Quality of TVS bikes is very poor. Like some of them mentioned above about the silencer welding. Even look at the 1 years or few months old TVS RTR bikes on street. They look like shit! I felt that in general their two wheelers lack that quality. Jupiter scooters for example, they are pretty quickly.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
You are wrong about rtr200. The quality is pretty good for a 1 lac rs bike. I am a first time tvs owner as well and was very skeptical about quality and reliability. All bikes rust a little or burnt exhaust with time. This one is no exception. There could be minor finishing issues if you will nit pick.

Thanks bro..Originally posted by manuj303 View PostRide upto 60kmph below 5k rpm during the break in period. No vibs felt. Yes gearing is about the same as you mentioned. Need to switch to gear2 post 10kmph and gear 3 post 28kmph. Bike stopping in gear is false neutral and a common problem not sure will get resolved or not. Other that you will notice chain noise on gear 2. Not so smooth shift from gear1 to neutral to gear2 and vica versa. Gear shifts are pretty smooth gear 3 onwards. Lastly engine heat during high traffic which is normal. The biggest issue is cold start problem with this bike atleast for me. Once the bike is warm it is one push start. Hope this helps.
Bike really feel choked upto gear 3. Is it common problem of break in period or i am thinking too much?
Engine heating is not so much, it was just my first day suspicious mind game.
My bike started in 2nd try in cold start. But manual says always start with choke when engine is cold.Last edited by Logan01; 10-31-2016, 02:27 AM.Once there was a man and a Bike....

Oh that's looks terrible! [emoji33] That's definitely poor quality. It's due to negligence and sheer lack of consideration for the customers. This is why I hate TVS or anyone underestimate their customers.Originally posted by Logan01 View PostI do agree with you that the quality is good for 1 lac rs.

Apache is a short geared machine. so you need to shift the gear quickly. the jerk is due to false neutral and in most cases it will go once the bike is settled in.Originally posted by Logan01 View PostDrove my beast for about 40kms today..😀😀
Things I noticed during my ride.
Bike started crying for gear change at around 10kmph for 2nd gear, 20kmph for 3rd gear and 30kmph for 4th gear.
Noticed some vibration on foot peg and lower area of engine.
Does this is common in run in period?
Second thing, what actually matter in run in period, is it RPM or kmph?
Bcz i was able to cross 50kmph below 4k rpm only on 5th gear.
One more weird thing I noticed, I was trying to start bike in neutral and it gave me jerk as if it in first gear. Don't know what was that but noticed two time continuously after that gone.

I think that I need not to worry then except for few cosmetic things.Last edited by Logan01; 10-31-2016, 03:55 PM.Once there was a man and a Bike....

Why to look for high end bikes? Take a look at RE exhausts, they are very neat. This looks like a piece of junk from used item seller.Originally posted by dineshaugustin View PostTake a look at the 1000CC exotic bikes and then you can comment on this. its the same for all bikes and cars.

RE exhausts are different. They're chromed. Just cut an RE exhaust, weld it back and don't chrome it. It'll be the same as what you're seeing.Originally posted by peacelover73 View PostWhy to look for high end bikes? Take a look at RE exhausts, they are very neat. Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V
Dude,I own a CBR250R. The silencer and the clipons rusted so badly, that I had to touch up paint within 1 year. Those are minor things, which mostly happen due to bad finishing at weldings.Originally posted by Logan01 View PostI do agree with you that the quality is good for 1 lac rs.

BTW, took a TD of RTR 200 for 30 kms. Amazing bike that is. Honestly, couldnot find a performance difference between the 180 & 200, but it is Damn smooth, to cruise at >100 kmph all day long, where the 180 used to vibrate. My friend upgraded from this 180 to 200.

Yes, even RTR 180 has true top speed about 126 kmph. 200's Must be around 130 kph only. RTR is never about top speed. Its about, how quick you reach those speeds.Originally posted by Ravii View Post125+ kph my hornet can also go...HH Dawn - TVS Star City - Yamaha Gladiator - TVS RTR 180 - Honda CBR 250R - Yamaha R3
