One thing I noticed in red is if you are not careful a deep scratch can actually make the black colour plastic visible underneath I noticed it in one of the Bike they had for Display, also the fit and finish on the fiber on both sides of the plastic strip above the petrol tank is not perfect all the time, some bike has more gap then other.

Me too.No insider info on the ABS version is also a bummer. May be TVS is busy on G310R and its sibling.Originally posted by Harideep View PostEvery time this thread is bumped I want to see news of ABS launch.
I am amused, most are not interested in the Gloss Black Variant. Most dealers in Hyderabad have white, matte black and matte gray. I have not spotted an RTR200 on the road, poor marketing to be blamed.

Little Off-Topic: Hello Bangalore RTR200 owners, Are 200 spares reached TVS Service centers now? I have checked in Domlur ASC but no spares are there for 200 yet.
I am looking for 200's Clip on handle bar. Please ask in Service Centers while you guys going for Service. Thanks in Advance.2012 HONDA CBR 250 R C-ABS

Till now no spares and accessories for RTR as per Tristar TVS(domlur).Originally posted by satheez_7 View PostI have checked in Domlur ASC but no spares are there for 200 yet.
I need seat cover for my bike as it look delicate and I want to protect and no news on it.
I would suggest to check other ASCs. Domlur one is worst I guess, I waited 3 months after booking RED RTR and ended up with white, they did not have any info. Next week of purchase white one, I saw red RTR on road purchased from other showroom

Thank you for moving it in right thread.Originally posted by The Monk View PostThese are ownership queries so i have merged it back here.
If you are comparing a bike with a rear disc, with one that doesn't, then the former will seem more resistant to movement than the latter.
Now that you mention it, i do remember the clutch having this odd behavior. Maybe a characteristic feature of this bike, try getting the clutch adjusted at your first service.
I have given my bike for 1st service today, will compare again the rear wheel
.
The clutch one is new to many, faced hard time explaining Service center guy
. I just want be sure that its not damaging the engine
One question again:-is it bad that bike does not start without choke in morning? I heard my friends saying that few years old bikes start without choke even in winter season, why not new bike.
Thanks,Do Rev your heart in out or on treadmill After revving you bike's engine.A free flowing and high revving heart will give more happy miles too :)

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Hey guys.
My friends bike has done 1.2k on odo. And for there past 200kms the bike is behaving little strange.
1. Whistling noise from engine while doing 40-60 kmph on 4 or 5 th gear. During first service the valve clearance had been checked and adjusted by ASC but still the problem exists.
2. After that we feel roughness in idle and top end (slow pickup and little jerkiness)
3. Yesterday there was white smoke coming out of exhaust and strong traces of oil in silencer exit mouth.
Does anyone else faced similar problem ? And any idea about whistling noise ?
When contacted ASC they said there's is nothing to worry about it and asked us to ride as usual !?Its always better to sweat than to bleed. Wear helmet.
Ride Hard .. Ride Safe. And Ride Responsibly.

More of a whine i suppose.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostWhite smoke? That means that oil is entering the combustion chamber. Please get it checked immediately. Complain to the company.
2. Do you fill petrol from a reputed petrol pump?
3. Was the smoke coming out early in the morning? Please check your oil level along with the petrol you have filled. Some times diesel mix (most of the pumps have) causes this.
4. Check your carburetor settings. It's either running very rich.
Hope it helps.
A More appropriate answer :
Smoke or vapor coming out the tail pipe is caused by three things. First, normal condensation, especially when it's cold. This is normally white, and dissipates quickly, and is steam, not smoke. Then, oil smoke, which is bluish, which can happen when you first start the bike because leaking valve seals allow oil to seep into the cylinder and burn off on startup, and also for a few minutes oil may get past the rings before the engine heats up and the clearance between the pistons and the cylinder walls closes up. Third, poorly-burned fuel or an overly-rich air-fuel mixture. This is normally black or brown. Neither oil smoke or poorly-burned fuel smoke dissipates, they hang in the air. A thick combination of white, blue, and possibly brown is an indication of a blown head gasket or a cracked block or head, and is a combination of water, oil, antifreeze, and normal exhaust that are dumping out the tail pipe. This would cause a noticable loss of coolant or oil. personally, I wouldn't worry about it if you are seeing no loss of coolant or oil.Last edited by JS16; 07-13-2016, 06:47 AM.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Guys, I have been waiting since a long time for RTR 200. This is going to be my first bike and so I obviously would like it to be perfect (atleast on the engine front). Please guide me through. Should I wait further for this bike or start taking a serious look at Pulsar AS200. There is a delta difference in the price between these two. I really would love to not have to take it to the service centre for the kind of issues mentioned above, atleast for the first 2.5-3 years. I own a 4-wheeler and looking to buy the bike primarily because I want to own one. I am not looking towards selling the bike before atleast 4-5 years from now. Its a long term thing for me.Originally posted by JS16 View Post1. That whistling noise is normal on the 200. More of a whine i suppose.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Generally speaking TVS is better when long term ownership is concerned. But the thing with RTR 200 is its a brand new bike and we can expect few issues. So if you are going for apache, better to wait for few more months if possible.Originally posted by anurag2028 View PostGuys, I have been waiting since a long time for RTR 200. Or you can look into yamaha Fz/gixxer 150 if 150CC is ok .
