Re: Benelli TNT 25 Ownership Experience
I accept your feeling for the bike, each and every owner here love their bike and they love it no matter what flaws or problems! That doesn't stop the reality one faces brother because it's every individual's experience. Cheers!Originally posted by ROHAN SPEEDOFREAK SHARMA View Post

Re: Benelli TNT 25 Ownership Experience
Just in the interest of information, sliding-mesh gearboxes are old and aren't widely used anymore. Modern motorcycles use constant mesh dog shifted boxes (eceptions I know of are the VFR with a Dual-clutch transmissions and the seamless-boxes used in MototGP). Synchronous-mesh is not a racing derived tech, it was devised as a solution for the skills required to shift a sliding mesh gearbox(some of the older members here might know about the double clutching exercise you needed to pull off to shift gears in that case). In fact, most race-cars use a gearbox similar to our "motorcycle gearbox", i.e constant-mesh dog shifted.Originally posted by ROHAN SPEEDOFREAK SHARMA View PostHello, i dont think i can convince my parents to give me 21k for a single disk brake ( that too just for some extra effort) its not a compulsory part!
As for the gears -
The new bikes comes with synchromesh gearbox on it benelli and some other company have derived it from race bikes so its a different structure. The 1 N 2 gears are on other shaft and 3 4 5 6 are on other shaft . Unlike the sliding mesh gearbox which are on same shaft. So when i drop gears to bring the bike on neutral. Its 6 5 4 3 and then the counter shaft has to go to another shaft to select 2nd gear which on another shaft is revolving at its different speed (some complex engineering) due to this " gear confusion" happens that means the counter shaft locks the gears when it comes from 3rd . So when my tyre locked at this point its not because of the engine , its because of the gearbox lockup. This happens only is speeds over 50 i guess. Happened twice with me on 80. To avoid this a solution which the benelli guy gave was when dropping the gear engage the clutch at 3rd gear so as to bring the speeds of both the shafts to almost similar speeds then engage 2nd , 1st or neutral.
Synchronous-mesh boxes have a mechanism that synchronizes the speed of the gears before engaging them so the RPM differences doesn't cause damage or added wear on the shifting mechanism or the gears themselves. So if the gearbox were a Synchronous-mesh box, you wouldn't have this "gearbox locking because of different speeds" issue. They are complex, heavy and unnecessary for the flywheel weight of a motorcycle and a lot less smoother at full acceleration. Please don't believe what the Benelli guy told you. The "gear confusion" occurs on motorcycles because of the speed difference of the output and input shafts. It is compounded on the 1st and 2nd gears as they have the greatest variation in ratios in comparison to higher gears. If it were a synchro-mesh, the gearbox would do most of the job for you, as long as the gear shift was way to untimely.Must ride on!

Re: Benelli TNT 25 Ownership Experience
Hi Guys,
I just wanted to check whether any of you checked with DSK Benelli service personnel whether its ok to use Engine oil of different brand but of same grade and will it affect the warranty of our bikes ? I will also check with them in coming week.
And regarding the extended warranty i check with them to extend warranty by 1 year price is 1328/- approx and to extend by 2 years it is 2230/- approx and parts covered are same as covered in regular warranty which we get no change in that. And the extended warranty period starts after two years of original warranty ends or if bike cross 24000 Kms whichever is earlier. Thanks,
Anway Kale.

Re: Benelli TNT 25 Ownership Experience
Hello Riders,
I'm from Chennai and have been a silent member for some months now. I was looking for a quarter liter upgrade from Honda Unicorn after ridding it for over 7 years. After going through several forums and doing a bit of test rides, I finally brought Benelli TNT25 on 4th April. I have completed my first service and have ridden 1500+ kms so far including a trip to Kolar Gold Fields, Karnataka. The bike feels so easy and comfortable to ride both on highways and interior roads. The suspensions are working amazingly superb and thus creating less stress on the rider. on the flip-side, breaks could have been better. BTW, I haven't seen any great deal of improvement in breaks even after the first service, Its just I got used to it.
One issue which I'm still facing right from the time I took delivery is, I get some sort of noise from the chain section when I ride beyond 20kmph speeds. The noise is something similar to when you have a loose chain rubbing against some objects. If any of you have faced this issue, please share your experience/thoughts.
Other than resolving the above mentioned issue, the service center guys were extremely helpful and friendly. With regards to accessories, Chennai center does not have any accessories for our bike as of now. I have requested for a set of frame sliders ( costs 2200 rs) and still waiting to hear from them. If any of you have installed an after market frame slider, please share pics and links to buy them. I'm also looking for a mobile charger and mobile holder, which would be helpful during long rides, some one please help me here.
The paddock stand offered by Benelli is way too costly (4500 rs), so I have found a fellow rider in Chennai who is working on a custom paddock stand and I'll share further details as I get more. And I tried to do a 3M PPF on my bike but did not turn out well due to too many edges and curves on the tank, so I had to drop it. Any other cost effective alternatives?
Finally, how frequent should we lube our chains. Chennai Server center guys are using some unknown brand and were saying that the lubes will last for 2000Kms. I'm still not convinced and want to get your thoughts.
PS: I'm writing here for the first time and so please excuse me for not being structured.
Regards,
Ravi

How are you finding C1 and C2? Did you purchase online?Originally posted by GTDOM View PostJust got the Motul C1 and C2 chain cleaner and lube.
Was thinking of Tribocor but somehow Motul was my preference based on brand quality and trust.
Will use it soon and keep posted...

Yup, a full set (consists of 4 sliders) will cost 4500 rs + labour charges but what I understand from service center is a pair of sliders will do for TNT25. Thus the 2200 cost.

I have the same chain sound, however it will slightly decrease in time, mine is 2500+ km now, chain sound is almost gone now. I believe chain must be lube at least every 1000 km.

Re: Benelli TNT 25 Ownership Experience
That sound is common it will reduce over time but will not completly vanish as that sound is coming as chain comes in rubber patch which is there to portect chain from getting rubbed with the metal part below it near engine.Originally posted by Ravi S View PostHello Riders,
