5000 kms done on this magnificent bike . The only issue I found worth mentioning was the battery.Whenever I go to places where temperature falls below freezing point the bike won't start after the night halt.I have to jump start it . Or if I don't ride it for a week it won't start. Anyone else having the same problem? Can anyone also suggest better battery for Himalayan BS4.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
The place where I live often sees temperature of minus two to single digits and haven't personally experienced such a behavior from the vehicle. The bike will crank even after non-usage of two weeks, and fires up perfectly fine. How old is your bike and how much has the bike clocked? Consider checking your battery life. Secondly, the battery rating is a 12V 8Ah which is pretty easy to source. You can stick to the replacement stock or you can measure the dimensions of your old battery and check it with your nearest Amaron or Exide battery shoppe, they should guide you.Originally posted by Darth View Post5000 kms done on this magnificent bike . Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

The folks at the SVC will check your motorcycle battery, charging system and then replace if necessary. Do talk to your showroom and get it replaced under warranty.Originally posted by Darth View Post5100 km ,6 months

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
None of the infamous vibes as such - if you keep her within 4800/5000rpm (approx. 100kmph in 5th) - only a mild buzz on the foot pegs, which you’d forget about if you’re using any kind of boots.Originally posted by #bpk View PostHi to all himalayan owners, how's the engine smoothness of bs4 himalayan in between 90 to 100 kmph ?
Thanks in advance .
Plus, I’m noticing that this buzz has decreased considerably as the bike clocks more km. Use of better engine oil would of course help too.- When Life throws you a curve, Lean into it! -

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
She's all the way happy in the 80 to 90 range with mild buzzing but nothing intrusive, and nowhere near what's vibrated on the pushrod counterparts. The engine by all means is smoother than the outgoing REs barring the 650s. Oh, and she stays happy in this range all day long.Originally posted by #bpk View PostHi to all himalayan owners, how's the engine smoothness of bs4 himalayan in between 90 to 100 kmph ?

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
hI folks.
Soon himmie will pass through the 5000 service .
I will ask the mechanic
- to fix anyway the cylinder head gasket in order to prevent any leaking . Half of the job is already made for the valve checking-
-to put a new fixing point to the exhaust , close to the bottom of the engine ! only 2 now : not enough for a single
- to fix some nuts with blue loctite : sprocket, handlebars maybe
and the engine is running smoother and esasier , with more rpm id needed , like à 500 XT after a 10 000 k
riding : 70
martial arts : 73
loving to tour around : always

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
Picked up a pre-owned REH BS4 White of July 2018 with 6300km on odo for 1.4L yesterday. Insurance is till 2019 only. No add-on on bike other than crash guard and a mobile stand between speedometer and windshield ( which I will remove )

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
Congratulations & that seems like decent pricing considering the very few km on the odo. Hope the battery is in good condition & you might want to consider a better brand of semi-synthetic/full synthetic oil past your upcoming 10k free service.Originally posted by Kunwar.g View PostPicked up a pre-owned REH BS4 White of July 2018 with 6300km on odo for 1.4L yesterday. Yea next oil will be Motul. Was very satisfied with it in my Classic 500 EFI 2011
Battery seems to be in a decent condition, only horn has some issue. Brake pads and tyre have good life left.
In just 6 months depreciation on bike has been 26%. Guess it's due to the bad impression it left if people mind with bs3 version. I was trying for 1.3L but couldn't negotiate as hard + less driven good condition bS4 white is not easy to find. I believe I didn't get a steal of a deal, but surely neither parties felt hugely at loss. Correct me if am wrong. A few months will confirm if I am gonna keep it for long or itch to move on to the INT650.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
Sorry about the delayed response but do share your email via PM. I’ll send across the BS4 service manual. It has the wiring diagram among other useful data worth noting.Originally posted by Kunwar.g View PostHas anyone got the wiring diagram for RE Himalayan BS4 ?
