Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
===>>>>> 48+ Kmpl Mileage Technique <<<<<<<=====

Guys, I Search some mileage increase techniques on google, I read many articles and some Quora Answers of forgine Engineers. I saw some two answers saying if we drive our bike 75% of the rated RPM we will get maximum mileage out of our bike. They also give the explaination and example calculation for 10500 RPM bike. I followed that method and got mileage of about 48+ ( only city riding ). I'll explian that method for our rtr 200 Spec, so if you guys tested this method do let everybody know here.
Rated RPM for rtr 200 spec, 20.05 PS @ 8500 rpm, 18.1 NM @ 7000 rpm. So 75% of 8500 is 6375 for power and of 7000 is 6375 for torque.
Average RPM for both (5270+6375)/2 = 5812.5 (take 6000, round off), drive your bike at 6000 RPM will give you maximum effiecency.
#Rule
#drive betweent 4000 - 6000 RPM ( Constant speed increase dont Rush and trun Throttle Quickly)
#Use Right gear for the right speed (eg, 25kmph , most people sometimes will upshift to top gear and maintain RPM. they think that will burn less fuel But actauly the engine will be lugging . This can damage the engine in due course of time. don't change the gears often until required )Last edited by Akash Santhosh; 11-18-2016, 07:33 PM.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Hi people. How is the break on your Apache200. Breakes on my bike is bitting a lot less since the first service. The service guy told me that it is normal and would be allright, just run the bike for 40-50kms. I have complete 150kms after the service but still the breakes are lacking feel. What could be the reason. Please help. Moreover, there is alot more chain noise after the service.

SVC folk might have used carb cleaner/WD40 to clean the disc rotors causing it to lose on braking. You can take a strong detergent (vim/pril liquid) and wash the rotors thoroughly.Originally posted by RahulT View PostBreakes on my bike is bitting a lot less since the first service.
Ideally, take out the brake pads and lightly scrub them with sandpaper to get rid of the glaze too.
And next time onward, ensure that you tell them not to polish the rotors.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Update: My bike oil was less so topped it up with normal oil as of now.
Reason is the issue. I found out that there is oil leak near the gear shifter and side stand yesterday evening when i was checking the oil. i had seen it earlier also but i thought the oil must be of the chain oil as the chain is open and the lubricant which i use is thick so was a bit ignorant. Yesterday after a close look it looks like a engine oil leak. i dont no how come a new bike can have oil leak. that has surprised me. Have spoken to the SVC and told him about the issue. Now tommorrow morning first thing will give to bike to SVC for repair and find out the issue. Will update on the same by tommorrow.

Thanks for the info dude. Even I had noticed oil drips near my side stand all through the first few weeks of bike ownership. Its reduced now (almost not there).Originally posted by rakowli View PostUpdate: My bike oil was less so topped it up with normal oil as of now.

Even I have been thinking its gear oil that the SVC used for Chain lubrication. Now after reading your comment I am not too sure. I have noticed that the oil level in the bike is slightly below the mid of min and max level. Even the bike seems to have become more gruff these days. I guess I can try and source the oil they use just to top up so that I am on the safe side.
However, I will ask them to check for engine oil leak in my first service too.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Guys facing oil leaks should see if the drain bolt has proper O rings attached. And sprocket side oil seals may need inspection. Do not let them overfill oil even by 50 ml to minimize chances of leaks.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Got the bike today morning. Was ready yesterday only but I couldn't pick it up due to my other work. Also completed the 3rd servicing with it. Now coming to the problem I asked them about the oil leak and they said that the oil nut was not properly righted but I doubt as I had check the nut 2 days prior only. Other thing if you check the bill they have charged the labour for clutch overhaul which I asked them and they said that its just removed and refitted again. So I think the oil leak must be from the clutch cover from down. Oil seal must have been leaking maybe. But now the bike is back to normal no roughness and vibes. So that is most important for me.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Done with my first servicing.
And 250kms after that...😉
Bike is little bit smooth now. Took my bike to two highway ride with a cruising speed of around 60kmph, don't know it will good or bad for bike but I have to come out of 60kmph so have to reach 1500kms on odo ASAP.
Issue after first servicing:
Too much of chain noise and if a hold clutch then it's so loud that u can't really concentrate on riding. It feels like some plastic got stuck on back side of your bike and it's moving with bike speed.
Loose fitting below tank giving weird noise, got it tighten up later from ASC.
Oil leak or chain oil don't know but it got reduced now.
Other things which I want to ask, does anyone tried any accessories for headlight as it's very low for night riding.Once there was a man and a Bike....

use chain spray and lube the chain noise will reduce reasonably.Originally posted by Logan01 View PostDone with my first servicing.

For lighting, I have added additional led light bar mounted near the number plate. Have posted the same a few pages back... I don't use headlight dipper now as this light is more than enough for lower beam.
Don't use other switch and wiring. Try the use the switch already given on your bike for headlight. So that you are not tempering the wiring.
