I have owned an RE for 3 years and have had to change my silencers every 6 months. Once the silencer came off while I was riding in city traffic, couldn't even think of picking it up, had to just push it on the side and rode without it.

RE looks neat for the first 6-8 months. It's nothing but a rust magnet.

Almost all bike have this shit...
And this is not after a year or so, you will get new bike with this...
Well if you've studied engineering, you would be knowing this by now. That part of the exhaust is always exposed to the elements. Moreover as heat increases the metal reacts faster with atmospheric oxygen and corrodes faster than the other parts. Like you said, I've seen it in almost all bikes. Presence of moisture and dirt accelerates the condition.

I can't agree with you. May be it was an experience of your own. RE has quality issues but nothing happens to it even after a year or so. Take care of it, it stays neat. I'm sure that a lot of people would disagree with you. It seems like some guys want to prove that TVS has good quality but I think they age pretty fast and it's evident from the likes of their bikes and scooters.

No, all everyone is saying that it is normal some irregularities happen. You get what you pay for. Check ducati 821 exhaust welds, so does that mean it lacks quality? Don't judge any bike by this minor glitches.

Let's see how it will fare. I want this bike to be good, but when you pay money from your pocket any minor glitches will be major concern for you.

LOL, thats what i thought when i first read that comment.

My only doubt is why there is three weld close together, could be something in that piece or may be not.

That is not true. I own a TVS fiero bike from 14 yr, still gives me a milage above 50 and has good power. Touch wood !!! No boring of engine done, no colour faded, no rust. But yes TVS sales and service sucks and not at all friendly to customers.

Hey guys, just wanted to ask this bout your beast:
Is it really that short geared?
On the highways being short geared wont benefit the bike, tall gearing plays there. Please confirm the respective speeds on each gear.

I would like to second that. Only rusting I found was the silencer on my Rtr 160. And that too because of heat the paint use to evaporate. Beyond that they are pretty much good except for the vibration and refinement. The only issue these days is the delay in deliveries of the Rtr 200. They are leaving it a tad too late for many customers.
