Is this an issue with the air filter or engine oil? I have only completed 3500 kms so far with 2 services. Oil was changed only on the 1st service. The service guy said that the oil can be changed on the 3rd service since it can last until I do 4500 kms.

I don't see any indication for service on my console either.

What could be the issue? Can you pl point me in the right direction?
TVS Fully synthetic oil can hold upto 3500 kms. After that it loses its lubrication. I used to change it in every service.

Try changing the oil and check for clutch pull. Some times full clutch pull setting can shave off speed and pick up. Also accelerator play. We can’t twist the accelerator more than a level. If accelerator have extra play, it will reduce our chances to twist as much.

Thank you TarunSundar and imashish2789.

The oil level was low and dark - I replaced the oil. It looks like the svc didn't top-up oil in the 2nd service. More importantly, they didn't even bother to check.
I changed the oil, oil filter and even the air filter (it was dirty) since I ride in dusty conditions in Mumbai.

Now the bike is performing smoothly and as expected.

Which SVC in Mumbai did you go to?

I originally used to go to Innovative TVS in Bhandup.. But after 2nd service experience, I took my bike to Supreme TVS in Thane for the above mentioned changes. I'm evaluating these guys now.

Sounds good. You can check the air filter replace time by comparing the colour of the viscous paper. If the colour of viscous paper is near to the filter’s body plastic, then replace.

Anyway, we have to use all the free service chances for the first year. Then we do it ourself. Which will be more satisfying [emoji6]

Free Svc are pathetic in any brands asc. I had first paid svc yesterday and surprised to see the effort asc guys are putting into their work. Even wash quality was also good.

Replaced air filter, spark plugs, oil, disc caliper rear, disc pads both rear and front, ignition relay (because the engine stutters in slow speeds within 2-3k rpm in 1st or 2nd gear and the bike doesn't have the pickup; covered under warranty) and other consumables. They have done their job very good this time. Bike is smooth now and engine seems to be powerful this time. Clutch Plate replacement is pending which I'll be doing it in next month.

Thanks Tarun for your inputs regarding the self start issue. ASC guys resolved it this time. There was dirt in the switch which they have cleaned.

It’s great to hear that your RTR is now roaring. Yeah, as you said sometimes free services are pathetic. But not in all service stations. It varies with ASC. Unless like Honda services, whether you pay or free service they gonna do it in pathetic way.

Well brakes in front were not getting applied properly at which asc told to replace the front cylinder and.for the rear brakes were getting jammed and would lock due at which the asc replaced the rear cylinder at my cost.

This is the G B shaft i mentioned earlier. I do not believe this is a wear and tear issue. I think this is a manufacturing defect or poor quality of the part.

Thank you
I had the same issue quite sometime back @ 27000+ ODO reading (mine is oct 2016 make). I think it could be because of faulty front sprocket since I replaced the chain sprocket kit @ 24000+ and after that this wear out happened. Around that time TVS released upgraded front sprocket (with rubber lining) which i replaced along with the shaft. Costed me around 5K. I have crossed 51000 kms now and its running strong. I have not faced any other issues apart from usual consumables.

P.S. i had also posted this on xBHP, looks like there are only 2 bikes so far with this problem.

Does this qualify as a quality issue?
I am talking to tvs company regarding this. Since i have spent around 15K₹ as no one could diagnose the issue..

Owners of this immensely fun bike, please help me become one. I'm out in the market looking for a used RTR 200. Which model year should I opt for to strike a good balance between price and low mileage/good condition (which rules out 2019 bikes). I saw a few 2017 specimens with 10-12K km ODO reading in very good condition for ₹60-70K.

Go for any race version 2.0. it seems they have fixed a lot of issues which were there in the version 1.
