Hello everyone. It feels great to be back in the Group. I was an SR150 user for close to 1 year . Thoroughly enjoyed it during that period but met with a near Fatal Accident and I took almost 7 months to come back to near normalcy. Sold that vehicle off as I didn't feel good riding it again after my incident . Was only using my Bajaj Dominar 400 as my daily driver. Tried looking at different options in Scooters in these couple of months and Finally couldn't resist and took the plunge for the new Aprilia SR160 Carbon Edition 2 days back. What an upgrade. 👌 So much refinement, lot of improvement in Braking due to the inclusion of ABS and better Tyres. Meter console too is far better than the previous Generation. Front Headlight design change too has led an improvement in lighting. My only gripe is the cost. My previous Aprilia which I purchased was for 85,000/ and the current one for 1,33,000/... Too much of a difference. I know that now there are some changes due to increase in pricing due to the transition from BS4 to BS6 and also because of the new mandatory 5 year policy, but still I feel the price isn't justified. But if I keep aside the price there's nothing like this Scooter. Pure bliss..

Thank you for your valuable suggestions! Now It's having another weird problem. Like when I'm starting the scooter in the morning it's makes a grinding or whining sound then disappears when the it heats up but you can still hear the sound when you listen closely near the cvt cover. Any idea on what it might be? Again really appreciate you taking your time to reply 😊Originally posted by Sebian2009In Taiwan,we have Vespa GTS250,LX3V 150, Aprilia 500 & SRV850 ,for these scooters if they have problem of LAGGING in acceleration then their problem is slippage of clutch is too serious. And our solutions suggested will be replacing the round roller by sliding roller, or replacing the stock clutch by HiT clutch.
But we don't have Aprilia SR150,so the solution is FYI only.

Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Could be the v-belt but it's a new scooter just 2500 kms and almost 1 year. I highly suspect that it is a bearing noise or variator noise because the noise is also coming from near the gearbox. But I will change the v-belt and get everything check. Thanks for your valuable suggestion.Originally posted by Sebian2009Normally,a grinding sound will happened when the V-belt is not grabbed tight enough by the moveable variator (pulley half ) and fan, such as
old V-belt becomes a little longer, weight roller is too light. In your case, the sound is only at starting and will disappear when it heat up.
If the sound is due to the V-belt slippage at starting, our experience and suggestion will be as belowed,
1),used V-belt becomes a little loosen for the grabbing force (of variator ) created at the starting rev and the belt is slippery or vibration.
2),when heat up, the V-belt becomes grabbed more tight, (belt becomes shorter ? )
3),you can use a heavier roller (providing higher grab force ) to see if the sound will be disappear ,or
4),change to a new V-belt if yours is worn or not good enough.
As you said " you can still hear the sound when you listen closely near the cvt cover ", it's normal, what do you think ?
Hope this can have any help.
