Do you have any idea if they are launching the base variant in matte red??!! because i read somewhere that they are not going to launch each of the seven colors for all the variants.

You can refer to the following link: 6-8 variants of TVS Apache RTR 200 to be launched by April

Any idea about the matte red base variant (carb+remora)? Are they launching the base variant in matte red??
Only glossy white, matte grey/ black available right now. That's also almost sold out everywhere. Dealers are saying that there will be new batch coming up by July.. But has no clue of which colours. Even I am sceptical about all colours launching in base version.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V

      Hey guys.
      An update.
I have covered 370 kms so far.
As per the manual, the fuel tank capacity is 12 liters including reserve.
      Reserve capacity is 2.5 liters.
I traveled for 352 kms from full tank to reserve.
So the approximate fuel efficiency is 37 kmpl.
And I've ridden the bike entirely in the city.

      Few things I've observed:
      1. IMO this bike has a very good feature when it comes to pass light. Unlike other bikes and cars, in this bike, pass light works when you are either in high beam or low beam.
I.e if the headlights are ON and you are in low beam and press the pass light, then low beam will switch off and high beam will switch on as long as you hold the pass light key.
Similarly the other way too. Which is very good when you are on highways at night.

      2. Headlights will switch off as soon as you kill the engine using the engine kill switch.

      3. If your engine is off and if the headlight is ON, the headlight will be ON in half brightness and then after few seconds headlights will switch off.

4.When headlights are ON before turning on the engine, it'll switch off the headlights and then switch on the engine followed by headlight. This is done to avoid overloading the battery or to avoid damage to the fuse.

      5. You can not change the digital console modes when you are riding.

      6. I made a trip meter zero as soon as my bike came to reserve. (Turned the fuel knob to reserve) However the low fuel indicator started blinking after 10kms into reserve. And TripF started after 11kms into reserve.

      Small niggles that I found:

      1. The chain touches the swingarm. This started after 250 kms.

      2. There's an annoying gap between the rider seat and the place that the seat should sit at.

I'll share pictures and videos soon.

Regarding the clutch and brake, clutch is light enough for my liking. Brakes, as said earlier, the front lacks the bite, rear brake is very good. However, as another user mentioned here, I'll have to wait till I complete 1000kms to check how much the front bite has increased.

The TVS tires are far better than the MRF I had on my Honda Dazzler. Including the wet grip.

If you have questions please post, I'll reply whenever i can.

Posting a video link from YouTube. It shows a matte red rtr 200. I just hope that tvs releases the abs version without further delay.

Best colour in my opinion. Look much premium than other shades.

The metallic white looks good too, the black and white shade gives it a big and muscular stance and I think the white stands out the most on the road, be it day or night

So guys for those of you who own the carburetted version, is the fuel tank capacity 12 liter + 2.5 liters for reserve, or is the 2.5 liter included in the 12 liter tank, which makes the effective non-reserved fuel 10.5 liters.

Rightly said !! Even I feel the same way. Do you have any info on the availability of matte red? Here in Hyderabad the showroom folks are speculating a timeline of 3-4 months..

In Mysore showroom they say October . But from some source in Mysore Production plant I got info that they may lunch in August. I think showroom guys tell 3-4 months to push this basic variant who cant wait.

P.S I am torn between the RTR200 and the RS200
