    2. Could you tell me the speed at which you guys shift up gears? I know you need to do this keeping in mind where the engine produces most power in rev band but what about during the run in period.

And I think the chain noise on my bike has increased considerably. Even with a Mt blade helmet on I can hear it quite well.
Use choke for one to two mins on a cold engine and during early morning and mid-night start up. It is recommended to use choke only during start ups. Do not to ride with the choke on, the engine would feel powerless and would bog down.

Speed and shifting pattern differs from person to person. I would suggest you to use the shift light as an indicator in case, you would like to improve your shifting methods.

    Cheers!

[QUOTE=roamer;1259402]First service done at 475 kms. Bike feels good now. I was facing some sound like a squeak.. at service they said everything had been lubed, but the sound continues. Anyone know what it can be. It comes while pushing the vehicle or riding out in first / second gear.

I'm having the exact same issue. I did mention it to the mechanic at the first service, he rubbed sand paper on the rear disc and did some configuration but I'm still facing the same issue and need to visit the SVC again.

At speed of 50 engine RPM hovers around 3.5k in 5th gear. At this rpm even the slightest bit of inclination on the road causes the engine to knock. To avoid this I am maintaining rpm between 3.5k and 4.5k which translates to speed of around 50 to 58 in 5th gear.

Thanks everyone. Too many responses to quote here. I will keep all the advice in mind.

Went to the showroom to get the tax receipt and got the chain lubed at the time though looking at the amount of streaks on the rim I am quite sure the lube they use at the workshop is not a good one (or is it gear oil?). Need to check if the chain noise is reduced now in quiet environment.

I have managed to get a hold of Motul chain lube and cleaner and plan to attack the chain if it bothers me before the first service.

Ok. I did ask him if it ABS and he said yes. Not sure,if it is some test vehicle, he was lost and was looking for direction.

Hello friends, I have a serious doubt about buying Apache Rtr 200 with Pirelli tyre.
I have option to buy it either from TVS showroom or local dealers.
I reside in Mira Road, Thane.
Here Matrix TVS showroom are offering me Red Matte RTR 200 with Pirelli option at 115000/- with 2 months of waiting period while small local dealer is offering same bike within 2 days at cost of 109000/- with all the accessories that showroom were offering.
What would be the reason of this difference?
Also local dealer said that I can choose which ever bike I want from godown at Bhiwandi and get the bike by myself if I don't want Delivery boy to ride my bike.

I believe the local dealer offers less because his business costs less to run in a small town. If I were you I would choose the small dealer. The city dealer would have lots of bookings, he couldn't possibly cater to the demands of each individual customer.

I am taking delivery of my new apache on 30th,
But today I saw my bike in showroom, the odo reading was 23kms.
So is there will be any problem with the bike in future (about run in period)?
The bike manufactured in Sep 29th.

Why would there be any problem with the running in period? The service personnel usually test drive the vehicles as a part of PDI and I think there is nothing to worry. I think that's quite normal and most people would agree to that. You can ask them, why is the odometer showing 23 km just for the sake of your mind. Even if it is not for testing these guys at the showroom takes the new vehicles for a spin. If you tell them strictly not to touch ur bike, they would tamper with the odometer.

Any leads on the whistle sound? On close inspection the sound is coming from the rear wheel. Went to the service centre. Mech told that it's brake sound, but as they were almost closing will take it tomorrow again

Bro how is the weight distribution on the bike? Is it like too much heavy in the front end like its rival 200 ns or is it towards the middle having a fair 50:50? Just tell me an approximate Percent of the weight distribution.

Here, even the Pirelli tyre option is rarely available!Their priorities seem messed up.
I'm living in trivandrum and asked the showroom guys. Back then they didn't have a clue about FI,ABS but now they're saying it would take 6 more months to come out. Time to stop hoping and get a carb+tvs tyres. 😐😐

Thank you for your instant reply,
I asked to the showroom guy about the odo running, he said we rode the bike from our main godown which is almost 7-8 km away.
I am worried because ,I don't know how they ride our bike, saying about speed limit, rpm limit etc for the new bike.

Usually these service personnel don't care about speed or rpm limit. When I took delivery of my bike, top speed recorded was 87kmph, which means they definitely revved my bike post 6k rpm. Don't worry, just make sure to ride your bike between 3k to 4.5k rpm before 1st service.
