Himalayan doesn't tell you the mileage.

1. Pics shown by RE has crash guards, I dont think this will be available as aftermarket but RE might sell in some days/month (no idea about that), refer below pic
2. I found an article talking about the aftermarket accessories

Next day after 1st service, I did a 320km ride with a pillion to Mandya (70km before Mysore)
While going there, there was a heavy traffic for 5-8kms, couldn't go above 2nd gear, which made me miss my Unicorn. It was not that hard so somehow I managed it.
In the plain road it Himalayan cruised really well and got enough power to race with 500cc REs. After a stressful handling in the traffic, engine started giving clattering sound. The sound stopped after a 10 mins of break, from then I started giving 10mins of break after every 75km to 100km.
On the way back there was huuuuuge traffic for around 15-20kms, I took the side mud road of the Tarmac where other vehicles struggle to ride but Himalayan just flew over the stones and broken muddy roads, which saved me an hour of time.
I think the 2nd service would be after 5000 or 10,000kms, can anybody confirm this?

Originally posted by prateek2210 View PostSo my friend's Himalayan went for first service on the 4th day after being bought, yes we completed 52kms in 3days.
The first service costed us 1262INR which included 830INR for oil and 109INR for oil filter.
I still cant understand how come the 15W50 Liquid Gun oil can sustain upto 5000kms (next service interval).
He got a normal seat cover for both the seats, I will be installing the leg guards on the his Himalayan this weekend.
Some issues we faced :
1) Its a tough job getting the neutral, and downshifting from 2 to 1
2) The oil marks were there in these 3days, hope now they will reduce.
3) The mileage it showed was 16/17 in city and 26/27 in highway 60kmph-80kmph riding, hope it gets little better after the service.
2) Gears are hard. Nothing to worry about it.
3) Its not the mileage that is shown in the speedo meter. Its Kmph. I don't know how it calculates that low speed!! Nobody knows for that matter. Not even RE engineers.

If you enter JC road from Minerva Circle you will reach Siddaih Road signal. Just after the signal (about 50m) on your right hand side you will find State Bank Of India. Next to it is a narrow road. Take right there and you will see a big Royal Enfield hoarding. That is Fixwell Motors.
