Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
I took the bike in again before the new switch assembly came because it had become really inconvenient lately to start it. Turns out there was some miscommunication; the switch assembly on the bike was not a temporary replacement but in fact the old faulty one that they tried fixing with their tools. This time however I persuaded them to actually change the switch assembly(was a used switch assembly they had lying around) and the issue seems to have been resolved. The actual replacement will arrive this weekend. Hope it has been resolved for good!Originally posted by LazyShifter View PostSometimes it will just be a small issue but the showroom dummies can't figure it out.
If even after the switch change it fails then they will suggest to change the wiring kit.
Don't agree to all these nonsense. Demand for a replacement with another new Motorcycle don't compromise on these matters.

Personally I would choose Shell, as I have more trust on it. I've been using Shell on all my bikes through out the ages, and It's done wonders for me on longer run.Originally posted by vengymgen View PostWhich engine oil is better for RTR 200, Motul 7100 FS or Shell advance ultra FS?

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Hi All
Has anyone here managed to improve the braking experience on their bikes? My brake pads seem to going out and i am planning to replace them soon but wanted to improve the feel of the brakes along with it.
Are there any steel braided brake lines we can use on our bikes? I do remember that @ALI.R had changed his bikes to the steel braided lines from P220. But i saw a video from youtube that claimed that this doesn't work (apparently the cable is too short). Are there any other bikes in our market whose lines i can use (what about the RTR200 ABS model ..does that come with steel braided brake lines?).
If someone else has successfully managed to improve the brakes in any way please let me know.
In quest for better braking and modifying my motorcycle for better brakes I made a mistake! Still this video will serve it's purpose on being a guide on how ...
Thanks for the helpLast edited by Dovahkiin; 11-01-2019, 11:51 PM.

Pulsar 200f’s brake lines can be fitted in RTR200, If you are ready to skip the brake hose holding clamp under your head lamp assembly. There won’t be any problem for you if you skip that holder.Originally posted by Dovahkiin View PostHi All

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Hello everyone,
I have been riding my Apache RTR 200 4v (2017 BS3) for around 2 years 8 months. I have covered around 31000 km and i have gone through a lot of problems with my bike.
Two days ago i found out that my bike's G B Shaft (that's what the service center guy told me) is worn out, and has to be replaced. It costed me around 5K ₹. Is it possible for it to be a wear out issue for such a short time? I mean i have seen people ride bikes for years together and cover 50K+ kms.
I also had the cluch plates and hub replaced recently. Is this a manufacturing defect or is this my bad luck?
Thanks in advance.

This is the G B shaft i mentioned earlier. I do not believe this is a wear and tear issue. I think this is a manufacturing defect or poor quality of the part.
Thank you

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
I've seen this before on Apache rtr 180. Though this problem is rare and yours is the only 200 4v I've heard of that has it, this isn't so much manufacturing defect as total bad luck. Basically the part that fits there came off it's seating and because of the loose contact between the two parts it got shaved like that. In any case your bike is past warranty for sure so they're definitely not gonna entertain any of your claims but go ahead and try.Originally posted by badari259 View PostHi,

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
I do ride in heavy traffic daily. Worst traffic conditions, where the top speed some days i can go is 30kmph. Could it be because i have to constantly change gears between 1&2 or 3 in some rare cases? If so, a scooter would be more suitable for me.Originally posted by Balgi View PostI've seen this before on Apache rtr 180. Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Do you practice clutchless shifting? Nothing wrong if proper method is used. I've seen a couple of honda unicorns with premature gearbox issues due to improper and reckless clutchless shifting.Originally posted by badari259 View PostHello everyone,

Clutch less downshift totally damages the gearbox. I daily see a lot of guys riding with phone in the left hand, abusing the gearbox by not using the clutch. Clutch less upshifts are OK if performed above 5k rpm.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
I do the exact same thing and 1&2 are load gears so this can't be caused by that at all. Though it can happen if you lug your engine in say 3 or 4th gears at 2bd gear speeds. Like I said it's just really unlucky.Originally posted by badari259 View PostI do ride in heavy traffic daily. Worst traffic conditions, where the top speed some days i can go is 30kmph. Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Hello Guys.
I am facing a strange problem. Whenever i pull in 2 nd and 3rd gear from relatively low rpms it stutters. I guess something in engine is loose chain also stutters. It happens for a second or so but has got me worried. Also my chain slack is perfect sometimes but sometimes it's loose. Any help regarding that is appreciated. I have done 10k kms running on everything stock and motul 7100.
