  • Re: Aprilia SR 150 Owners Reviews and Experiences

Hello everyone, am thinking of buying a used SR150 which is a year old and has clocked 8000kms at around 50k Rs
The bike had a fall on right which could be noticed via scratched body parts.
Can someone tell me what would be the price of fiber body parts with stickers
Also is the price good for this condition?
Service history is not available btw.

earlier versions were known for some irritating problems which cant be rectified. so be aware .
check engine oil condition, if its way too black stay away from the bike . to check 8k km truth , check the tyres . it should be on factory fitted tyres

Hi friends, my Aprilia is 2 years old now and out of factory warranty. However, I had opted for an extended warranty a year back.

My service adviser says that I'll have to continue servicing in 3-4 months interval to maintain the extended warranty. The trouble is, my running is really low (less than 8k kms in two years) and hence quarterly service seems unnecessary as offlately my running is less than 500kms per quarter. Any clue on the requirement to continue servicing to avail the benefit of extended warranty?

PS: I still haven't gotten my extended warranty card from SVC for the payment which was done over a year ago. Anyone here who has the extended warranty car can you please check the T&C for extended warranty

Experts here I have a question.

I've some 900 ml left over from my 4 liter can of Motul Xcess 5w40 (Full Syn) that was bought for my Fiat diesel engine.

Can i use it in my Aprilia SR 150 (700 ml)?

Is it recommended to use a Car oil in Scooter like SR 150? Pl help.

sure you can, and since it doesn't have a wet clutch you don't have to worry about clutch slippage either.

Thanks man. Filled Motul. Now engine is so smooth and of less vibration. Motul is no wonder a magic oil.

Guys anyone here who has the new SR150? I have a few queries.

I'm wondering if the new screen (information display dash) can be installed in the older model? How about the new adjustable rear shock?

Also, I can see a windscreen on the new SR in the launch photos, anyone has it installed? If so, how much is it?

                    Cheers!

I opted for the extended warranty during my first service itself. And for the card on the same day from the showroom. So you'll have to check with them regarding the same.

And coming to service part, YES.
Its highly recommended to service the scooter in time/distance whichever comes earlier to enjoy Warranty benefits because that'll be the first thing they'll point fingers at when we report any problem with the vehicle.

i have new digital console model . The digital also has bosch sensor speedometer ,engine check light . to work that u need some wiring changes & sensors . In short not recommended.

rear adjustable shock is same as old ,it just throws u off from seat on speed breaker. no changes
windscreen will make front more rattling .avoid it .

Thanks for the reply. I actually got a quote from the dealer for the speedo and shock change.

They said with the wiring harness and new console the cost would be around 6500 (excluding labor charge), and for the new adjustable shock it will be 1200 Rupees.

The windscreen apparently hasn't even arrived in stock here, so that's obviously a no go.

                          Cheers!

I agree with you. I have decided against doing that. However, are you sure the new rear shock doesn't improve comfort at all over the older one?

Also, can anything be done about the headlight cluster vibrating with the road undulations? The lights are already crap and that shaking makes riding in dark almost impossible on less than stellar roads.

i m on the softest setting of rear shock . its still hard for me (90kg) rider. try to change the tyre to mrf , heard its somewhat soft compound.

r u sure about the headlight cluster vibrations ? or do u want to say the indicators mounted cluster ?
i use this bike in farm ,no roads .still nothing vibrates . must say its a very solid built bike .
i have installed LED bulbs in headlights. the improvement is great over stock . try it .
