low beam and I in city ride only with low beam(35w high beam will be only for either flashing or highways at night), still I'm concerned that will it have any adverse effect on the stock battery or the reflector of R15S?

                              Thanks in advance.
