Does your fuel gauge problem also got resolved?
Do engine oil need to get changed in every servicing or after 3000kms only?

You have completed your second servicing and I am still waiting for my bike to come. Don't play with me RTR, please come to me daddy is tired of waiting....😞😞
Yes the gear problem is solved. Regarding fuel gauge its my mistake, as i was thinking that once the fuel indicator comes means there is still 2.5 liters of petrol in the tank and thats when the reserve starts. but its not like that when i comes to last point means 2.5 litres of petrol is there and the reverse will start and when the low fuel indicator blinks its 1.8 litres and once its always on means the last 1.1 litres of petrol is there in the tank. So the fuel gauge is proper my reading was wrong in that case.

2nd servicing there is no need for engine oil change as per the manuals. As engine oil is synthetic it can be changed at 4000+ kms but as my bike engine oil was less i preferred to change it completely.

but surely this bike is worth waiting. Yes but too much will definately frustrate everybody. TVS is killing this bike by itself. I think they are in self-destruction mode.

You pay for the above quote.
Cant expect all bikes to perform equally with same price tag.

Got my first service done yesterday (picture attached). I was pretty unhappy about booking an appointment and still not getting a slot and facing drama but I'm going to chuck all of that and tell you guys about the issues.

I stayed there during the 3 hours I was made to wait because I wanted to see exactly what happens to the bike(a practice every Enfield owner develops).

They changed the oil, the oil filter and added some additives to the fuel tank. I had complained about my bike's rear brake making a sound while moving and the front fork making a sound while braking hard or entering a pot hole.

The rear brake was adjusted, sand paper was rubbed on the brake and the problem was rectified. The fork issue was extra play in the cone set and it had to be fine tuned. That took them 45 mins, and 4 rounds of tuning and test rides but they got that sorted.

It was all amazing till now, here's when the issue started. They were supposed to spray chain lube. So one guy put the bike on the stand, put the bike in the gear and started accelerating. He was accelerating a bit hard for my liking. Once that was done, he kept on going and I kid you not, revving upto 9k on the RPM count and before I could tell him anything, he touched 136kmph on the speedo.

I was furious with this behavior but I just didn't know how to react. I complained to the manager and asked him the reason for accelerating so much without a reason. He got mad at the mechanic and that was it. It was done.

There is nothing wrong with the bike when I rode back for about 20 kms. I hope there isn't anything wrong because till 500 kms I wasn't crossing 50kmph.

Sorry for posting here, bacause of Apache RTR thread is not so acive.
Today I visited 2 TVS Showrooms for TD and quotation of Apache 160 in Pune.
I am attaching quotations of the bikes which is given to me.
Sadly one of the showroom ( Kalamkar TVS located in Balewadi Phata Baner) didn't give me TD.
Other showroom ( Century TVS Wakadewadi Shivajinagar) gave me TD, I liked the bike but speedometer was off so I didn't judge at what speed I am riding bike.
          I love the bike overall.
I take TD of Gixxer also which is located opposite to Century TVS.
Pickup of Gixxer was just Awesom.I drive the bike upto 82kmph just within seconds. The TD bike was in so bad condition, the bike felt same as FZ 16 (one of friend have it).
But price of Gixxer is looking so High compared to Apache.
I will get rear disk Apache 160+ Choice No. + 2 months of petrol in the cost of Gixxer.

Can I bargan more with the price of the bikes ? If yes , then how much?

Guys so much confusion in both bikes,
I am favoured in Apache more, so please need your Advice.
          Thanks.
First of all you are not in the market to buy vegetables that you can bargain. What ever quote has been given to you, plus minus 500rs, thats the best they would give you. Place where you can negotiate is insurance part, if you get better figure with some other company, also the RTO handling charges if you decide to do all the paperwork youself, but as one know "Time is Money".

Now coming to bike, you have all the access to Ownership threads which have detailed user experiences of both the bikes.
If you would ask about a particular bike in its own ownership thread, do you think you will get apt answers.

Its your money, your wish....take test rides, decide which suits YOU better.

It was same with my bike when I had taken delivery. The idling needs to be adjusted. You can do it yourself. Just find the screw on right side of the bike connected to carburetor. Keep the engine running in neutral and adjust the screw by checking the RPM. It should be done with warm engine, not when the engine is cold.

A lot of folks are reporting gear shifting issues and false neutral problems on one of the Facebook groups. Just wanted to understand if this is a common problem or specific to some people? Can this be rectified easily by the service center? I am expecting delivery of my bike around 25th of this month.

Though I am not facing gear shift issue, yes false neutrals are there.. And expected to get resolved post first/ second service.

I'm facing this problem but it's not a deal breaker for me. Its like when you hop on a bike for the first time, you take a while to understand the gearing. As the days are passing, the problem isn't that much. Once in a while, yes!

The gear indicator has a mind of it's own sometimes. But that's only for a second and then it shows the correct reading.

Even I was facing the same issue .... Took my bike to TVS Service Center where they fixed it, now my bike idles at 1600 rpm but I am facing cold start issues! Bike doesn't start in morning until I use choke! Are you also facing this issue ???

As a good practise choke should be used for each and every cold start. Don't think of it as a problem, think of it as proper way of starting the bike.

Coming to what you asked. Sometimes when I forget to use choke, my bike starts normally but I have made it a practise to use choke for cold starts.

Isn't 1600 a little high? I mean most bikes have idling tuned between 1200-1400 RPM.
                            Winter is coming!

Yep, my bike too settle down on 1200 after start using choke, And 1600-1800 when hot.
