i actually waited for my bike to complete 250kms then i started a true run in period,
in this i took my bike upto 100kmph (it was a touch down)coz after the 1st service oil will be changed at 3rd service & i dont want the impurities of engine particles to be remained in my engine until the 3rd services coz the 3rd service is at 3000km -so upto that kms lots of impurities might can damage my engine coz no one can wait up to 3000kms to ride at high speeds,
so that's why i am doing a short touch down,so when my oil gets changed at 1st service maximum impurities should get taken out of my engine
& my engine can become more friction free,
but the touch down i am doing is once in a day .
waiting for your reply frnds.
what are your view points on this?
well this is embarrassing as no one is replying on this.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
There is absolutely no need of this. you should not cross 4k rpm before ur 1st servicing.. and who told you that ur engine oil will only get changed in 3rd servicing ... The svc ppl will change it in 1st servicing ... Plz read the the manual mate!!Originally posted by Tirth shukla View Postwell this is embarrassing as no one is replying on this.Last edited by tanishq; 09-19-2016, 06:46 PM.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Between the AS200 nd 200v, I would suggest you to go for the 200V,as it is a much better and upto date product.Btw the first gen AS were all last batch NS's . The AS never was a fresh product.Originally posted by Arshad Shaikh View PostI am making this statement because I am in the process of short listing a bike between apache 200 and as200.
And have been following both threads from start.
In AS200 thread, problems have been reported from 4-5 page itself
PS: Don't consider me as a Bajaj or pulsar fanboy. I just said that the issues are yet to be reports because the bike is fresh and only a small number of bikes have hit the road. Even in my earlier post i have said that the Apache fit and finish looks better than the AS/NS

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
dont worry, the main contaminants (metal filings) will be removed when the 1st servicing oil change is done. the life of these oils is as high as 3000-4000 km, so it doesnt matter if u dont change it in the 2nd servicing. just ensure they change the filter... they should, but just for your mental satisfaction, make a small mark on the old filter, or the filter casing, which will tell u whether they have opened/replaced it or not...Originally posted by Tirth shukla View Postwell this is embarrassing as no one is replying on this.
regarding running in, i would recommend you to follow the procedure written in the manual. they know what they are writing. sudden changes in loads are highly detrimental to your engine. dont do it. your half knowledge can actually spoil your bike...

Slipping the clutch :
Hey guys could you please share your thoughts on slipping the clutch. Today evening I covered 4km in 40 minutes in BLR and most of the time I was in 1 and 2nd slipping the clutch to move forward and control the bike (traffic was nasty today [emoji25] ).
I know we need to slip the clutch to move forward or have to use in traffic but I am concerned for this longer time. I mean slipping the clutch for almost 30 minutes in one ride ,how does it affect the clutch assembly life?
What about coasting in traffic? Say revved hard and pulled the clutch to keep moving forward .
Is it fine and how much is fine .
Today traffic got me thinking about all these.
main query- how much is fine and how to reduce it if harmful for bike.
Thanks .Do Rev your heart in out or on treadmill After revving you bike's engine.A free flowing and high revving heart will give more happy miles too :)

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
try to ensure you change gears with engine matching, as in, whenever you change gear, there shouldnt be any jerk... if ur a new rider, then it will come with practice.Originally posted by CosmicSpeed View PostSlipping the clutch :

regarding stop and go traffic, there is nothing u can do, but a ray of hope is that at such low speeds, the clutch doesnt get too damaged. from your side, u should have as less rpm on engine when starting from 0... this again will come with practice.
what u said about coasting is fine, as long as u can match the engine speed and tyre speed when releasing the clutch again, otherwise it will wear out your clutch comparatively sooner...
under rough riding, i had to replace my clutch plate at 30k. good riders can extract as much as 60k...

yes I am new rider that's why more concerned [emoji4].
I ensure engine rpm is not high when coasting or releasing the clutch after coasting or starting from zero.
I hope at low speed ,slipping the clutch should be fine as you said.
You gave little peace to me , need more [emoji6]. May be I will find out when I mature in biking .

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Just been to the service center. That guy is saying, minimum 1 or 2 years for the ABS variant to come. Coz he said it'll eat into the sales of the normal bikes.
This December Fi variant is coming that's all.
Hmmm he sounded 100% sure.
Need to wait till December and see.
