I think it's an exception. People here love their bikes so they want to be extra careful about it. Plus I'm guessing there are a lot of them who have bought the RTR 200 as their first bike so unaware of the running in procedures.

If people are actually serious they would have done basic homework before buying the bike. And careful, the manual is not a bunch of paper, it is given and company printed it for a reason.

Google is the easiest way to look up at things. But this generation just want spoon feeding.

I am amused, most are not interested in the Gloss Black Variant. Most dealers in Hyderabad have white, matte black and matte gray. I have not spotted an RTR200 on the road, poor marketing to be blamed.

u seem to be a grumpy old grandpa ;-) chill bro, its a biking centric website, a little bit of trust might be the reason people prefer to ask here rather than on google...

if the oldies keep picking on the newbies, then the spirit of the community is lost...

have a beer, have fun, try not to let these small things irritate u too much

personally, i have not liked the design language of the new RTR 200, but the matte red RTR looks really good....

People are busy travelling than focusing on their own website

So asking newbies to do a little search and showing them mirror makes me "grumpy old grandpa", then yes I am.
Its been more than 8years I have been here and quite some years that I have focused on people doing some or even minute research before coming to forum and ask same questions which have been discussed to death. And run in query? Seriously, the simplest thing these kids can do is just to read the manual carefully before just coming for spoon feeding.

PS I prefer protein shake over beer any day, I have come out of the age of having beer at the drop of a hat.

Loving the attention this bike gets on road. One complaint though, this bike has some problem starting cold in morning- I, Either need to use the choke or give the bike a little manual push to get it started. Costed me 1.06 lacs onroad. Fit and finish is compromised on side panels i must say(may be this is the issue with my particular bike as I have heard this bike has a pretty good fit and finish on bike reviews.). Have done 460 Kms on this bike. No problems running. Reserve tank indicator has some issues.

Yes buddy, faced the same issue twice. I thought the issue is with my bike only.

                  Hi All,

I have completed my first service at 466 Kms. I have been constantly running the bike at 50-65 Km/h below 4.5K rpm. Now After the first service can I start riding the bike little faster or should I continue to do the same speeds and rpm. The manual said to keep the bike below 50Km/h but the bike gets to that speed at around 3.5K rpm and in my opinion low rpm also stresses the engine.

Should I wait till second service?
I guess you need to wait till first 1000kms for the speed limit as per manual.

Yes the bike will be stressed at low rpm, better go at 4.5-5 rpm as I am also doing the same 😀

Agreed, the manual really helps in learning. But tell me this, when you go to a new city do you not ask for directions from people? Yes, Google helps, but it's always reassuring when someone who has some experience in that particular field helps you or shows you the way. I don't think this attitude can be pinned to a particular generation.

So you go to a new place with no info about the place (still finding the connection with biking)

Reassurance can be found by using the search button on forum too.

Read and get rid of dilemma of break in. This thing has been asked on all ownership thread but I wonder why this thread attract hate towards new owners when they ask about run in (this has occurred many times in this particular thread) and rude way IMHO.

I am sharing this only because I have seen arguments occurring now and then on this thread .

Part of one para from post is below.

Don't over think the break-in process. At the end of the day, it is a matter of common sense. You ride your bike, and you are unique. Learn to ride your bike, but don't treat it like preparation material for an IIT JEE exam. Feel the engine, feel the gearbox and let your instincts guide, not the internet. Also, don't be so afraid. Numbers like "4.5k RPM

                        Cheers !

People are too lazy to use the search button. It has been said a million times that the chain sound is not an issue! The chain much thicker than the old Apaches. When metal makes contact with metal with a larger area of contact it is supposed to make that noise. Get it lubricated at time and you should be good to go.

It is irritating that people think adjustments are huge issues with their motorcycles. Every query starts with for example :

"Guys i am having a huge issue with my motorcycle and that is it stops when it comes to reserve and the fuel indicator shows 2 bars!".
Really is this even an issue?

I've been thinking on these exact lines for a while now. Xbhp is basically more of an e-manual now. Rarely do you see any new content being uploaded.

Have been using my friend's bike for 500 kms now. Just loving it. ODO 900 now. Touched 120 yestrerday. Feels stressed after 100 kmph. Will try again after it cross 1K. Only thing I am concerned is milege. Its only around 32-33 kmpl. My CBR does >35kmpl. . Bike will stay for 15 more days with me.

I went back a few pages and I noticed a few things: Same questions over and over again, same frustration over and over again and practically no one who owns the RTR200 minding the thread, with the exception of Prateek, who owns the RTR180. So the solution is simple: you guys who have owned the RTR200 should take a look at other ownership threads, especially in the nascent stages of the thread and learn from what they did to combat such issues because, let me assure you, every single new ownership thread has had issues like these. Difference was that there were some really helpful guys(seniors and newbies alike) who stepped in with a helpful document, a helpful link or contacted the mods to make a sticky, etc. Notice Prateek's signature? "RTR 180 FAQs" it says there. I can't begin to tell you how helpful that document was for me when I got my RTR180ABS and went on the RTR180 ownership thread looking for answers to every burning question I had. I don't see even one RTR200 owner with a signature, let alone a helpful blog linked in the signature. You can't really begin to complain this way if you won't do anything about it. I mean this as constructive criticism. It is not advice, neither is it a diss. Please don't get offended. This is not a personal attack. Just trying to make the forum a better place for us.

That bolded statement was harsh. I appreciate where you are coming from, I truly do, but people like you and me shouldn't have the hubris to say things like this when we haven't really contributed to adding "new content" to Xbhp. Heck, we aren't even part of the e-manual yet. We are just bystanders looking at Xbhp walking by, checking it out and commenting on it. Why don't we first add to the content, maybe get a blog entry approved, make this thread a better place for newbies, etc and then we can comment on not having new content. No?
