  • Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V

Took delivery of my bike yesterday from speed wheels Thane. The rider seat lock mechanism is not working. Also the clip on handle bars are not aligned properly. First day itself I had to go to the service station the staff tried to lock the seat but with no success. I have been asked to keep my bike there for some time. What should I do and what precautions should I take so that the ass guys don't take me for a ride?

      Didn't you do any PDI?

As of now, you can ask for a new bike since this is practically a new bike. Don't ride it with the badly set handlebars.
Else, you'll have to opt for replacements under warranty.
      Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Asking for a new bike is out of question as it's already registered in my name. As of now what I need to know is while giving my bike again to ASS should I ask them to issue me a job card or just get the seat and handle bar rectified directly.
Regarding PDI, this was a impulsive purchase and I hope my not doing the PDI does not come back to bite me in the ass.

PDI is important part in purchasing a vehicle. If you have rectified this issue while doing PDI you haven't taken this bike and you could have asked showroom people to replace the bike. Atleast you could have noticed handlebars which were not aligned.

Now take everything in writing from service centre and do not pay anything, if required share this matter with TVS.

The pillion seat is a pain to put back once out. The delivery person showed me the weirdest way to attach it, like just give it a tight whack! I was surprised with that but they said that's the only way it works.

It's the rider seat not the pillion seat which is not attached.

Always insist on a job card for anything you get done at the ASC.
I hope you haven't been handed a test ride/display vehicle.

My woes with my new bike continue. Already there were two issues with my bike 1. Rider seat 2. Handle alignment. Now since yesterday night upper headlight is not working. Yesterday evening had a chat with my sales representative told her I am busy till Monday and would be coming on Monday. She has assured me that chief engineer at the ASS would be waiting for me. Do I need to keep TVS in the loop ?

I have seen that during the showroom pdi, they Always disconnect that right DRL. Get it connected properly . About your handle, how exactly? Any pics? And seat too?

Got to know from a few news reports that trucks are plying between TN and KA again. Hopefully this will resolve any existing impediments for dealerships to stock RTR200 in Bangalore.

Has anyone here got a call from their dealer recently for bike delivery. If so kindly let me know the dealer details.

I will be going to check out the Gixxer SF this weekend. Also managed to get a colleague to let me check out his Gixxer SF later so that I can make up my mind. Hope to have a bike before October mid at least.

Decided to go for the carb version (lost patience), Going for a final test drive tomorrow and booking matte grey. Wait period 15-20 days for any color at Sabharwal TVS in West Delhi. On road price 1,02,000 (RTO, 0 dep insurance, extended warranty, studds helmet). Any particular checks i should be performing apart from the PDI article (thats too much). Any useful feedback is appreciated?

If anyone from Delhi who already has one can confirm pricing and break up.

Digital fuel gauge has mind of its own nowadays. When there are 2 bars my bike goes on reverse with the meter showing normal reading. After about good 30kms the reverse reading starts. Before it was proper, this has started about last 2 fillings. I am going for my 2nd servicing tommorrow. Will tell them to check the same and also the main problem to check is the gear shifter.
